I have added a facebook account to sync with facebook sense and when I go to online directory it says I have zero friends when I try to refresh I get a connection error. I have tried to remove account and sync again but still no luck

I've seen quite a bit on this...but no resolution. My EVO is fine regarding the following...but my wife's is not: When I go to People (Contacts), hit the Globe icon for Online directories, then hit the Facebook icon (Facebook for HTC EVO) ...it is empty (You don't have any friends). Connected to that problem is the real issue: no Facebook link option for individual contacts (can't use FB photo or "View Facebook Profile" for that contact.
I've tried many of the suggested fixes...including removing and adding the FB program, removing and adding the contacts from SD card, rebooting the device. Also have been into "Accounts & Sync" and have configured everything imaginable with the FB account under "Manage Accounts".
Using MX Player. It worked best. All you have to do is have the username and password put in together into the URL after http, but before the URL of the video file. So lets say the directory is protected by the username FrancisFord and the password is Copola and the URL is URL...., you would enter this address when streaming from a URL:
URL.....Remember to remove the www from the URL and that the username comes first then the password seperated by a colon, followed by the @ symbol. URL....
So, I have video's uploaded to my personal site. I password protected the directory with .htaccess. The permissions of the videos are set to 777. If I surf to the directory of the video through the browser on my Galaxy S II, it asks for a username and password and then displays the files that are there. When I click on a file, it tells me that I cant play the video and thats with any video player I use. If I try to play the video in my browser itself by putting it into something like JW player, it also doesn't work. The only time it works is when I unprotect the directory. Then it streams it fine.
I am using A Samsung Galaxy SII (s2) or Epic 4G touch from Sprint. I have Cyanogen Mod 10, beta 2 with Jelly Bean on it. I use the built in browser and also Chrome. The video players I have tried using to no avail are:
Daroon Player
ES Media Player
MX Player
FPlayer
Rockplayer lite
Showtime Player panel
Stock Android Video player.
My HTC Desire's Facebook directory lists 205 friends for my Facebook, while in reality I have 207 (and Facebook for Android app of course shows them all, too)I'm not quite sure why or how 2 of them have gone missing, but I think one went when I messed a bit up, merged 2 contacts on my phone and started removing information from that contact, so it in the end had only 1 number and 1 facebook friend linked to it. Ever since I haven't been able to see the friend whose contact/link I removed in Facebook directory.I've tried uninstalling Facebook for Android to access Facebook for HTC Sense, but apparently it can't be completely uninstalled - only the update(s) for it, and the cache/data can be uninstalled for what I can tell.
So I've uninstalled it's updates, I've cleared it data/cache - and I've cleared all the cache/data from Facebook for HTC Sense too.I've removed my phone-linked Facebook account, too, with no luck.No matter how many times I try re-syncing or refreshing, the 2 contacts are still missing.One new contact that I added as my friend today appeared normally, though.Any ideas how to fix this? It's annoying when I can't link 1 contact to her Facebook, when I have pretty much everyone else linked to theirs.
facebook app (one that comes with phone) seems to have some problems loading notifications most of the time and also other unknown errors... like "Cannot retreive notifications.... [601/parse error... at position 57] and some others.

All the SE online help, the phone manual, phone electronic manual, even my phone carrier, all say that i can link my phone to facebook in my Online Service Accounts....Strange thing is that I do not have facebook listed there.

Ironicly i'm interested only in facebook. I've been searching this "bug", if that's what it is, for a while now, and I have not found anywhere mensioning anything of facebook not beeing listed there. Maybe I've done a poor search, but now I'm curious to see if anybody on this SE forum might know why facebook might not be listed in the Online Service Accounts.
I have my AIM and MSN messengers working fine on my eBuddy, but when i log into Facebook, it shows that i have "0" friends online!

The strange thing is that the parent directory is writable (canWrite=true), I can't print the execute file permission but from what I've read, write is what you need when creating directories... I have an app that instructed me to copy some data from my computer to the SDCard. So I plugged the Droid into the computer, mounted my Droid SDCard, looked at the directory, and copied the file. There are a bunch of files and folders listed (e.g. backups for apps, album artwork, etc.) as being on the SDCard. But when I go into Astro on the Droid and select "SDCARD" it shows "directory is empty." I don't get it. Why can't I see the folders and files on the SDCard that I can see on the computer screen?

View 4 Replies View RelatedQuick question when using Clockworkmod. It installed correctly using the downloaded exe. Program ran through to done. I boot up as normally into recovery leaving me at the Clockworkmod Recovery screen. From there, I open cmd and try to remove my various apps but i get errors.
What I enter:

/system/bin/rm /system/app/com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
What I get:

i have htc incredible and activesync is working fine for mail and contact.but i noticed, when i look at the account setting for by exchange account, that the calendar is getting a sync error - 'synchronization is experiancing problems.not sure what to do or where i can find more info on the issue. there are some events in my phone calendar, but others are missing.could it be one corrupt entry that is stopping things? any way to drill down (on phone or server) to figure out what the issue might be?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am rooted, s off, 2.15 radio, running Froyo from Incredible_Froyo_3.21.605.1_rooted_unmodified_sign ed.zip. Everything is running fine. I can access the SD card and the phone storage without any errors. However, I have a constant notification that reads "preparing phone storage.....checking for errors....." I took out the SD card before booting, and I still have the error message. Therefore, it is not the SD card. I have searched around and cannot find a way to get rid of the message.
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust updated to 2.2 and phone/sd card will mount to pc but then it randomly acts like it has been unplugged and plugged by in. For instance I was copying a 1gb file from the phone to the sd card and it was copying for all of 20 seconds then it was gone then it was back and wanted to know if I wanted to copy over the existing files that had been transfered before the disconnect (or whatever). It does this on both the sd card and the phone memory; anyone else have this problem? Have a solution? Oh, and this is done over the same usb cable I have been using for months without the slightest problem.
View 10 Replies View RelatedOn several occasions I have had the HTC Mail app stop syncing my work email from Exchange via ActiveSync. The calendar and contacts sync still appear to work, but mail stops flowing. If I look at the sync settings I see that when it tries to process mail a protocol error is reported and the sync fails. This has happened twice so far (about 7 - 10 days apart) and each time I've tried for more than a day to get the sync to work again with no luck. I've done things like deleting mail from the server around the time the sync stopped working, changing settings to get smaller amounts of email, cut out attachments, etc none of that fixed the probelm. What has worked both times is to delete the exchange account and then re-add it. As soon as I do this, it starts working again. For a while. I expect I will be back in this situation in another week or two. Clearly it's not a problem on the server side or a delete/add of the account on my device would not fix it. Has anyone else run into this and found a better solution than wiping out the account?

I have always purchased phones in the store. However to take advantage of the $30 promo code I am trying to order online. However, I do not see where it offers me the option to "upgrade" as I am going to be using my NE2 $100 credit. Towards the end of the online purchase it only asks me if I would like a new number or if I am transferring from another service. What am I doing wrong?

Just ordered a VZW Incredible today waiting a few weeks for it to come. In the meantime, is there somewhere online I can see it demoed? I'm an iphone swicher, and am used to Apple's posh snazzy videos showing me how to do stuff. Anything similar for the Incredible? Looking forward to being a part of the Android community, and being able to make and receive phone calls (as opposed to now on my phone).
