Is there any app that lets you set an alarm to go off when you get a notification (such as an e-mail or text). I don't get many text at night, so those that I do I would like to see. An alarm isn't necessarily what I need, but I need something to notify me more that once. This is the one thing I miss from my RAZR.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an media player application for Android, for which I need to handle any Alarm notification, and based on that I'll pause my playback. When the Alarm in snoozed or dismissed, I'll then resume the playback.
I googled a lot for the Alarm handling, but what I found was the way to enable Alarm notifications through code, set the intent and then handle it. However, no where could I locate just handling the Alarm notification part. I don't need to set the Alarm on, it could've been set by the user, and I don't need to programmatically. All I need is just handle that notification.
I have a problem with my evo. At times I do not get a notification sound when I receive a text message. Not until I check my phone is when I notice this since I gotten the text 2 hours prior. Its happened a couple of times already and recently just happened. I'm wondering if any of my apps such as launcher pro or others are causing this. I have my profile sounds to normal so I'm sure it should give me a ring.

I have no problem receiving email notification with my primary gmail account (personal), however I am not receiving notification of new emails on my secondary account (business). I actually have to go into my GMail app, switch over to second account and refresh. This asw you can imagine, is not ideally how I want to do business.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero for three weeks or so. After updating the visual voicemail after the initial purchase. Everything was fine until I received a text a week ago informing me that X sent me a voice SMS message and I had to call 408.970.0000 to listen. There was no notification on the visual voicemail native app that anyone had called me. Upon calling this number, I had four voicemails from the preceding few days that I never got. As of today, 11/15, according to the native voicemail app, I haven't received a VM since 11/4. In actuality, I've received many.
After calling sprint and explaining this to them and having "tech" support tell me to "disable WiFi to get my voicemails (!?)", I went to the sprint store. Several call to their support and their own tinkering resolved nothing but an overnight ship of a new Hero due tomorrow. Now, I do have handcent installed after having awake/up time issues (see other posts) with the native message app. Could this be somehow related?

I play on tribal wars game and the problem with this game that anyone can attack you anytime and you need to react very quickly.there is an android beta version of the game which gives you notification.is there any way to make the phone alert or play a ringtone or idk if a given app gives push notification?

I installed Gemini, and turned on the Notifications, but it tells me to disable any other notifications. Problem is, I can't find an option to do that anywhere.Long story short, if anyone knows of ANY calendar app for the Fascinate that will honor alarms/reminders, please let me know. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a daily recurring alarm set (M-F @ 6am). For some reason, the alarm icon in the notification bar just up and disappears on me occasionally, and I don't know why. The alarm went off this morning, but since I was asleep, I don't know if the icon was up there or not.
Here's the thing. I don't care if it disappears so long as I know that the alarm will go off. But, will it? I don't know for sure unless I see that icon up there in the notification bar (or on the lock screen) that tells me that the alarm is set.
I don't have any task killers or alarm clock applications installed. I once had a task killer installed, but didn't see the point in it so I uninstalled it. I had Kaloer clock installed, but uninstalled it for the same reason.
So I don't know what would be causing the conflict, or would be killing the notification, unless for some reason Angry Birds Rio just loves killing notification icons.
Android 2.2.2 on a Samsung Replenish.
Edit: I should add, when the icon disappeared, I went into the alarms and found that it was, in fact, still set and turned on. If I turn off the alarm, then turn it back on, the icon returns, but then disappears after a while. So, it looks like the alarm stays on, but I still that apprehensive feeling of not knowing for sure because the icon isn't there.
At some point in the past (in a moment of foolishness), I installed some piece of software on my Samsung S4 that sounds an audible alarm whenever any notification appears on the bar. It starts beeping and will not stop until I swipe down. As my employer has insisted on a password, this is now often a minute-long process and very annoying and occasionally embarrassing.
Note, I like notifications; I just want to stop this alarm going off every time I get one from any application.
I cannot find anything intuitive in any list of applications or any other system list. How do I get rid of it?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got my captivate about a week ago and have been having issues with my alarm clock. I set my alarm to wake me up every morning. Some mornings I am up before the alarm goes off so I turn it off, or atleast I think I turn it off. When the alarm is on I see the clock in the notification bar. So when I wake up I click the clock icon and turn off the alarm. I no longer see the icon on the notification bar but the alarm seems to go off anyway. The repeat for the alarm is set at "once". I just go in every night and turn it on. It just seems to go off anyway even when it is turned off earlier in the morning.ks

It seems to happen when I get new notifications. I can see it happen maybe 50% of the time when i get a text, but have seen it other times just disappear when going into email or something. I can always get it back just by opening the alarm program i'm using.
I have seen this happen with the stock moment alarm and gentle alarm. Klaxon will disappear for a moment and re-appear at times when others would have probably disappeared.
For txt i'm using the application the moment came with. using gmail and moxier. not too much notification add-ons minus that except craigsnotifica.
any thoughts? i talked with the developer for gentle alarm and he couldn't reproduce it...
My notification and alarm sound has stopped working however when I go to play music off my phone it still works.
I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.
I tried several alarm clocks on my droid, and they all seem to have a problem. if I set alarms for 6:30, 6:41, and 6:52 am. Each with a different sound. If i snooze alarm 1, alarm 2/3 never goes off. i thought all 3 would be seperate, but it seems only 1 can be active at a time. unless im doing something wrong. this happens on the default alarm clock and, better alarm clock.

View 1 Replies View Relatedlast night I got tired of waiting for the 2.2 update so I installed unrevoked forever, 2.15 radio and the third wave rom from adrenyline. After all that went smoothly I decided to throw the standard clock undervolt hydra kernel in there too. After I did that I got sporadic reboots and the screen became very unresponsive. Also it seems to cause the phone to freeze whenever it has to wake up to play a notification sound or alarm...
Now I have to say that I had the same problem about a month ago when I tried one of the older Hydra Kernels, but I figured it would be fixed with the newer ones. My question is it seems that I am the only one with problems, all the posts I read about these things are positive with little or no issues. Am I installing it incorrectly somehow? Is anyone else having issues too?
The reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
How do I get rid of the ring notification that announces "Verizon Wireless" before sending or receiving any calls. I am going crazy knowing it has to be something silly.
