Nov 9, 2009I'm assuming this is the easiest thing in the world. I just can't figure it out. I have 2 POP email accounts and I'm looking to delete several messages without having to click on the X next to each one. How can I delete ALL the emails in a certain folder (inbox, trash, sent, etc...)

Feb 17, 2010I usually view email with attachments from my pc because I usually lack the time to download the attachment. Today, I had some spare time so I tried to download an attachment. It downloaded fine but when I went to view it, I received a pop-up box to save it to the sd card. After pressing ok, I was told the save was successful but now I can't find it. Aside from pics and videos, how do I access other folders with saved data?

Sep 1, 2010New to Andriod but seem to have figures most out, ...but.. I have added my hotmail account under the mail app standard on the sonyericsson x10, and the mail is comming through, but when I delete it on the web or laptop it does not delete it on phone neither does it update that I have read the email. It does sync but emails stay on phone. Any body have a fix or answer for me?
Also I have several folders in my hotmail account, the phone only displays Inbox, drafts, outbox, sent, trash. How do I get the rest of the folders on the phone?

Blackberry used to have a sync option that when you selected "Delete" it asked if you wanted to:

Nov 17, 2009 When I set my phone up it loaded every singe contact from my GMAIL contacts onto my phone. I don't necessarily want all of these clogging up my phone, but when I go to delete them from my phone they also get deleted from my contact list in GMAIL. Also the same with emails. If I delete them on my phone, they get removed from GMAIL inbox.
My old blackberry would give the an option of "delete from phone" or "delete from phone AND gmail".

May 5, 2010Trying to figure out why I can't open file attachments from emails. Received some pdf files and two doc files today. Tried opening files from email with pdf reader program and quickoffice or whatever its called. Neither type of file would open. Tried to download then open files with same problem. Files are definitely .pdf and .doc, just opened and rad them on laptop now. Also confused...is there any way to look at my SD card folders and files through a phone app? Can't figure out how to see anything other then my music and photos.

Dec 11, 2009A couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?

Aug 20, 2012Having an issue where anytime I try to add a new contact manually for a new phone number or create it using the "create new contact" feature via an old text message by that phone number's owner, my phone automatically deletes it within seconds. This happens only when the sync settings under settings-->accounts & sync-->background information are enabled. The new contact gets deleted regardless whether I add the new contact BEFORE enabling sync or whether I add it WHILE sync is enabled.

General :: Phone Deleting Media Files Unwanted And Automatically
Aug 3, 2013I wanted to show a picture to a friend of mine. Opened my gallery > ehm, what is going on here? > there were no photos images anymore.
First I thought that the gallery app got some problemes, rebooted my phone, still the same. Looked up the folders with Solid Explorer, well ... all files got definitely deleted.
I searched for this here on xda and google. Well, all I found out was that it could be ROM related, or that it could have something to do with RomManager (haven't installed it though). The curious thing is that the *.jpg and *.mp4 files got deleted from all folders and subfolders, not only from DCIM and even from the sd card.I'm not here for any recovery attempts, have done this already
Well this is not all. I've got some *.avi files on my phone (internal and external storage). Theses files were deleted too. BUT not at the same day as the other media files (*.jpg and *.mp4).
So this is the pre story. Now I wanted to know what can I do to discover what is causing this problem, because what's next? Is my phone deleting all my files in a few days?For me it seems like a script that is searching the whole device for media files and deleting them.
