If i turn off the phone and turn it back on it goes up to 250M. What is running that I can't stop myself to make it go down from the 250M but that I can just eliminate by turning off the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI ALWAYS have my carrier 3g network and blu-tooth turned off at all times using the power control widget that came with my HTC Desire. but when i turn on my phone, my carrier network and blu-tooth are turnred on, and my mail and some other things get refreshed, using up data.
Is there a good widget or app that permanently stops the network and blu-tooth from turning on unless i do it manually? i cant find one on the market! i only set my refreshes of my mail to just once a day, and is there a way to set these refreshes to none a day, just manually?
Does anyone know how to turn off the sound when you turn the phone on?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI switched to an HTC One last week from my iPhone and I'm starting to regret it.
I was using my phone all day yesterday and it was fine. THen before bed I picked it up and noticed that the home and back button were flashing and then it stopped. I clicked the lock button but the screen didn't respond. I plugged it into the wall and my laptop and nothing happened, the red light doesn't even come on.
I've tried holding the power button down and the volume button down for over 30 seconds and nothing happens. I really need my phone for work and school and nothing is working for me.
I just got a new htc one and have had it for a couple months, its been running fine but the other night i was doing some major multi tasking and the phone froze up and became wont work so i held the power button down to reset the phone, it rebooted and came up with a report error to htc message. i hit dont send and then the phone turned off again and wouldnt turn back on. And now it wont even charge like if i plug in the usb it doesnt even show the led light come on. I tried to hard reset the phone with the volume key and power button but it wont work. The only thing it will do is when i hold the power button down the back and home soft keys just blink but nothing else happens.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've seen quite a few threads like this, with phones not turning on - but mine's a bit different.
It was at maybe 20-30% charge level when it just shut down, and it had one this maybe 4 times earlier in the night so I didn't think much of it, I went to trn it back on... and it just didn't. And I tried plugging it in, and the little white light blinks rapidly, and then turns off as well.
I tried plugging it in with 2 different Droid 2 chargers, rebooting it in recovery mode (the screen won't turn on at all), and I took the battery out all night to see if I could fix it that way.. no luck.
It's literally a brand new phone, I got it 2 days ago, never dropped it or anything. Am I going to have to get a replacement? I would really rather not, because the closest replacement center is over an hour away, and I need a phone before I can get over there if possible.
yesterday i was walking to my gym, and a few minutes in it started downpouring. after i got back my phone's background light was flickering like a flourescent light in an old abandoned building. i tried restarting it a few times and eventually like 10 minutes after my last restart finished the light's complexion faded and made everything on my phone look pail. i dont know if this was because of the restart or not. anyway, i turned my phone off last night right before i went to bed, and when i woke up it won't turn on, and if i plug it into the charger, the orange LED light doesn't come up. it blinks occasionally when plugged in, but very slowly, alot slower than it's normal blinking.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night (03/06/2013) my HTC Desire X was connected to my laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Z570) and was connected to HTC Sync Manager, and I was trying to sync my contacts, because I didn't want to loose them. I had previously backed up my photos and music, and just before I went to the Contacts tab, the phone screen and touch buttons went off, but the little red LED at the top stayed on, and didn't flash, and I think the phone turned off, but it showed no screen with HTC on it, it just went straight off. It wasn't the battery loosing charge because it was plugged in, was charging at the time and was over 50% charged before I plugged it in. When I plug it into either AC power or USB charger, the little red LED comes on, but nothing else happens.
So I tried to take out the battery for around 5 mins and then put it back in and leave it for about 5 mins, but still nothing. I then tried to hold down the Power button for around 30 secs and it didn't work. Then I tried to hold down Vol- and Power for around 6-10 secs, and still nothing. I then tried to leave it on charge over night and see what that would do, but it did nothing. When I leave it on charge over night it charges fully, and the red LED turns green, but when I plugged it in, it just went red and stayed red. The phone was new when I got it. I haven't rooted it at all, haven't loaded any ROMs onto it or anything. I haven't tried rooting it or anything, and haven't tried any ADB stuff.I haven't downloaded anything from a website I can't trust.
I was going to root my device, and that's why I was backing up, but I had already backed up my music and photos from before, but I wanted to make sure so I did it again. I don't know if it's bricked or not, but I've a feeling it is, and I don't know what it is that I did to brick it. I really need the contacts off it though, and I have ADB set up from before when I was just about to root it after I backed everything up. I now have the SIM and SD out of the phone in case it damages them, and I have the phone connected to the laptop with the battery out. I heard that you can take data from a phone using ADB, so when I set up everything, everything was ready and the red light was on on the phone, but the ADB couldn't find any devices. I am running ADB from cmd, and run cmd in administrator mode. I want to try to take all the data from my phone, and then hard reset it using ADB, because the hardware buttons won't come on on the phone.
I just restored my factory image with Android 4.4.2 and then flashed Cataclysm ROM and just a few moments ago I was setting everything up and then started messing with AdAway. I was having trouble with applying the host file but got it working by turning on ADB in developer options. When I rebooted for about the 2nd time the battery started to not go above 0% (it recently shut off right as it was applying a host file)... I got it back on and it wouldn't go above 0%. I took off the charger for a second and it shut off right away after it was on the charger for about 5-10 minutes. Now the red light is blinking while its off and charging but I can't get it to turn on, even when taking out the charger and making the red light go off. I haven't tried rebooting into bootloader yet, and right now it's just sitting on the charger with the red light blinking.
UPDATE: I got it ON, but it won't charge past 0% and right when I take it off the charger it is going to shut off. Should I delete the battery stats file? If so, where is it?
Is there any way to turn the bluetooth option on the caller id screen to automatically toggle the bluetooth function on vs rushing to home screen toggle?

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Note 2 stopped connecting to charger and PC last week. It eventually died. I have since tried another charged battery from my sisters phone and it still will not turn on. The initial start-up "Galaxy" logo appears, but doesn't go further than that. All functions seemed fine until battery initially drained after day two without charging. The data storage was at it's limit at the time too.

Right now I have three clicks to turn it on or off: Settings Wireless Connections Blue tooth (check box). I've posted in this forum because it seems Android has bluetooth issues on many devices.
I switch bluetooth on, turn on my car, then the phone connects via bluetooth to the car's speakerphone device.
I turn off the car, the phone sees the bluetooth speakerphone losing connection all of a sudden, then if I switch bluetooth off the phone tries to switch it really off but after a fews seconds bluetooth turns on automatically.
I can't reboot the phone everytime I have to switch bluetooth off.
PS: I really don't understand what's Goolge's problem with bluetooth. Really, they can't make it work right. It worked perfectly on 4.1.x, they've broken it with 4.2 and never fixed it 100%.
I am trying to pass location data from my application to the Google Navigation API (No, not the browser). I can pass data to the dialer, and call a phone number successfully, but now wish to use the turn-by-turn navigation as an additional function. I have searched tirelessly through Android documentation, Google Maps API Documentation, and the web without luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction or hint how I can pass the service my data?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDear Android community, i've a license/legal question regarding asking Google directions to be drawn directly into the MapView. Some of you know that asking google http://maps.google.com/maps/nav will give directions in Json + a Polyline encoded form. What i would like to know is, where is the Terms of Service regarding this functionality? It is for Google internal use or not? There's also the KML which gives similar informations. Please note that it is NOT for real time driving directions but a path to be drawn from a point to another and your position NOT refreshed in real time and of course it is for an app downloadable free of charge.

As a die-hard Google devotee,I have faith that they will correct the problem if enough people tell them to. Surprisingly, I was not able to find this suggestion on their product suggestion forum, so I created one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe other day I dropped my phone in water and sat there for a while before I noticed. I dried everything out, there was a ot of water under the screen, then turned it back on. Everything seems to work fine but a couple things. It wont connect to the internet, 3G and bluetooth will not turn on. I did the trouble shooting with the verizon tech with no help. So I have a new phone on the way through my insurance but since they are on back order still it may take a while. I need to find a way to get my contacts off the incredible to an old LG dare that I now activated and am using. The incredible will connect via WifF. I went to the verizon store but they couldn't get it to transfer.

Today, when I went to use it, I'm receiving directions...BUT I do not get turn by turn voice directions. The view of the map is from like an airplane, not the "over the shoulder" view like I used to get, and the voice part is totally gone (I've checked the volume and it's not that).I've tried powering the phone down/up, but doesn't help. I've called Verizon but they've told me they don't support this App.
