In Android, is it possible to display all pending calendar notifications (in case the phone just booted and no notifications has occurred yet)?
I would like to show a notification that displays the progress of an ongoing operation. That works well for me. But at the same time the remote view should contain cancel button to stop the ongoing operation. The usual content intent should still do something else, i.e. not cancel the ongoing operation. It seems though that I can only have one intent. Code...
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet's say I have a background service that performs several tasks. As it completes task A, it posts notification A with a certain intent and some extra data that indicates viewing result of A. As it completes task B, it posts notification B with a certain intent and some extra data that indicates viewing result of B. As it completes task C, it posts notification C with a certain intent and some extra data that indicates viewing result of C. At the end, the notification area has three notifications. Each one has the same intent, except for one of the extra data fields. I would expect that each one would load my activity with different extra data. They don't. When onNewIntent is called, each has the extra data field set to C. I have rooted out any possible aliasing and checked the data as it is placed into a notification. It seems to allow only one set of data per package. Is what I am attempting not possible? Has anyone accomplished what I am attempting? For example, have you had a service download several large files, and then had notifications that would open each of those. Code...
View 4 Replies View Relatedhow to display the entirety of notifications for Android. I would like to make all notifications look like ESPN ScoreCenter. With ScoreCenter the notification has no title but the notifications can go up to 3 or 4 lines and the whole info is displayed. With everything else, however, about 5-7 words are displayed and then it fades off and you can't read the rest. I'm on the HTC One X

Is there a way to get it to display the notification horizontally on the screen rather than in the standard vertical position on the lock screen?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use my phone to with two calendar accounts, one google-account for private and one outlook exchange account for company. I want both to sync so that I can watch the calendar (that works). I want my private account to notify me of calendar events (that works). But I do NOT want my company account to notify me of calendar events, because there are so many meetings, that its like SPAM (and I am already reminded by my laptop at work).
So: Can I turn off the notifications for a specific account?
To clarify:
- no I do not want to change the notifications on the appointments, because I do want to be reminded at work
- no I do not want to disable the synchronisation for the company account, because I do want to be able to look at my calendar.
It is easily possible to disable the mail notification for the company account only, but it seems not to be possible for calendar notifications?
I started using it for the first time yesterday and to my chagrin you can't dismiss an individual notification! I have to say google fails at executing terribly....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI played with the Fascinate today for more than an hour at VZW. I LOVE IT. My only question is related to the calendar. On my D1 I have many more widget choices including the calendar. This widget displays on my home screen and always shows my next appointment whether it is today or in a week. The next calender entry always shows. This is not the case for the Fascinate. It has a nice widget that shows weather, stocks, and at the bottom appointments. It only shows today's appointments. I downloaded a calender widget app that was nice and may work but it would not open so I don't know.
Now the question: Can any of you guys with the fascinate comment on a widget that allows the widget to display the next entry on the calendar. To be clear on my D1, if I have no calendar entries for today, my 10am meeting tomorrow shows up on the widget with a time and date. Can one do this with the Fascinate.
just got the phone a week ago.i'm using Google Calendar exclusively for all my date keeping. it's great to see that the default calendar apps sync with google calendar (GC)now, in GC (the web version) i set up the default reminders for new appointments to be a) email and b) sms.i noticed that, in order to get notifications on my PHONE as well, i need to add c) pop up to it. tested and that seems to work fine. will that pop up show anywhere else as well though? i never used that notification option before.and i noticed the following two annoying things:
1) default appointment notifications not set when appointment made using phone calendar application
when i make a new appointment from my PHONE, it shows up on the web version after a sync, that's all very cool. BUT then the appointment does not get assigned the default notification options (email and SMS), it only has pop up. any way to work around that? can't seem to find options for that.
2) when appointment made via application, web version of the appointment shows me as a GUEST who has confirmed that's a bit rubbish?! i.e. the experience is totally different from the appointments i set using the web version of GC.
know of an app that supports notifications for calendar invites in Android?
Coming from iOS, if I receive a meeting invite, I receive a notification an invite has been sent so I can review it before accepting etc.....I cannot seem to find the same functionality in Android.
As I am using IMAP for email, invites don't show up natively in the email app so I can't get a notification that way. I am using Caldav for my calendar (similar to the protocol I used on iOS) and so was hoping that invite notifications would be supported.
I want to create an event on my phone calendar and have that display in my Outlook calendar on my computer. What do I need to do to make that possible? Events created on my phone will not display in my Google calendar or my Outlook.
I have a Droid X2. I downloaded Google Calendar Sync to my computer which synced my Outlook with my Gmail calendar, and that displayed on my phone, but events created on the phone do not display in the Google calendar or Outlook.
I have gone to phone Settings > Accounts > checked Gmail to sync calendar. Google Calendar Sync on my computer is set for 2-way syncing and to do so every 15 minutes. The phone is rooted.
Looking for something where when i swipe down, i see notifications and a horizontal row of assigned apps.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI added the calendar widget to my main screen to display my Google calendar. It's not very usable though. It shows today's date, but not today's appointments. To see today's appointments, I'd have to click on the calendar to go into it. For future days, it doesn't even list all of the appointments, I just get "+1 more." Right now, it looks like this:
11 Aug Wed
Aug 12 - appointment
Aug 13 - appointment +1 more
Aug 14 - appointment
Aug 15 - appointment +1 more
Has anyone found a better calendar? I want to see everything that's coming up for the day on the main screen without having to click into my actual calendar. I just came from the Palm Treo and loved that calendar display because it was quick and functional. Not so much with the Droid X.
I had tried to download 1 attachment from my Gmail app on Nexus S. The attachment got downloaded. But the download status bar in notification view which comes when we drag it down is still there. I tried several things like restarting phone , deleting and downloading the related file again etc.
But still the problem persists.
Love my HTC Hero but two things are bugging me and I'd love to sort them out.
Calendar notifications - When on lock screen and an appointment notification appears, my only options are to snooze or drag-to-dismiss. What I'd like to do is open the item, then have the options to snooze or dismiss. This is especially important when there are lots of appointments in the calendar.
The phone dialer - Any way of turning off the key sounds when using the phone dialer, nothing worse than having to enter a long number with boop-beep-bip-boop-boop-beep all the time.
I have referred the example given on: http://goo.gl/1uxXv , But it is not showing the exact DatePicker dialog as given in the book example, what i should do to display the same dialog box or Calendar instance in my application ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWithout having to add notifications to each one. I figured out how to add a calendar for all my contacts birthdays so that they automatically show up in my calendar (some of them even twice for some reason) but I see no option to add notifications to these. Someone on the forum helped me add the contacts birthday calendar and mentioned he had a 3-day advance notification in case he forgot to get them a gift.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with the calendar no longer sending me notifications of my events. At the beginning of the quarter (~25 September), it had no problems informing me of my events. Sometime around October however, it ceased to do this and I fear it may be affecting some of the conditions of my other application, Locale. Has anyone else had this problem, or know a solution?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just heard on a podcast that this was announced last year and I didn't even realize it was supposed to work. I have a Nexus 5 and 7 and the google calendar notifications always need to be dismissed on each device, they never sync the dismissals.
Same google and calendar accounts, using fruux. what gives?
I was wondering if there is an app that does this as I haven't been able to find one.
I don't like Flyscreen because it is slow and bloated IMO and it doesn't even have a calendar agenda view, only a monthly calendar view from what I can tell.
I'd just like a simple calendar view (Like the Pure Calendar Agenda widget, but on the lock screen) without other battery draining features.
The native calendar widget doesn't display the current days events only the upcoming ones. Is there a way to change this or a different calendar app that is better?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally got my work email sync'd on my Android phone (Outlook). However, all my annoying meetings from work are now popping up as "notifications" in my phone's status bar. I can't stand corporate meetings, which are a colossal waster of time, and i don't want to be reminded of all the meetings on my work schedule. I was able to successfully turn of the Outlook mail notifications on my phone (and I still get Gmail notifications, since they are two separate email systems, which is exactly what I want). How do I turn my "Outlook calendar reminders," but still be reminded of my Google Calendar reminders, which is my personal, and far more important, calendar?
