the Facebook for android apps of the htc desire is not receiving notifications. When i refresh the page of the notifications, a error will occur. All the rest can be used except for the notifications. Anyone has the same problems? or if you know the solution kindly help.

Is anyone else finding that their Facebook notifications page will NOT refresh?
Mine has been stuck since Jan 6 (only that page) and g I can just go to the website, it's downright annoying.

Both Facebook and Gmail apps have notifications checked off to show when new messages are received but they never put a notification in my notification panel of my phone or sound a tone or vibrate even tho they are set to. Anyone else have this problem and is there a way to fix it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have seen quite a few posts about FB notifications. However I don't get any of these. But I installed the Android version since the HTC version didn't have an Inbox. Is that why I don't get Facebook notifications, ie is that a difference between the 2 apps? The only notifications I get are emails that someone commented etc.
With the Blackberry version, those emails come in, but the FB app knows to take them over and remove the email so you aren't inundated with FB updates in your email Inbox.
I find the facebook App really poor. I don't seem to be getting notifactions when i get a message or someone posts on my wall.
I have checked the settings and i have ticked all the options but nothing.
Am i right in thinking that the phone should alert me to any post even when i am on the home screen (i.e. not in facebook app)?
I recently purchased my new Desire and although I love it, i've noticed two annoying faults! 1. When i send text messages to some contacts, the phone decides to send them not as an sms but as an email or sometime even an mms! 2. My voicemail notifications are being received under one of my Facebook contacts instead of just plain Vodafone! Very weird as my contacts list isnt set to display Facebook contacts even though its an option! Is anyone else having the same problem and been able to fix this? Im sure its just the settings that need to be changed but ive had a play and just cant seem to stop it happening!

However, I accidentally removed my facebook account which reset them all. As it had synced with Google already, I just resynced the links back to my phone, no problems.However, now all the photos have disappeared and short of unlinking and relinking anyone (which will take a long time...), is there a quicker way to refresh their photos?

i have a HTC Desire and although i used to get them at first i am no longer getting the notifications when apps are ready for update, i have the settings clicked to alert me but i have had several apps needed updates recently and none gave me the notification, has any body else had this issue and how can it be resolved, not a majot issue but just frustrating.

My facebook has stopped working - the apps won't update with new information, and trying to access the main site through the browser brings up the 'bad ip - your ip address is linked to abusive behaviour blah blah ' facebook form. I've filled this in and am waiting to hear back, but was wondering if this could be due to the settings on my phone? it was working fine for the last month, so no idea what could have changed...

One of the things that bugs me tho, (coming from the iPhone which had that ability) is that the Facebook app, don't show any notifications, and that is something I'd really want. View 19 Replies View RelatedI haven't been using the Facebook app since the version 1.3.2 battery issue, but I've noticed that recently it's been updated to 1.4.1. So I thought I'd give it another try, and they seem to have fixed the battery issue which is great, but I'm now missing notifications (i.e. when you tap the blue bar at the bottom you get a list of comments people have made either after your comments, or on your photos and things). For example, this morning I had 8 notifications on the app, but when I checked the mobile site there were two that hadn't pushed through to the facebook app. Anyone else get this? I have the feeling I'm missing a really simple setting somewhere.

facebook app (one that comes with phone) seems to have some problems loading notifications most of the time and also other unknown errors... like "Cannot retreive notifications.... [601/parse error... at position 57] and some others.

Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.
