HTC Desire :: Playing Music Or Watching Video Using Headphones
Jul 12, 2010When playing music or watching video using the headphones that came with it, there is a lot of crackling and hissing. If you go back to the home screen, there is a high pitched whistling sound (almost as if you've placed a microphone next to a speaker and are getting feedback as a result.) I can't seem to get any FM radio stations either. I've tried three different sets of headphones as well as the set bundled with the Desire and all have the same problem. Is this a known issue or should I phone O2 and get it replaced.

Jan 11, 2010Well the problems started 3 weeks ago when i noticed whenever i move around the headphones inside the jack, the music stops or one of the ear buds stop working. so i thought it was the headphones since skullcandies don't last long. i got a new pair and listened again but it STILL HAPPENED . (btw, the phone is not rooted)
The Phone still plays media fine without the headphones, so i thought no big deal. NEW PROBLEMS started to occur. The phone would NOT PLAY Media files whatsoever. (games, music, notifications, APPS ) every time it happens i have to restart the phone.

Apr 1, 2010Got a nexus one and on it is Android 2.1 I believe?I plug my car's headphone style cable into the phone all the time to listen to internet radio and even the internal mp3's on it every once in a while.The problem is the phone's music player starts all the time on its own and plays random music OVER whatever internet radio app I may be using.Its so annoying and I can't figure out how to make it stop.Out of no where listening to iHeartRadio, or DroidLive, the Mp3 native music players starts and plays.I've read people saying use the drop down (notification) to go into the app, and hit pause, then the phone's back button to get out and that that particular order will stop it.Even if its instructions on how to delete the native music app and a suggestion for another 3rd party music app anything just HAVE to get rid of this auto play thing.

Jun 13, 2010Have had my new Incredible now for a couple of weeks and love it. I am still learning so much about how it works and have searched but can't seem to find an answer to this question. When I plugged in my earbuds from my Ipod tonight to go for a walk, the music continued to play through the speaker and not the headphones. I can't seem to find what I have done. I am using Isynch for my music and the preloaded music app. Do I need special headphones?

Jul 27, 2010I have a HTC Incredible and when I start to play music, my downloaded voicemails start looping and playing over the music. I can hit pause, but then they'll automatically start playing. When hitting menu, there is no option to delete. Only options are "shuffle on, search, exit, get art, concerts and more" Exit doesn't work. As soon as I start listening to music, the voicemails turn right back on. I have turned the phone completely off and on again, and still the voicemails just keep on playing over the music.

Aug 29, 2010the music i downloaded will force close anywhere between 30 seconds to one minute of play. I used the music program that came with the incredible and now that won't work. I've downloaded another music player, but that still didn't work. The same thing has been happening with pandora also (I thought it was the updates but I can't get through more than 30-1min of any song). I removed the second music app and fildo (music download app) and pandora. Still does the same thing on the htc music. Should I try a factory reset? I'm just afraid it will delete my contacts.

I just unplug it when i get to work and i don't have to go in and push pause or stop. I love it. Question is... is there an app that will automatically start playing music from the player? So i could just plug it in and have the music start and then stop again when i unplug it. I only use the headphone jack and listen to music in the car.

Jun 9, 2010I am having a very frustrating problem with my new EVO. Playing music through headphones plugged into the 3.5mm jack is very inconsistent to say the least. When I first got the phone I could not hear music through the headphones (using the htc music app) at all. I could hear ringers, notifications, etc. just not music. I updated the software and it worked, though now I think it had nothing to with that, it was more restarting the phone.
Earlier today I plugged in the headphones and the music came through fine. The song I was listening to stopped, I went to select another song, and the music stopped working through the headphones after having worked just a second before. Again, I could hear every other sound but not the music. I turned the phone off and on again and it worked fine again. Hours later, I plug my headphones back in, and nothing. As a background, it's not he the headphones I've tried several. I can hear everything else, notifications, ringers, etc., not music. The headphones icon is present at the top.
I actually cant hear anything besides notifications through the headphones when this problem occurs including Youtube, FM Radio, Pandora, etc. Although I have manged to somehow get music to play through both the speaker and the headphones by fiddling with the headphones/speaker option in the FM Tuner. Remember when I said I could hear the ringer, notifications, etc. well, those are actually coming through both the external headset speaker and the headphones. I'm not sure if that is normal behavior but, it is strange. Either way, I can't hear music, youtube, etc. through the headphones.

Managed to find a good program to sync my music with it (MediaMonkey) and now the only other hurdle to this seems to be the volume levels which are too low for my liking. Oct 29, 2010Would love a good music app for my captivate which bypasses everything and immediately goes to the last song played and begins from there. Bypasses the unlock screen and any "last apps" I was using. A true "plug and play". Is there such an app? Right now I have to plug in the phones, unlock the phone, back out of my messenger or email program, select the music app, select the album or artist and then the songs. Its all a bit tiring if I do it somewhat frequently like in and out of the car.

HTC Desire :: Incoming Calls Alerts While Listening Music On Headphones?
Jul 15, 2010So I was cycling home from work listening to some music on my Desire through the headphones via Meridian music player. During the trip home the music muted for 10 seconds or so and then re-started. I checked the phone and noticed that I had a missed call. My phone was set to vibrate only. I didn't feel it vibrate in my pocket whilst cycling. When I've listened to music before I've always heard some notification through the headphones when a call, text or email has come through but I can't be sure that the phone was on vibrate on these occasions.
Can anyone confirm that when using the headphones with the phone on vibrate you will not get an audible notification when a call, text or email comes through? If this is the case its a bit annoying because if its an email I am happy to wait till I get home but if its a call I want to take it straight away. With no audible notification you have no way of knowing whats come through.
