View 7 RepliesI wanna use the Gdata Apis within my Android Application. Being more specific I wanna give the user the ability to search for keywords, use the Gdata api to search for products within googleproducts for these keywords and parse the xml that I get back. I know how to parse xml files via an org.xml.sax.helpers.DefaultHandler but I guess that I am not suppose to use such a Handler but rather rely on the Gdata api to parse the xml for me. My Problem is that I dont know how to integrate the api in my App. There is a similiar topic within stackoverflow (hier) but I am not at all satisfied with the answer they gave. Just giving someone the information to "look at our recently announced version 2.1.0-alpha of the GData Java library which supports Android" doesnt quite help me to integrate gdata in my app. I would very appreciate if someone could give a step-by-step guide how to integrate the gdata api within my app, including code examples to make a search-request and parsing back the results from google products.
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust wandering, I'm the UK and apps are listed in Dollars?
Is this normal or is there a way to get it in pounds, just bought an app but might refund if its going to cost extra?
I recently got my D1, and I'm noticing a lot of the games and apps I might be interested in buying are listed in Euros or British Pounds. I'm in the US, so how would I buy a game like labyrinth if I wanted to? Can I buy games in a different currency and pay for them in Also, don't mean to ask a stupid question, but is my phone set it's default location in Europe for some reason?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had an edited png for the market icon in the vending apk but when I applied my edited png's to Ivans rom with the market fix it seems to have changed the icon back to the original market Icon. When I first loaded the rom it showed my edited png for the market icon but after my first reboot it seems to change the icon back to the original. I assume that the market is updating upon reboot so I pulled the vending apk off my phone and my edited png's are still there but its still showing the original market icon. Anybody else with an edited market icon notice this or any ideas of why its going back to original? I have tried this a couple times and it always updates after first reboot...
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any non-market/market, fully functional free emulators I can download for older systems. I'm a broke college student.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been rooted with Droid Mod forever and have never had any issues or never tried other roms it worked so I've stayed with it. Anyway I was screwing around trying to fix a problem and did a nandroid back up and and restore ( i'm clueless) Did not wipe info (that scares me) and I reflashed the rom a couple times because I kept selecting or deselecting the wrong things. Finally got everything perfect. The phone seemed to like the mini overhaul. But when I rebooted the market apk is gone. No where to be found. All my apps are there but no icon for market. Its just gone. Can I get that, download it desktop, mount, and drag to phone somewhere?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an app that was installed via Android Market. And so, the Android Market knows when new versions are out and notifies me of an update. Titanium Backup calls this the 'Market Link', not sure what else it could be called.
how would I go about 'disconnecting' the app from the Market? Deleting the market link as if it were side-loaded?
Yes, I know this means no more updates for the app etc. Which is actually what I'm after.
I'm using a SGS - DocRom V9.6 with Speedmod Kernel k13a
I have the following clear message :
Market requires the minSdkVersion to be set in AndroidManifest.xml.
But my manifest has the line : <uses-sdk minSdkVersion="2" /> and I also tried even <uses-sdk minsdkversion="2" />... I try to put this line : as the first child of manifest, as the last child and also right after application.. Is there a hidden rule I don't know ...
I am developping (for my company) an app included on a project that will have 2 versions:
- 1st simple version to download using a OTA server, clients accesss to an URL to download.
- 2nd version more complex to be published on the Market.
The question here is that the process to publish on the Android Market is under bureaucratic internal process and it takes a long time, so the idea do reduce the time to market is to provide an OTA version.
There is any possibility for users that download application via OTA to upgrade the application for version published later on the Market? (Both Application will be signed with the same key).
I know my question answers but since there's a lot of you who really spend your time scrutinizing your rank, downloads and all, I'm trying it maybe someone came up with empiric science on this one :
Does anyone understood even bits of how the market ranks apps in the market ?
I usually don't look at stats but following another post on this topic, I counted my rank in my category ... 565 ... Ouch that hurts! Especially when half the apps in front of mine, are crap apps with less downloads and ratings as low as 1 star :).
Not that it would make a difference being rank 250 instead of 565...But this is humiliating a little :s
Since my app has been on the market for one month, i'm wondering if age matters ...
I know I should have asked in the market "black hole of hell " google group but the name says it all. And I'm sure some of you already figured out some of the black magic used by the Market to rank apps.
I have an HTC buzz, which has a smaller screen (QVGA) than most android phones. Now there is an application (hyves) which is in the market but when I scan their QR code or try it via appbrain it keeps saying Not Found. A frien of mine (who now is in belgium) has a G1 and I've copied the APK when he installed hyves. The app itself works fine just the icons are a little to large, but that is not annoying.
Now the problem, there is an update, and I cannot install it via the normal way. Is there a way to get the download URL of an APK in the market (via cyrket or so)? I can try to sniff my network when the phone trys to get an app but I'm not sure how to do that and if that would work...
This may sound like a weird question, but I have developed a mobile web application which works well with Android (browser). Would it be possible for me to somehow list this website/application on the marketplace? Or does it strictly have to be a downloadable app?

Solution as mentioned below: From the developer console, click the link for your app. Scroll to the bottom, there are 2 buttons - "Unpublish" and "Save". Click "Unpublish"
I have a weird question. I know its not the idea of AppMarkets, but is it somehow possible to get rid of the android market on a Android Phone. Customer wants to provide its own market, so that customers who buys their own sold phone (a new HTC with Customners Branding and User-Interface). They have several Apps to provide and will publish them via an App on this Phone initially installed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way that I could access the market data from Google's (android's) servers, in a similar fashion to Cyrket.com (such as an open web service, etc)
This would definitely increase the market's potential and usability, and I was wondering how I could go about getting that data, since cyrket obviously has a way.
I've just noticed that the Android Market shows a blank page with the message 'No matching content in Android Market'. Yet when I go to specific sections of the Market or do a search, one is able to download and install applications and games just fine. I've only just noticed this happening in the last few days. I'm using an unlocked UK version Galaxy S but my location is Inner Mongolia, China. Would this have anything to do with Android Market not showing content on the front page? The S itself is loaded with Froyo, as downloaded from the XDA forums.
