Android :: Dimming Before Phone Shuts Off / Need To Stop It
Nov 21, 2010I've read all the posts I could find. I just want the phone to never dim. The option to have it shut off at 2 minutes is perfect. I just hate the dimming that happens before it shuts off. I have tried screebl but is completely disables screen off timer. I just want it to stop dimming and just shut the screen off according to the display timeout. It dims reguardless of manual or automatic brightness. I don't want to disable the screen off timer either. IF I leave the phone on at the table and walk away, I do want it to turn off in 2 minutes.
What can I do to just keep the freaking phone from dimming yet still shut off with the timer?

Aug 21, 2010It seems after only a fortnight or so from getting my new Desire (unlocked and unrooted) I've already run into a problem I can't seem to fix. I was running a game (I believe it was Asphalt HD) while on the charger when my screen went completely black and I found myself at the boot screen. It finished booting but then got stuck on a frozen "loading" screen. I restarted it and it worked fine, I assumed it was the app and tried another one. About ten minutes in I got another black screen and the phone started booting again. Only this time it would do the animated logo, then crash and try to reboot again, over and over until I pulled the battery. Only now it wont boot at all, it will simply sit on the initial HTC boot screen indefinitely. It won't turn off the screen or anything, just sit there in a frozen state.
So far I've tried removing the SD and even SIM cards, leaving it off to charge the battery, doing a factory reset from the boot screen, etc. But every single time, whether I turn it on normally or use the bootloader, all I get is the single "switched on" vibration and the HTC screen, and it just freezes there. I already spent quite a while waiting for this phone to arrive, I REALLY don't want to send it back to the store because it was bought through an importer and I'm worried it will take a very long time for any repairs/replacements. I will if I'm forced to but I would much rather find more methods I could try.
HTC Incredible :: Screen Dimming And Phone Locking
Jul 28, 2010I recently made the switch from a BlackBerry Curve to the HTC Incredible. One of the "features" of my Curve that I'm having trouble duplicating on the Incredible is this: I was able to set a timeout to lock the phone and a separate timeout to blacken the screen. That is, if the screen went black after 30 seconds of inactivity, the screen wouldn't necessarily lock until 30 minutes of inactivity. I have increased the screen timeout on my Incredible, but the screen doesn't dim at all. I tried installing the No Lock application, but now I can't find a way to manually lock the phone if necessary.

Apr 15, 2010Is there a way to separate the dimming vs. sleeping timeout? It appears that if I set the screen timeout to any value, it dims first, then sleeps. I have the "never sleep when charging" setting checked, and what it does when charging is the screen dims, but the moment does not sleep. Is there a way to prevent the dimming while charging?

Every 6 or 7 seconds or so the screen dims itself. This can become very annoying when reading long messages or any other text. May 25, 2014I have this issue that randomly occurs either after watching so many videos or my phone just being on after so much time that videos will stop playing, the first second of a video will play and then it stops, this occurs for youtube videos or videos locally on my phone. This issue can be resolved by doing a reboot but then will just occur again.
I have a Droid Razr MAXX and it is rooted running liquid smooth.

Apr 1, 2010Got a nexus one and on it is Android 2.1 I believe?I plug my car's headphone style cable into the phone all the time to listen to internet radio and even the internal mp3's on it every once in a while.The problem is the phone's music player starts all the time on its own and plays random music OVER whatever internet radio app I may be using.Its so annoying and I can't figure out how to make it stop.Out of no where listening to iHeartRadio, or DroidLive, the Mp3 native music players starts and plays.I've read people saying use the drop down (notification) to go into the app, and hit pause, then the phone's back button to get out and that that particular order will stop it.Even if its instructions on how to delete the native music app and a suggestion for another 3rd party music app anything just HAVE to get rid of this auto play thing.

Jul 27, 2010I have a HTC Incredible and when I start to play music, my downloaded voicemails start looping and playing over the music. I can hit pause, but then they'll automatically start playing. When hitting menu, there is no option to delete. Only options are "shuffle on, search, exit, get art, concerts and more" Exit doesn't work. As soon as I start listening to music, the voicemails turn right back on. I have turned the phone completely off and on again, and still the voicemails just keep on playing over the music.

I like to listed to music streaming and the stock browser seems to allow Flash play audio, but the Dolphin browser can not recognize it.
