I have figured out how to clear what I search out on maps by deleting my maps updates, but I haven't come across a way to clear up my market searches. And no its not about porn, but I just hate anyone picking up my phone and asking me questions about why I look this and that up?

I'm having a problem downloading anything from the Market. I select a program, go to download it and I get the status bar saying 'starting download' but nothing else happens, I don't get the notification at the top of the screen saying it's downloading, nothing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I opened up the Android Market to see if I had any updates. There were several, one of them was ROM Manager. The updates downloaded and installed except for ROM Manager. ROM Manager failed to download. After several attempts throughout the day it eventually downloaded, but didn't go past 100% downloaded, not even attempting (seemingly) an install.
I tried rebooting, uninstalling ROM Manager, clearing cache, etc. I still have this symptom. I reinstalled ROM Manager from the apk but the constant download attempt persists in the marker. Any ideas? I thought about clearing market data and installing from an apk, but I don't see any reliable looking downloads for the market apk.
What exactly does HTC Sense Clear Data actually clear? That may be a solution to reverting back to 5 homescreen pages instead of 7 without having to do a factory reset. Just curious as to what I am going to mess up? Will i just have to personalize the homescreen again, put widgets up, reconnect to fb, twitter, myfaves, etc. It's not going remove any 3rd party apps, just make me create new widgets, etc..?

how would I go about 'disconnecting' the app from the Market? Deleting the market link as if it were side-loaded?

- 1st simple version to download using a OTA server, clients accesss to an URL to download.
- 2nd version more complex to be published on the Market.
The question here is that the process to publish on the Android Market is under bureaucratic internal process and it takes a long time, so the idea do reduce the time to market is to provide an OTA version.
There is any possibility for users that download application via OTA to upgrade the application for version published later on the Market? (Both Application will be signed with the same key).
I know my question answers but since there's a lot of you who really spend your time scrutinizing your rank, downloads and all, I'm trying it maybe someone came up with empiric science on this one :
Does anyone understood even bits of how the market ranks apps in the market ?
I usually don't look at stats but following another post on this topic, I counted my rank in my category ... 565 ... Ouch that hurts! Especially when half the apps in front of mine, are crap apps with less downloads and ratings as low as 1 star :).
Not that it would make a difference being rank 250 instead of 565...But this is humiliating a little :s

For example, a user in my app progresses through these activities, one is launched from the previous activity: ActivityA -> ActivityB -> ActivityC if the user is now looking at ActivityC, and they hit the back button, they will go back to ActivityB. Is it possible to add a menu to ActivityC where the user can clear their activity stack, and then launch a new instance of ActivityA? In my application activity A, launches activity B (via startActivity) which in turn launches activity C (via startActivity). On activity C the user presses a menu item to return to activity A. When they arrive at activity A, I want only A on the stack such that if they click the back button they return to the home screen (desktop). This intent is then wrapped into a PendingNotification and used by a notification. So when the user clicks on the notification the intent is fired, the browser opens, but the notification is not cancelled. As my code is not the receiver of the Intent how should I cancel it?
