View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if I can add icons to the display that comes up when I swipe up from the home button on the Moto G.
Currently on the display is the Google icon which takes me to Google Now. Is there a method of adding more icons to the display?
e.g. Swipe up for Google Now
Swipe right for Chrome
Swipe left for Whatsapp
There looks to be plenty of room on the display which got me thinking.
"swipe to archive/delete in notifications" function in Gmail 4.3? Specifically, not being able to?
After upgrading to Gmail 4.3 on both of my devices (TF101 running Team EOS 4, and One S running LiquidSmooth 2.1), I had the ability to archive/delete from notifications. However, I noticed that this function was missing yesterday; it's gone back simply to "swipe to dismiss".
I've tried reinstalling, to no avail.
are there any shortcuts available? for instance, on the iphone while listening to music and the display turns off, I could double click to home button to display the player's controls. also, i think i saw in another thread that the captivate does NOT support headphone controls.. this stinks. my headphones have a button where I can pause the song.. or use it to answer the phone I receive a call.

You can control the screen brightness, by swiping right or left, up where the notification bar is. if it doesn't work, try turning off power saving mode. settings>sound and display>power saving mode uncheck

With ScoreCenter the notification has no title but the notifications can go up to 3 or 4 lines and the whole info is displayed. View 1 Replies View RelatedLeading up to my purchase of the new EVO I familiarized myself with some battery-life-saving tips. One of the tips was associated with reducing the number of Widgets on the Home Screen(s) that are pulling data in the background.
QUESTION: if one doesn't use widgets but uses App icons and Shortcuts does the addition of those NON-widget items cause the associated apps to launch by themselves in the background MORE THAN if they were NOT "short-cutted" onto the Home Screen pages??
I'm trying to determine how/what I'm doing that might cause apps to launch in the background when I don't really want them to. I'm using Advanced Task Killer to see what is running in the background and have NO CLUE why some stuff is turning on when they do. A recent LARGE list of running apps that I did NOT turn on coincidentally coincided with some Home Screen short-cut non-widget add-ons I recently placed.
So every time you guys are flashing different roms and stuff, are you starting from scratch downloading all your apps and configuring widgets and your home screens and all that stuff?I'd like to play around with different builds but the thought of setting everything back up, potentially multiple times, is daunting. Are you using something to backup/restore this stuff?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use latest Nova launcher (Premium) and CM11 (nightly). But the same happened with CM10 stable and nightlies.
When I install new app - shortcut doesn't appear on my homescreen. I remember long time ago (I think that was in ICS stock launcher) - shortcuts would appear. But not anymore.
Automatically add widgets checkbox is checked in the Play Store Settings.
I even reinstalled fully Nova. No success.
In Android, is it possible to display all pending calendar notifications (in case the phone just booted and no notifications has occurred yet)?

I guess what I'm asking is if there's a way to "clone" your Droid, not just the SD card.
I have A LOT of apps on my Droid. Way too many, but that's a subject for another day. Getting to them on the default menu is impossible, its WAY to much scrolling. My home screen space is very limited - the left side is a full screen calendar, and the right side is a nearly full screen task list. The main home screen loses some space to a clock widget, so I end up with only a 4x3 space on my center screen to work with. Given all of the apps I have and all of the functions they do, this doesn't work. I need direct & instant access to at least a dozen things on the home screen, Plus much more a few clicks away. I have thus far found TWO decently sound organizational options for my Droid, but neither quite do it for me. Hopefully you guys know of another one that I have not yet found.Folders on the home screen. Put things in folders.Problems: Despite ability to name folders, Grey folders all look the same, making it harder to quickly grab the one you want when there is a screen full of them.impossible to nest folders (this feature alone would solve my problems)Folders don't auto close, pressing the home button takes you back to the home screen with the folder still open (yet one more button to hit to close it).Great app on the marketplace called "Apps Organizer"Pros:makes a list of all your apps, then lets you assign label(s) to them (like gmail). Then you can create shortcuts on your home screen to a specific label.Lets you select a unique Icon for each label.
Problems:When you click on the shortcut to open up that category, the tray of Icons is TINY. Significantly smaller than normal. This makes reading text labels of the apps "legible", but only with good eyesight. No nesting. No shortcuts to gmail labels, direct dial, direct messaging. So those groups of icons all have to go in the folders the plain grey indistinguishable folders.Temporary workaround:Create a folder for gmail labels, direct messaging and calling "folders" on the home screen.create 1 "reorganized" apps menu folder on the home screen that would link to ALL the apps, organized by labels into 6-8 categories. No more endless scrolling for the "occasional use" app.Create half a dozen labels for HIGH use applications and place those on the home screen for direct access to those categories.None of the options presented REALLY get the job done. grey indistinguishable folders remain, I still have to launch everything out of the TINY icons and text used by Apps Organizer, direct message, email, calling, labels still needs some work. Any suggestions? Am I missing any options in the above, or other ideas that would enhance this spit and duct tape organizational system?
So, I'm just switching from the iPhone and I am getting used to how the Droid pushes out it's notifications. The iPhone obviously didn't have apps running in the background and it completely relied on push notifications. I am trying to figure out what programs I can kill in Advanced Task Killer that won't block from notifications coming in. Is there any way to tell?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got my hands on a Sprint Samsung Moment couple of days ago and already am missing my little HTC Touch Vogue(Customized with Windows Mobile 6.5). I was always flashing all kinds of custom ROMs into the Vogue and realize it's not that easy on these android phones. Anyway, I would like to know if there are android apps that will display the Flip clock with the weather and also if there are widgets or apps which will display the email, text message and missed call count on the desktop. I don't care for the notification bar so much.
On another note, I am using K-9 Mail for email but now I get notification from both the stock email client as well as K-9. How does one make K-9 the default? The latest version of K-9 has taken out the Email frequency check from the settings so I'm not sure hot to set the interval for email check.
Looking to see if there's an existing method or application to increase display size for all applications for people with bad vision.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking they are problems with the apps. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have seen quite a few posts about FB notifications. However I don't get any of these. But I installed the Android version since the HTC version didn't have an Inbox. Is that why I don't get Facebook notifications, ie is that a difference between the 2 apps? The only notifications I get are emails that someone commented etc.
With the Blackberry version, those emails come in, but the FB app knows to take them over and remove the email so you aren't inundated with FB updates in your email Inbox.
I'm trying to figure out how to stop the notifications everytime an app is updated automatically. The updates are good; just don't want the notifications. It seems to be for almost all my apps that are updating.
In the Google Play Store settings, I have unchecked the Notifications checkbox, but that (surprisingly) did not do it.

I just allowed the latest software update this morning, and since then most apps will only display sideways (or landscape). By "sideways" I mean with the longest screen width horizontal rather than vertical Previously apps such as Gmail and Internet would display normally, and when I rotated the screen sideways it would rotate the display and resize the screen automatically. Now, it just automatically displays sideways but I cannot get it to display normally.Oddly, it now also rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise, which I don't think it did before but the real issue is not being able to view screens without rotating the phone now. Was that intended because I hate it!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid since November and I guess I went into autopilot since because I never had a problem doing this. But now that I had to replace my phone, I no longer know how to set any 'ole mp3 file as a notification or ringtone in other programs.
For example, I used to be able to go into the messaging or Google Voice app and from there choose the "select ringtone" and then be given a list of apps I had that let me browse through ALL of my mp3 files. Now when I choose "select ringtone," I'm only able to access the system ringtones and notifications.
So what app do I need to download that'll enable me to browse through all audio files for any app's notifications and ringtones?
