I just got 2.2 but on first boot up, my SD Card has yet to load. I keep seeing "Preparing phone storage...Checking for errors"
Anyone else experience this? Im afraid to turn my phone off now because if its actually trying to read it, I may lose whats on there if I shut it off.

Since I got my 16 GB Card it's started saying it for longer than with my 2GB Card, however it says it less now. Does how long it takes depend on how much data you put on since taking it out of USB Mode? Because when I first got this card I wrote a lot to it (Moving all my files over), but now I just put a few files here and there on... Is there a way to disable this and let you run it manually at your leisure?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am rooted, s off, 2.15 radio, running Froyo from Incredible_Froyo_3.21.605.1_rooted_unmodified_sign ed.zip. Everything is running fine. I can access the SD card and the phone storage without any errors. However, I have a constant notification that reads "preparing phone storage.....checking for errors....." I took out the SD card before booting, and I still have the error message. Therefore, it is not the SD card. I have searched around and cannot find a way to get rid of the message.

View 15 Replies View RelatedJust updated to 2.2 and phone/sd card will mount to pc but then it randomly acts like it has been unplugged and plugged by in. For instance I was copying a 1gb file from the phone to the sd card and it was copying for all of 20 seconds then it was gone then it was back and wanted to know if I wanted to copy over the existing files that had been transfered before the disconnect (or whatever). It does this on both the sd card and the phone memory; anyone else have this problem? Have a solution? Oh, and this is done over the same usb cable I have been using for months without the slightest problem.

Posted Today, 08:16 PM My Kingston 16G class 10 sd card actually physically cracked and is therefore defunct but Kingston will be replacing it within the week - I foolishly do not have it backed up on my PC. I had rooted my Incredible with Unprovoked 3 and had been experimenting with a couple of Froyo ROMs using ROM Manager: Cyanogen6RG3 and Skyrider 2.5. I had just updated my Clockwork Mod Recovery (and to truly screw things up ) I had made full use of Apps2sd. Now, when I put my old SanDisk 2G sd back in, (all I had was 1 old nandroid backup on it) I am back to: Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon. So, I probably won't have my new 16G card for almost a week and I'm very open to suggestions as to my best plan of attack. I guess I should also think about repartitioning the new sd - according to the recent lag fixes. Please know that, for the time being, I'm pretty much command line challenged - so (perhaps foolishly) - I am doing all of this on the phone itself. I recently downloaded SDK to my PC and I was just getting ready to try to get the hang of adb, emulator etc - but I'm hoping I can get my phone back to where it was before I get into that project.
View 8 Replies View RelatedJust rooted my 2.2 Incredible tonight using Unrevoked3 on my Macbook. Everything was fine. I had RomManager and wanted to get Cyanogen, but I wanted to back up my apps first just in case. So I ran Titanium Backup. I wasn't sure how to do it, so I went to Menu>More>Create "update.zip". The phone started doing something, then it said it failed to create update and then the phone went dead. Tried powering back on, got to HTC Incredible screen, then screen went black and phone did 5 quick vibrations back to back and the green "new message" indicator light started blinking like I had a new email or something.
Tried powering back on, but nothing happened. Pulled battery, put it back, still nothing. Had to pull battery, plug phone into computer, put battery back in and then it powered on. Tried a Reboot, but that didn't do anything. Tried re-running unrevoked3, but it won't do anything because now my phone can't find any SD card or internal memory. Both are just grayed out. So even though my phone has 8gig internal and an 8gig external SD card in it, it's not showing either. I can't load a new ROM because it needs the SD card. I put the SD card into my computer and it shows all of my stuff on there, so the card isn't corrupted.
I still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Anybody else had anything similar? I've inserted the SD card into a mates laptop, and it recognizes it fine. Running a rooted handset with DeFrost ROM.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Huawei u8600 sonic rooted and with Cyanogen 9 ROM for this phone. Everything is working fine, but I noticed that sometimes my phone just doesn't find SD card. After reboot it works fine again for a while, but after an hour or two it happens again. There is no message about SD card being removed or something, it just disappears. I have most of my apps moved to SD card, so this really annoys me, because without SD card I can't use most of my phone's programs.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile i do like the way the spell checker integrates with the incredible there is one huge annoyance that i hope that there is a way around. When i'm typing a lot of times i'm typing a word that i want to use but i don't want added to the dictionary. How can you get the spell checker to get out of the way in these cases? I have found one way but its a major pain to do. You have to click somewhere earlier in your sentence and then click the end again to start typing. If you hit space it uses one of the suggestions or if you try to click what you've entered it adds it to the dictionary (which is not what i want).

View 4 Replies View RelatedQuick question when using Clockworkmod. It installed correctly using the downloaded exe. Program ran through to done. I boot up as normally into recovery leaving me at the Clockworkmod Recovery screen. From there, I open cmd and try to remove my various apps but i get errors.
What I enter:
adb shell
su
/system/bin/rm /system/app/com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
What I get:
/system/bin/rm /system/app/com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
/sbin/sh: /system/bin/rm: not found
So like everyone else I have to unplug my phone every morning and plug it back in until the light turns green once more to get a full charge. I'm am 99.99% positive that the incredible just stops charging once it reaches 100%.Every morning I unplug it and within 3 minutes it's down to about 89%. So I plug it back in and get ready for work and in about 20 minutes it is green and back to 100% (a real 100%). I hadn't really thought about it until I used Google navigation for the first time this weekend. My phone was at about 92% when I left for my 2 hour trip. I plugged it into my car charger, which definitely works, and was on my a way. I looked at my battery about halfway there and it said it was fully charged. So i reach my destination, unplug my phone and it drops from 100% to 58% instantly. The whole day I thought it was the charger but on my trip back home I used the navigation again and plugged the car charger in. I started at 42% and when I got home I was at 89%.So, it appears that once the incredible gets to 100% it just doesn't accept power from any charger anymore. Hopefully that can be fixed with an update. This was with the stock battery. I have no idea if it is the same with the TP2 or Seidio battery.I wish it was like every other phone I've had that still had a trickle charge even at 100%.
View 23 Replies View RelatedFor those of you using Pandora have you experienced an issue that after two to three songs Pandora just stops playing as long as your phone is stationary. If you have a phone and use Pandora can you do a test that you turn up Pandora put it down on the table and let it play for at least three songs and let me know if you have an issue. Now it needs to be on the network and not WIFI and the phone MUST be stationary.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have htc incredible and activesync is working fine for mail and contact.but i noticed, when i look at the account setting for by exchange account, that the calendar is getting a sync error - 'synchronization is experiancing problems.not sure what to do or where i can find more info on the issue. there are some events in my phone calendar, but others are missing.could it be one corrupt entry that is stopping things? any way to drill down (on phone or server) to figure out what the issue might be?

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe Inc is my first smartphone so I don't know anything about how the LED indicators work. When I get emails and texts, I get the green LED indicator that flashes. Is the LED supposed to keep flashing until you clear the email/text from your notifications panel? I ask because I got an email last night and I didn't check it until I woke up this morning and the LED indicator wasn't flashing anymore. If this is intentional, what's the purpose of having the LED flash for only a limited amount of time?

So yeah , My problem is when I'm listening to music and running navigation the navigation voice stops the music and it doesn't come back on I have to push play. Now coming from a rooted eris I had seen this problem in a rom or two, But now its happening on a stock incredible what can I do? Does anyone know of a fix? I mean I know I can trade it in for another refurb but that's kind of a last resort.

Unable to find active data or WiFi connection. Would you like to quit the application?" and gives me Yes or No options. Clicking No returns me to the Stations list where selecting any station returns me to the one previously playing and starts the next song when I hit Play.

If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.
Got my Incredible last Wednesday.It has been great.It does not seem to have any of the issues others have been having until last night.It started having problems with the ringtone.When some one calls it will ring but only for a second than it goes silent.I can still answer the call but I know I will miss calls this way.Also sometimes it is hard to open it up from the lock screen to answer call when this happens.Anyone else have this issue.I already did a battery pull and called *228 for a prl update.Still having issue. Of course when I took it to the Verizon store it did not do it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn several occasions I have had the HTC Mail app stop syncing my work email from Exchange via ActiveSync. The calendar and contacts sync still appear to work, but mail stops flowing. If I look at the sync settings I see that when it tries to process mail a protocol error is reported and the sync fails. This has happened twice so far (about 7 - 10 days apart) and each time I've tried for more than a day to get the sync to work again with no luck. I've done things like deleting mail from the server around the time the sync stopped working, changing settings to get smaller amounts of email, cut out attachments, etc none of that fixed the probelm. What has worked both times is to delete the exchange account and then re-add it. As soon as I do this, it starts working again. For a while. I expect I will be back in this situation in another week or two. Clearly it's not a problem on the server side or a delete/add of the account on my device would not fix it. Has anyone else run into this and found a better solution than wiping out the account?
View 26 Replies View RelatedBeen trying to update the radio and apply the latest ota , every time I get to apply the update.zip it runs and eventually stops with something similar to the following:
"Can't apply radio"
(No room on device)
"Can't apply firmware"
(No room on device)
Then I can reboot and I get the new droid screen, new widgets, etc. But no wifi, etc. I've done this about 10 times now so I admit I'm bit foggy after 18 hrs of reading and trying to apply froyo.
If I am listening to music on the stock HTC player, and at the same time am running navigation, the voice prompts in navigation are causing the music to stop playing. Usually the music would fade back in after the voice prompt, but the music is completely stopping and has to be restarted manually. Not fun on an 8 hour drive...
