Motorola Droid X :: Corporate Store Price Vs VZW Online Price?

Jul 20, 2010

I've been researching phones for my first smart phone for about 6 months.I've almost decided on the Droid X.I think I will buy it at the one year price. On line, the one year contract price is $269.99.I stopped in at my local corp. store just a few minutes ago and their price for a one year contract on a Droid X was $319.99, $50.00 more. This was just the phone, no accessories added. They told me that the $269.99 was a special on line price and I told them it was a system-wide price.Who's right and is this normal and I just didn't know it or are they trying to rip off an old man?

Android :: Barcode Scanner / Price Compare App

Oct 16, 2010

I was trying Barcode Scanner and Shop Savy from the market. Thought it would be a pretty cool resource to price match items when shopping whether they are on the web or locally.I have tried and tried and tried to work the Barcode scanner on the phone with no luck. Tried scanning up close.. a few inches away.. I sit there and sit there and sit there while it supposedly scans but never comes up with anything.Tried Google shop too which btw doesn't show on my app list after its installed so i have to pull it up on market to access it. Weird... But that is mainly for cd's, dvd's, books, etc. Things with some type of art or cover.

Motorola Droid :: Any Way To Get BB Or Verizon To Match Phandroid Price?

Nov 6, 2009

I saw on the front page that Phandroid negotiated a price of 149.99 for the phone. I went to the link and sure enough, it's 149.99, instant rebate. Is there any way I can get either the Verizon Wireless Store or Best Buy to match that price? I have it pre-ordered at Best Buy but I can cancel it if need be.I'd really like to have the phone tomorrow on launch day, but paying 199.99 instead of 149.99 is pretty silly.

Samsung EPIC 4G :: Price To Pay Seems A Little Too High For Magnificent Screen

Sep 1, 2010

First off let me begin by saying that I absolutely love the Epic 4G so far. The biggest difference for me coming from an EVO is the beauty of the screen. I work with several techies at my job so I asked to borrow an iPhone 4 and an EVO. I pulled the same web pages on each machine to compare image quality and DAMN! I never realized how bad the screen on the EVO was. Proves that bigger isn't always better. The major shootout was between the EPIC and the iphone. While most everyone liked the EPIC'S screen better, the consensus we all reached is that the iphone has a more realistic picture while the EPIC has the colors more saturated. Now back to my point. With this beautiful screen comes great sacrifice. The battery life on this thing (so far) is terrible! The fantastic screen eats battery like no other! As of typing this on my new phone, I have it unplugged for 33 mins with the battery at 58% with the display using 83% of the battery! I have the screen brightness at about 90% and this feels unacceptable. I've never been one to be conservative with screen brightness levels so I've never seen something drain this hard this fast. Hopefully its just a breaking in thing but current owners, please give me some feedback because I don't know if I can do a year with this issue.

Android :: Best "Real Time" And Market Price App?

Nov 10, 2010

I'm seeking what other forum users think is the best REAL-TIME stock market quote app. Does NOT necessarily have to have streaming live quotes but I'm looking for an app that, when updated, gives REAL-TIME quotes rather than 15 or 20 minute delayed.

I have a list of apps that I have downloaded but haven't had a chance to try and was wondering if anyone can comment. I'm pretty sure that a bunch of these do NOT even have REAL-TIME quotes so would appreciate any thoughts, info, pros/cons etc, integration with Google Finance/TD Ameritrade (I have an account) Here they are:

Android :: Which Android Phone / Non-phone Can Meet My Needs For Lowest Price?

Sep 1, 2010

I would be grateful for your well-informed suggestions. In my own naivety I purchased a Blackberry Curve, and it's next to useless to me since I don't have the web service (too expensive), it doesn't transfer *.html or *.pdf files by USB, audio transfer app is buggy, and in what it does do, it's a pain to use.I need a device to use as a PDA (calendar & tasks lists to sync with desktop software such as Outlook or similar), to read *.rtf & *.pdf documents, use *.html & JavaScript files, play audio files, take text memo notes, a simple IDE on which I can do some simple programming (preferably in Java, but another language would be ok), and use a flashcard app, such as Anki. All file transfers must be by USB.Oh, and I don't need it to have a phone at all, so some other device such as that Android iPad clone would be OK if it operates well, reliably, and will likely last at least a couple of years.I'm severely limited financially, so I need to choose the cheapest one which fulfillls these needs. I'd prefer a keyboard, but if any much cheaper with touchscreen only can fulfill these requirements, it will do. Buying a used device such as from ebay would keep the price down, but I need advice on selecting one, considering that I chose something as terrible as a Blackberry.
