I've tried pushing the bootanimation.zip using ADB, but every time it just boots with the new bootscreen. anyone else having this problem...anyone with a solution?

I've seen the Motorola Droid users doing this, but I'd like my own custom animation for the boot up screen on the Galaxy. Anyone know how you go about that? I tried copying a bootanimation.zip file in there as per the Droid instructions but looks like the Galaxy doesn't use it. Where are the boot up screen/animations stored on the Galaxy?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make my own boot animation (A simple android kitkat logo), but when I put it in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and reboot the phone, it goes to black screen.
I followed the steps described in that guide and read that post, but they didn't share the solution and the mediafire link is dead. I'm attaching my current bootanimation.zip
i cant for the life of me to get this to work. it allways boots up with a black screen.

My part0 folder is below could someone please write the desc.txt file, zip it and get it working for me please. I'd like it to stretch the width of the screen and the height doesn't matter. I have it currently at 480x240 and like it there. I've tried a few times but I keep getting the dreaded black screen.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI followed all the instructions on the other really long thread. I am having one issue though. I installed SDK and the drivers, that all went perfect. The only issue I am having is with the actual bootanimation.zip. I am thoroughly stuck. After I download a bootanimation.zip it shows up in winrar with 4 files (loading, eye, android, and the desc.txt) I know it has to go in tools. I am just not sure how? Do I add each folder or is there a way to add them all? I also know the name has to be bootanimation.zip. I tried a few different ways and pushed it to my Inc. But I cant get it to boot with the animation.
View 29 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the droid world but catching on quickly. i have a droid incredible, rooted and updated radio and running sky raider 2.5.2. i am trying to use a custom boot animation from droid boots. i have tried using adb and it puts the file in data/local but the problem i have is it still runs the one in system/media. i bought the root explorer app and followed another guide to pasting over top of original zip in system/media but then i get a message saying the file being pasted is too large and cannot be completed. i reboot and it hasn't changed still says sky raider. i know its a boot animation but i dunno its something for me to play around with.

Anyway, I can get it to look right when it is set to the center of the screen (480x427 not full screen) but when I set it to 480x854 (full screen) it gets stretched out. I was told the png files had to be 256x256 so I don't know what I could change so it doesn't look stretched. My animation looks like my avatar that I made and it looks just like it does here before applying the 854 settings. After seeing a lot of other custom boots mine isn't looking so good.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted a few days ago and did the forever S-off. I have ROM Manager loaded and was poking around in the system. I downloaded Skyraider and ROM Manager asked me to reboot. Not thinking it wouldn't let me know what it was doing when in recovery before doing something the rom had been applied. Now the Phone has for 40+ minutes been at the "HTC Incredible" boot screen.
I have read not to pull the battery but The power Button and Volume button do nothing so I could really use some suggestions. As a little more info I have not flashed the radio yet so it was a 1.x radio that a 2.2 rom was just seemingly applied to.
Bricked or recoverable? I have a Nandroid backup if someone can help me get back to that point...
I followed that totally guide to rooting and i want to do the boot screen that it shows but i dont see the adk recovery option when i boot my phone into recovery? i did the sdk think like it said but maybe it didnt work?

I tried to delete it from the it's directory /system/media/ but it says it is root only. What do I do? I cannot find anything that shows how to change around the boot screen...
View 3 Replies View RelatedGot the WSOD on a non-rooted, stock 2.2 incredible last night. Pulling the battery is the only way to turn it off. Recovery and Factory Reset from hboot manager hang at the htc white screen. Clear Storage also goes straight to the white screen. If turned off it'll charge. SD card is not corrupted. Phone was in close proximity to an iphone 3g for maybe an hour. (We'd been comparing the screens then the iphone was placed on top of the incredible while we ate dinner.) Noticed that phone was at the white screen. Battery was not warm. No signs of external damage. Either this is totally random, or the RF from the iphone managed to fry something.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen outside or in the car, the landscape brightness of my Eris is rather dim making viewing difficult but when I switch back to the portrait view the screen is of normal brightness. Inside, switching from portrait to landscape viewing is not an issue. This was happening while on 1.5 as well. I have looked and played around with settings but can not seem to find a solution. Any suggestions?Another quirk, that arose with 2.1, is the keyboard. It seems to easily go to all caps, numbers, or exits with the slightest variance off of the A, M or the space key. My daughter's Eris is having the same issue with the keyboard. Any suggestions for a better keyboard?Eris is my first smart phone and I am loving the experience.

View 4 Replies View RelatedQuick question when using Clockworkmod. It installed correctly using the downloaded exe. Program ran through to done. I boot up as normally into recovery leaving me at the Clockworkmod Recovery screen. From there, I open cmd and try to remove my various apps but i get errors.
What I enter:
adb shell
su
/system/bin/rm /system/app/com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
What I get:
/system/bin/rm /system/app/com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
/sbin/sh: /system/bin/rm: not found
I have written an application(.apk) which i would wish to be run on boot-up . how to implement this?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have htc incredible and activesync is working fine for mail and contact.but i noticed, when i look at the account setting for by exchange account, that the calendar is getting a sync error - 'synchronization is experiancing problems.not sure what to do or where i can find more info on the issue. there are some events in my phone calendar, but others are missing.could it be one corrupt entry that is stopping things? any way to drill down (on phone or server) to figure out what the issue might be?

I take absolutely no credit for this, just saw a thread somewhere in the incredible forum about a boot animation and did it. Takes no ROOT, just install the SDK and a small amount of knowledge on how to use the ADB tool. Here is a video of it on my EVO.
