Download unsuccessful - Cannot Download. The content is not supported on the phone.
After looking into this it became apparent that the PHP Magic, that handles the downloads from the website, recognises the file as a .zip file rather then a .apk file and sends the it a .zip, that the phone does not recognise.
Does anyone know a way to get PHP Magic to recognise the file as an apk so that file extension does not get changed and the phone can recognise it?
I have figured out how to clear what I search out on maps by deleting my maps updates, but I haven't come across a way to clear up my market searches. And no its not about porn, but I just hate anyone picking up my phone and asking me questions about why I look this and that up?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI installed an app yesterday, (appbrain web downloader) but couldn't get appbrain app to download, so I uninstalled the appbrain web app. Today I tried to update a couple apps, and niether would update- either I got a message that said download paused, with no way to re start, our it would just show it as downloading, but not making any progress. I tried to install another app off the market, just to see, and out wouldn't install either....
Tried-
Clearing market updater
Rebooting phone
Removing battery and re starting phone
going to titanium backup and wiping market data
I noticed that after I upgraded to 2.2, the "clear download history" option is now gone. It used to have "cancel all downloads" and "clear download history." So, does anyone know how to go about clearing download history?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had tried to download 1 attachment from my Gmail app on Nexus S. The attachment got downloaded. But the download status bar in notification view which comes when we drag it down is still there. I tried several things like restarting phone , deleting and downloading the related file again etc.
But still the problem persists.
i want to clear my market history. I know there is a way to do it with the G1 through root access, but the G1 has a different system of android.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I opened up the Android Market to see if I had any updates. There were several, one of them was ROM Manager. The updates downloaded and installed except for ROM Manager. ROM Manager failed to download. After several attempts throughout the day it eventually downloaded, but didn't go past 100% downloaded, not even attempting (seemingly) an install.
I tried rebooting, uninstalling ROM Manager, clearing cache, etc. I still have this symptom. I reinstalled ROM Manager from the apk but the constant download attempt persists in the marker. Any ideas? I thought about clearing market data and installing from an apk, but I don't see any reliable looking downloads for the market apk.
I just received a refurbished phone for the mic going out, now the phone will not download games. I tried angry birds and a few other games but not one will download. Apps download fine. I have done a reset but don't know what to do now?

View 6 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to download an app, it just stays on the "starting download" screen with the flowing bar. Nothing happens! Sometimes it says unable to download or something similar. I've updated to 2.2 on T-Mobile and dont remember ever having this problem before. It's really frustrating.
I currently cannot download anything, either via wi-fi or Mobile network.

View 6 Replies View RelatedLast night I tried to download some apps from the Android Market. It doesn't seem to want to let me have anything any more. It'll bring up the progress bar and says "Starting download..." below it, but never gets any further than that. I've tried clearing the cache already with no luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know Google is quite diligent when it comes to Data Warehousing. Beyond the simple 'Active Installs' and 'Total installs' I am sure they have a whole treasure chest of useful information like active versions, Android Release version, hardware, and uninstall reasons (based on the prompt users see while uninstalling) It sure would be nice if we could see (even a portion of) this somehow. Example - Out of 524 ppl to install version 0.5.4 80% uninstalled saying "Does not function", while only 12% of those on version 0.5.5 uninstalled. Wow Sure points to a bug in that version(0.5.4), how useful or at least it would be if we could see this stuff. If you think this would be useful, please star this issue; Share Market Statistics - http://code.google.com /p/android/issues/detail?id=4376 I know of 1 other ticket, but it is more focused on comments not quite on target; User Feedback - http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2150

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have published my app on Android Market. I have successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on my Moto Droid 10 days ago. My beta tester #1 successfully downloaded and installed the app from Market on his Samsung Galaxy 8 days ago. My beta tester #2 gets "download unsuccessful" when she tries to dowload app from Market on her Motorola Droid X at 2010-10-28 4pm Central Std time USA (10pm GMT). She tried several times over a 30 minute period. When I uninstalled and tried to download my app during this same time period, it took longer than I expected, then finished and said Google Maps had "successfully updated". No mention that my app did or did not install. My app is not installed on my phone now.
Developer's Console shows no problem, 20 downloads, 4 active, no errors, no comments. (This app is industry specific and not workable without subscription to a website, etc.)
Does Market work perfectly everytime? Does it have good times and bad times? If you think it may be my app that is the problem, what / where should I look for as the problem?
I'm unable to download anything from the market this afternoon - is anyone else having problems?
