Nexus :: Bug With New Update - Uninstalled Dolphin - Lost Multitouch In Browser
Feb 3, 2010
I had dolphin installed to check out MT, but really never liked it. As soon as the MT update was installed on my phone, I removed dolphin. Then I noticed that my regular browser was no longer multitouch. As soon as I installed dolphin again, multitouch returned to the stock browser. So to me it looks like dolphin was installing the same MT files that the stock browser now uses, and when it uninstalls, it removes those files. Looks like this may be something dolphin needs to update for. Can anyone else try this out and confirm it for me?
I am thinking maybe I can uninstall dolphin, then reflash the update, but I am not sure if this will cause a problem, can I just reinstall and update on top of an update?

When viewing sites with a lot of Flash ads like GameFAQs I get an annoying popup telling me that I have lost the data connection and the page could not be loaded. Only the ads are not loading, but I'd like a way to ignore or fix this.

I installed froyo this morning and had to download all my apps again including dolphin hd, now when I use the pinch to zoom the text does't automatically fit the screen anymore, I've checked and the auto fit box is checked.

I've been using the stock browser and it's been playing flash content fine. I just installed Dolphin HD browser but for some reason it's not loading any flash content on any site. Anyone have any ideas why not? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting as well. I'm out of ideas. The stock browser still works though. I'm on FRF91, non-rooted.

The Nexus One recently came Rogers in Canada and I just received mine and im trying to figure out how to update my firmware so that I can get multitouch on it . After all the initial setup I didnt get a notification for the OTA multitouch update. Is it dependent on the carrier to give us the update or something?

I tried searching first!
I've lost Multi Touch Zoom on the Dolphin Browser Since the 2.1 update.
The native browser will not multi touch zoom either (I thought this was supposed to be included in the update).
Any ideas? I can't find a setting to turn it on.

The browser lag today made me want to smash my phone (obv exaggeration, but you get the point)...so, I decided to check to see if maybe there was an update waiting for me in the Market and sure enough after updating the browser it is on fire again. So, if you haven't updated yet today, make sure to do so.

Since the recent update I have been unable to pick up a 3G signal.
The Nexus used to show a 3G symbol but now all I get is either a G or E.
I am now in the middle of Manchester when I used to pick up a 3G signal and all I can pick up is Edge.
Has anyone else experienced this or know how this can be solved?
What does G mean if its not 3G, could it be 2G? Whatever that is...

i got an htc droid incredible 2 phone about a week ago, and today, when i clicked the "internet" button, it said something along the lines of "this link no longer works because it is no longer installed". however, i didn't uninstall or delete it! i also didn't update to gingerbread or whatever; i haven't done anything except kinda familiarize and explore the features of the phone. now, i can't go on the internet or "google search" or the "talk" anymore. the internet icon is still there; it just says i have uninstalled it.

I bought a Nexus One rooted, I tried to open a PDF attachment in the email app and although I have adobe reader installed quickoffice took over, I tried to uninstall quickoffice, but the button is gray faded, so are all the other buttons in the application management for quickoffice.I won't ever use the app I just want it removed or thrown so far in the background that it never interferes with anything again, since the app doesn't work at all.I was reading through other forums and couldn't find any solutions, only problems about this. Does anyone here have the same issue? Could it be solved?

Does anyone know if there has been a multitouch mod yet for NESoid on the Nexus One? Its so tough to use when you have to continually take your fingers off of the screen. Also, is there a way to change the button layout? right now the A and B buttons are on the left and right side of the phone, making it really difficult to use both at the same time. Also, please dont post anything on here about games because i dont want them to close the thread on me. Just answer the technical questions or voice concerns or whatever, dont mention any games or roms or anything of that nature.

With the Droid's 2.1 update, it will be getting multitouch in the browser. So I'm assuming that stock Android browsers will be getting multitouch from 2.1 on forward. I've always been under the impression that the purpose of the Sense browser was to incorporate multitouch that was previously missing in older versions of Android.
With 2.1 coming to our Heros, do you think the new Hero's will just use stock browser? If not, will there be any way to GET the stock browser on the Hero? I honestly think I would like the stock browser better, because I hate the "text autoflow" on the Sense browser. Everytime I zoom, it text-autoflows, and throws me onto some random place on the screen! Plus it makes the browser slower.

Spent 2 weeks poking around Android SDKs and sacrificed last two weekends and finally managed to get a relatively stable version today. Named 'xScope', I did put a $2.99 price tag tough if you please excuse me. I need to buy a bird for this thanksgiving and wife kept bashing my development effort for not doing any housework in the past weeks. The browser is not full blown but works great for simple surfing.

Htc Hero is supposed to be a multi touch device, you can pinch to zoom in browser and in photo viewer, the thing that I can't understand is why all other applications don't support multitouch.
For example I downloaded snesoid and nesoid and there is written in the options that my firmware (1.5) doesnt' support multitouch, making it impossible to play games.
So is HTC hero with 1.5 really multitouch or not? And will I be able to use multitouch in emulators and other apps downloaded from the market when the 2.1 will come out?

Sometimes I wish I was Dr Frankenstein and could take the parts I like from all 5 major browsers and put them together into one SUPER-browser.
1. Stock Browser (full-featured but slow)
2. Dolphin HD (medium quick but weird bookmarking scheme)
3. Opera Mini (fast and great bookmarks, but no pinch-to-zoom)
4. Skyfire (all round probably best one, but slower than xscope)
5. xScope (very fast and light but lousy bookmarking and no copy text)
Anyway, I was giving Dolphin HD a shot because I like the way you can drag your bookmarks out from the left side. I actually like to have my bookmarks alphabetized (I know, NUTS, right?), but apparently Dolphin sees no need for this as they don't have any option to sort your bookmarks by any metric other than to drag each one by hand - a rough task if you have 200 bookmarks.
Dolphin does have this "Bookmarks to SD" add-on that will allow you to export your stock browser (universal) bookmarks to an html file, then import them back into Dolphin. Unfortunately, it somehow reverses the order of my A-Z alphabetized universal bookmarks so that they are Z-A in Dolphin.

Ever since I got the Evo, I've been using Dolphin Browser HD -- the combination of tabbed browsing and great features make it an overall improvement over the HTC/Eclair browser.
Now that people are switching up to 2.2, are people switching back to stock for the much acclaimed speed improvements? Have people noticed significant differences between the new Froyo browser and Dolphin HD?

It is possible to block all the background work dolphin do with ads and the other unneeded service which use data and battery?
Suppose you leave dolphin open on a simple page while you are reading he is continuously using your system even if you don't need...It's really heavy specially for the battery.
The layout and options as auto Fullscreen are amazing but i would like it working as the stock browser without connecting in the background with the dolphin server without permission...
