Who else is getting the error " [Malformed JSON] when trying to open the news feed in the Facebook app? Mine has been working on and off the past couple days, yet my girlfriends droid has been fine. I dont think its an isolated incident, because if you look at the comments other people are getting this error. I have tried logging out and back in, unstalling and reinstalling, rebooting phone, etc.

I am able to access my photos, friends etc., but when I click on News Feed, I get "No Content. An error has occurred while fetching data. MalformedJSON". Deleted/re-installed and made no difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I purchased my droid a month ago, all the pics on facebook for the live/news feed were showing up perfectly. About 2 weeks ago, none of the pictures display. They only have a "x" next to the update. At the bottom of my profile page, there is an option that shows: Photos: Off - On - Max. The setting is set to On.
This is the first problem that I have had with my droid. Actually I dont even consider it a problem just curious if anyone else has run into this. This morning my news feed wouldnt load any of the older posts. Then I uploaded a picture this morning 12/24 and it showed the date I uploaded it was on tuesday the 22nd at 4:28 PM.

I figured I would have plenty to pick from but haven't found anything good. I've found some good general news applications but the science sections have been rather slim on articles.
I love hearing the latest science and space news and just want something that will give me plenty to look at in a nice and pleasant way. Something similar that works similar to the Tech Buzz widget would be great.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen i first fired up the wildfire it had the news widget on the homescreen ready to go on BBC news. I liked the fact it automatically refreshed the news every so often. Now it has stopped working via the widget. I have tried removing and reinstalling the news widget but the widget just hangs on the message 'loading news'. I can still refresh the news headlines by going into the app but it seems an unnecessary hassle when it used to do this automatically. Why and how to fix this? The phone settings all lok okay.

Refreshing the stories just keeps adding them on, but it appears you have to erase them manually, which seems pretty bad given there are over 200 stories and growing on mine right now. View 2 Replies View RelatedI turned on my Droid this morning to listen to MSNBC and I heard the last 5 minutes of Keith Obermann (5:55 am est) and then all of my news and talk channels disappeared! Channels like CNN, C-SPAN, MSNBC and NPR are all gone from my favorites and the channel line-up. There is nothing in the "News and Public Radio" category.
Has anyone else noticed this? I'm thinking this must be a temporary glitch but I would hate to lose all of these channels. If you have the Sirius/ XM radio app, would you please check this on your Droid?
I'm having a small issue with Facebook on Android. However, I think it's an issue with Android itself, not the app. When I get an email from Facebook, and I click the link, my browser opens and takes to the Facebook page and asks me to log in. Why doesn't it open the link using my Facebook app? It doesn't even ask me which app to use, browser or Facebook (eg. if I have two different gallery apps, and I want to view a picture, it asks me which gallery app to use, and lets me set one as default at the same time). Is there any way to make Facebook links open the Facebook app, instead of launching the browser (or to have it ask me like it does with other apps)? The whole point of the Facebook app is so I don't need to use the browser to view Facebook.

I need to know how I can create an Intent to open MyTracks or any other application that I don't know what intents they listen to.
I got this info from DDMS, but I havn't been succesful in turning this to an Intent I can use. This is taken from when opening MyTracks manually.
I understand how to use intents and startActivity() when opening another activity within my own app, but how do you start a different app? specifically:
- How do you determine if the user has the needed app installed on their device?
- How do you start that app?
- How do you pass parameters to that app?
- How do you find all this info out for a specific app (say Adobe reader, or google maps)?
Is there any one know how to open an App when the Android OS start up, I have to do it in an embedded system?

How does it work? Is the market.android.com return some info to browser to help it open the Android Market application? or just the browser locally does the trick? Is it possible to set up an open URL who could do the same thing? For example, I have an app called MyBooks(com.mybooks.app) and a site like:
http://www.mybooks.com
an url could be
http://www.myboos.com/details?id=0001
And when Browser opens this url, the site will return some kind of pre-defined response, which might contains an Intent action string, like "com.myboos.app.action.VIEW" and the queried id 0001.
Browser could then try to start an Activity using that action
"com.mybooks.app.action.View",
if there is an Activity for that, start it and pass the id in. If not, it tries to connect another URL like
http://www.myboos.com/details?id=0001&installed=false
Is this possible to work on any version of the Android?
