Android :: Edit Past Market Searches?
Jun 25, 2010Type some long market search, and misspell it, search fails. Now, there it sits in the history, with ONE letter bad, but you can only do the same, incorrect search again by tapping it.Am I missing something, or is it true that I have to enter the whole thing over again if I miss one letter. Same applies to variations on searches, such as "red truckload of elephants" and "blue truckload of elephants" No way to go back and just change red to blue.

Jun 30, 2010I have a website that I have to log into and out of everyday. I usually do it from my phone to make it easier. I accidentally put in the wrong user name one day and now that user name is saved in there and I have to retype my actual user name to log in. Is there anyway I can clear the history somehwere so it wont save that one?

Sep 26, 2010I just got a BOGO with my wife for the Facinate. I switch from a fully rooted/ROMed Incredible. On both our phones, the Market loads and searches VERY slow on WiFi and 3G. My Incrediable loads/searches almost instantly while the Fasinate takes...3, 4, 5,..., 10secs at times. Downloads are slow too.

Aug 27, 2010I recently had my DI replaced due to a tech issue, but before I switched over I backed up everything using "My Backup Pro".
When it backed up my contacts, it backed up EVERYONE - including 550+ people I follow in Twitter. I did not have these as visible in my People (phonebook) list, just in Twitter. When I synced with my new DI, My Backup Pro installed every contact to my People list, as the app must have thought it was all part of my phonebook. I tried to make the list invisible like I had it on my original phone, but that did not work, so I deleted each Twitter contact manually from my People list. They no longer show in my People list (though are available to be made visible from Twitter).
This did not solve the problem. Any app that accesses my contact list (even Search People) displays the FULL list which includes my Twitter contacts. There is no long-press or menu options available to hide them.
I am willing to clear my contacts and upload the list again, as they are all backed up to my Google account, but I am afraid it would sync with the server and delete what is saved there.
Any advice on how to clear my contact list of my Twitter followers, or start over with my Google-saved contacts?
Android :: Updating Our Applicatoin On The Market Deletes The Saved SharedPreferences
Mar 9, 2009We have an online multiplayer game that saves some login information in the SharedPreferences. Our app is copy protected and everything was going really well until this weekend when we released an update for it. It seems that at least some of the people are having their SharedPreferences deleted when they updated too the new app. As you can imagine our users are furious because they're all loosing their profiles, and our ranking is dropping fast.
We've tried to reproduce this a hundreds ways but are unable. We're wondering if this could be related to installing a copy protected app over a copy protected app? Since that's the only situation we haven't tested and can't test.

May 19, 2010I'm having a problem downloading anything from the Market. I select a program, go to download it and I get the status bar saying 'starting download' but nothing else happens, I don't get the notification at the top of the screen saying it's downloading, nothing.

Jun 11, 2010Yesterday I opened up the Android Market to see if I had any updates. There were several, one of them was ROM Manager. The updates downloaded and installed except for ROM Manager. ROM Manager failed to download. After several attempts throughout the day it eventually downloaded, but didn't go past 100% downloaded, not even attempting (seemingly) an install.
I tried rebooting, uninstalling ROM Manager, clearing cache, etc. I still have this symptom. I reinstalled ROM Manager from the apk but the constant download attempt persists in the marker. Any ideas? I thought about clearing market data and installing from an apk, but I don't see any reliable looking downloads for the market apk.
HTC Droid Eris :: Default Home Screen Settings Not Saved
Feb 26, 2010I use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

Let us know what you have, what you prefer, what you've tried, and post some pics if you have them!What are the ups and downs of the protectors and the companies who make them?I bought the Sprint Screen Protectors, I had the anti-glare on and liked how it swiped but I messed it up after swapping phones and now have the clear. It's very sticky but I love how my screen pops, as my old one made it look pixel-y. IMO a good clear that swipes well is the way to go.

Just curious as to what I am going to mess up? Jun 5, 2010I am having some serious issues with my Incredible. My camera is now blue. It was working fine, but now it will not go clear at all. It is very very blue. Should I take it back or is there a setting in the phone I am missing. I have made sure the effects are set to "None" and I have also restarted my phone. Nothing seems to work.

Aug 18, 2010Android maintains search histories for the Google search widget, market, etc.
but you can't EDIT past searches.
You can't do variations of previous searches by changing or adding a word to the past search.
You can't correct a typo in a previous search..
The only option is to re-type the entire thing, while the phone displays the previous search with the wrong character, but not letting you fix it..
Personally, this is one of the most frustrating things about Android.
Google is all about searching, but they certainly got it wrong with Android's built-in search..
