Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Lost Google Search Icon On Home Page

I set up my google account when I first received the phone and everything. However now when I open up the home screen the Google Search bar has disappeared. Gone into Basic settings > Setup Guide to check details but Google Account settings not even listed! (Just SIM Contacts; Time & Date; Email; Facebook; Twitter; Sync) Have checked Applications and it shows Google Search (enhanced) as the default setting but it is not showing up on my screen either as the search bar or in the applications. Have tried taking out and re-inserting the sim card. Any ideas on how to get it re-instated?

I would like to remove some icons I don't want, and also remove an icon page that is completely blank but still there. I don't just want to move them, I want to get rid of them. I couldn't find the answer in the user support.

I see in some videos the google search bar in 2.1 is suppsoed to to have the little microphone icon to activate voice search. I flashed 2.1 rodgers firmare onto my x10a and when the phone boots I can see the icon for a few seconds then it deisapears!! Anyone else with the same problem? Was it something taken out by rodgers in their version of firmware?

Im trying to take the timescape logo off my home screen (as its right in the centre and i dont use timescape) i know its possible as the guy in this link hasnt got it on his home screen

How can I rename the shortcuts on my home page? I've read on this forum to use "Anycut" but it doesn't appear in my Market. Is there another app that'll do the same thing?

Checking out media players, I downloaded Zimly and Mixzing (thanks suze!) to compare. Both installed instantly but only Zimly appeared as an icon on the home screen. When I go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications they are both listed as installed, however I need to have Mixzing drop its icon for me to be able to use it from reviews etc I actually think that's the one I'll be keeping anyway, a clear case of sod's Law that of the two that one would be the one with a problem! I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.

So I connect my phone to my PC to transfer the Angrybirds apk over. Then it says updates available. Foolishly, I take the update, follow all the instructions and now - it seems I've lost everything.
No contacts, no apps, no history, no ADW launcher with all the lovely themes and widgets and all the set-up I spent ages doing,...
What's going on? Have I lost it. Nothing much recovered when I tried to restore a back-up. Need to google register everything again.
I can see folders for apps that I had in the PC companion; but I can't seem to recover anything.
This phone has been nothing but trouble since day 1. :@

I've had to do a system update to my phone as it completely locked itself after too many unlock attempts in my pocket and I didn't know my google account. Basically, before my update I had a Satnav app, that I'm pretty sure i didn't download but was on my phone from stock (but I might be wrong). I think it was called Navigation, and it had an update recently that allowed it to have vocal commands, i.e. "Turn left in 100 yards" etc. It had the same blue arrow that the Google Maps Navigation had as the app icon. It's useful to me as I'm a delivery driver and when you get near to the 'target' house it shows a picture of which house it is, it's really accurate, and has that satellite layer on it that helps out too. I really need this app back and have been looking (both on the marketplace and on the phones memory) for it for a while to no avail.

I updated my phone to the new firmware version. Followed all steps including backing up all my phone entries (logs/messages/contacts etc...) and went through the update with flying colors. The new update is amazing but for some reason after recovering all of my (previously saved) things, I found out I'm missing more than half of my contacts!
Anyone know what's going on? I can find my whole phone book through my text messaging application when searching for a name but if I go into my actual phone book I have like the last 6 entries that I added only... I've tried importing from sim/sd card nothing works...

I need help with two things. Firstly, i'v lost my Sony ericcson logo that should go in the middle of the screen on the homepage (I don't want to use timescape; I don't like it) so i'd like to know how to get that back. Secondly iv somehow managed to change my keyboard into Japanese or Chinese (or some language with symbols) Iv still got letters but my smiley faces have turned all weird on me and the keyboard has shifted slightly to the left and I keep putting commas instead of using the space bar - very annoying.

I have upgraded the SD card in my phone to 4gb and now I have also lost all of my contacts Last week I lost the ability to download/update anything from Market and now this! I have used the option to copy all my contact from the SIM card and that doesn't work AND the SE sync will not work either, and just constantly fails to complete synchronization.

I just updated to eclair and lost all my contacts though i made a backup.... when i try to restore the backup brings back everything and the contacts stop at 99% and after a few seconds the backup prog closes as if all ok but still no contacts can anyone help me resolve this problem?

Since I installed the latest upgrade 2.1 (successfully), I lost the keypress sound which was very useful. I tried the Settings/Sound and Display/Audible touch tones menu, and the Language & Keyboard/ Sound on keypress menu, in both cases I selected "on" but still I don't hear the keyboard sound which I find very useful since I am partially sighted.

so im blasted pissed i lost all my pictures, and my setting for my ringtones. I didn't do nothing i just woke up and they were gone. I haven't done the update so i idk wt* happened
At first i thought it was my Sd card but it isn't because i didn't loose my apps. Now i know there's no way to recover my pictures, but i want to know if there is a way to get the phone to work recognize the folder i have so i can use my custom ringtones, alarms and notifications again.I tried the SDcard/audio/ringtones and etc because that's what i had last time and now it isn't work

But please before you do, either read back through the pages of thread titles or search for what the problem is using the search function in the X10 section as the vast majority of questions have already been answered in previous posts. This is a slight rant but for the last month there has been times that the same question has been asked on more than one thread and have even seen 3 of the same threads together on here. Now that is just lazy. So please search first or maybe even give google a try after all it is Android/Google/ Rant over, for now till I get annoyed about SE lies even more so as my mate just installed 2.2 on his Desire and keeps taking the

(On the HTC G1(Dream) running 1.6 and Motorola Droid(MileStone) running 2.0,) there was a Voice Search button next to the google search widget, but it's not there on the X10, and no voice search app in the market. I am a new member and a relatively new owner of an X10i. Overall I am happy with the phone but I am hoping some can answer a question. When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.

I am having an issue where my phone connects fine to my home internet Via a new N-Router, then while using the phone and going through different apps like facebook or android market. I get errors about unable to fetch updates or unable to update page. All the while the WiFi icon is still on in the status bar. It seems that when I turn off the WiFi then back on or power the phone off then back on it work again for a short while. I don't have issues with my laptop or WiFi that use this same router.

I bought this x10 two days ago. I am not still able to make Internet work on it via WiFi. Tasks I performed:
1. Updated X10 to the latest firmware.
2. Connected to My WiFi Network and given the authentication details.
3. Connection status is connected in X10. (There is no problem in connecting to my WiFi Network for X10).
4. I went to Browser and typed Google its coming as "Page Cannot be Displayed"
Problem is: X10 is connecting to WiFi but Cannot Browse. I tired even Use Static IP and gave DNS and gateway even.
