When running on droid X my app does not show buttons that are written in xml. I only found this after releasing my app and users reported it. This XML code does not appear on Droid X.

I am able to play a video using VideoView in combination with MediaController. The problem when I started my activity , a bar appears below with media controllers play,pause,rewind ,progress bar representing video. But it disappears after displaying 1 second. Then I how can I make this media Controller bar with controls to display as long as my video plays so that I can pause,rewind my video.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSeems that when I create a new text message and try to start typing a contact name, not all of my contacts appear. It seems random. I have tried restarting but say I have a Peter and Paul in my phone, if I type a P it might only show me Paul and not peter. Usually, is the same names that never show up they never appear or disappear. I'm not rooted and I have done nothing nefarious with my phone that may cause this.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm running Evil Eris 2.0.1, and about 20 mins ago I plugged in my phone and it says debugging is enabled, but the USB options screen, with mount, charge, etc. didn't appear. What I was doing was trying to get the eclair lock screen, so I had installed the .zip through the restore screen. When I rebooted, I could no longer see the screen. I tried removing startup manager, which people said caused problems, but still it didn't work. I restored to a nandroid backup from before the lock screen change and that didn't work. I'm restored to an earlier backup when I knew everything worked and when I boot, debugging comes up but the usb options do not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRooted Motorola Droid 1 running UD8. Having trouble with my apps that are on the SD card not appearing using LauncherPro. Getting to be very frustrating. Appears that LauncherPro loads faster than the SD apps. I have been successful in "Restarting" LauncherPro in the "Setting, Preferences" tab. When LauncherPro restarts the apps are then their for use. This does not happen very often when I aas I go on. Very, very frustrating to have apps on Droid and not being able to use them. Any help will be appreciated. Ready to move on to something else if I cannot get a working runnaround. This is what the window with the SD card apps that do not work looks like. This is the message I get when I try to use one of the SD card apps. This is what it looks like when I go into "Menu, Applications" to look at my apps. Stays this way forever. Raging Thunder game Theres a pt.2 but aso not available. More icons paid Latest swype. to name a few. is there anyone else that has this prob? I emailed an app dev, about this issue and he replied "for some reason your phone doesnt allow you to list copy protected apps after updating." then suggested i contact market/google support. i went to the link and no email. just a link to FAQ. Maybe this supposed 2.1 official from htc leak isnt the %100 complete version. If so oh well, there would be a rom updated for that one as well if thats the case. I am pretty satisfied w/ the currrent build. I think its great.

I do apologize if I missed it somewhere so if its out there please feel to direct me there.Picked up the HTC Eris about 2 weeks ago. I've started noticing a very strange issue as of last week. Using the stock messaging app I keep all my text strings with my various contacts. So let's say I have 7 different text strings in there now all from 7 different people. Now, for whatever reason, If I receive a new text message from a new person it will throw that new person's text into an existing text string of one of the other contacts rather than creating its own separate text string. Make sense? Just mixes it in there. So for instance, If I have a previous string from me to my wife it will throw a new text from my mom into my wife's existing text string. If I attempt to reply to that text sent from my mom that went into my wife's text string then my wife will receive the message. And its totally random. I've noticed this with 3 different contacts. So its just not one specific contact. And its literally like 6 or 7 people. Its not like I have a huge backup of text messages.
Now as I've mentioned its only about 2.5 weeks old. I don't throw alot of apps on there (I think I have 6) and I've rebooted this thing twice. I've taken it to Verizon and the guy there didn't know what to make of it. Said I might have a defective phone or possibly try a factory reset. He also mentioned waiting for the update and if its not corrected by then I can get an Eris replacement. Anyway, I wasn't ready to switch it out yet cause I love this phone and am hoping someone out there has maybe seen this issue and maybe can tell me what the heck is going on. Thanks in reading this and I look forward to any possible suggestions.
I have 2 gameloft games and the 183 "sound" files show up in the music app. Does anyone know of a way to have them not appear in the list of available music? They're listed under "unknown artist".

As it stands, the application Im writing has 4 different screens:
1. Screen 1 - list of nodes (main screen)
2. Screen 2 - options menu, tableLayout with buttons
3. Screen 3 - navigation
4. Screen 4 - text details on version etc
These screens can be navigated to/from using a "header" View that is placed on top. the header then has 4 different buttons:

The header is just an XML-file (header.xml) with a few buttons. That header.xml is the included in the Layouts using the include-markup. For example, the main.xml has the line:

The header show up alright, but the question is - what is the correct approach to attach OnClickListeners for the buttons in the header?

I'm trying to add buttons above a tab-widget but they are always displayed under the tab-widget's tabs. The buttons are displayed on front layer so that they appear on each tab. Does anybody have an idea is it possible at all to display any widgets above the tab-widget?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I comment out setContentView(boardView); in my Game.java my custom view in BoardView works fine and displays everything nicely... but onSizeChanged never gets called in BoardView.java... so I can't read the device width and height at runtime. If I leave setContentView uncommented onSizeChanged works... but the screen is blank! I want to be able to read the screen width and height at runtime and set the sizes of my ImageViews at creation so they are the optimal size.
