I have 2 gameloft games and the 183 "sound" files show up in the music app. Does anyone know of a way to have them not appear in the list of available music? They're listed under "unknown artist".

So, I'm not a huge music buff but I decided to put some on my Evo to get the full effect and use of this phone. However, now that I've uploaded like 1000 songs I notice that there's alot of sound files from games I've downloaded and it is kinda irritating to finish a song and hear "your on the green!" (from that golf game) or "he's on your six" (from Hawx). I'm guessing this is a default folder that the games are saving sounds to but is there a way to fix this?

I know that in the Settings application you can choose a default notification sound from a list. Where does that list come from, and is there a way for me to display the same list in my application?

the problem is now when im going to my music i can see there all of the game BGM's there are like 200 of sounds effect and i barely can find my music in there.
is there any way to disable the game music display? so i can see only my music in the songs list?
If I try to create a new contact on my HTC Magic, it will confirm that it has been created but will not appear in my contacts list. Alternatively, it will appear, but will not be there next time i look in contacts. This is a recent fault and is driving me mad.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen your intent kicks knocked on the head by the OS and then restored / recreated (for example when you slide out the keyboard on the G1) if you have a ListView populated with items in an activity they appear after the recreate. However, if you have a dialog box full of list items and do the same steps, the ListView comes back up empty when the window is redrawn after the slide.
Is this an Android bug? My list is a pain in the neck to pack into a bundle, it consists of Address objects, and there might be ten of them. Am I doing something "un-android?" I'm thinking of just dimissing the dialog when this happens. But calling dismiss in onRestore (for the dialog) doesn't seem to work.
Am now onto my second Sony Ericsson Xperia phone, as I am unable to compose a new SMS message. ALthough I have imported all contacts from SD memory card, and they appear in my contacts and if somebody is to call or SMS me their name appears but when I go to send a new message no names appears just lets me type their name but does not allow to send the text as there is no number?
I really like this phone and do not want to have to get a 3rd one or change phones altogether.
SIM card does not work effectiviely either. SOme numbers come up with a search but I almost have to type the full name - cannot just enter say "D" and all names appear under that letter.
Vodafone and Sony Ericsson are unable to provide any further advise as I have completed factory data resets, un and reinstall software updates. Sony Ericsson has said they have not had another feedback like this?
I am using mp3 sound in my game (used wav format also) while playing sound I get problem as "obtainBuffer timeout (is the CPU pegged)" and then sound gets played after some time i.e it is not synchronized with the game play.

I've tried putting them in /media/audio/ringtones as well as the .nomedia text file solution, but unless I am doing something wrong, or it just works differently with this phone, the files still appear in the Music Player app.

I have tried restarting but say I have a Peter and Paul in my phone, if I type a P it might only show me Paul and not peter. Usually, is the same names that never show up they never appear or disappear. I'm not rooted and I have done nothing nefarious with my phone that may cause this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRooted Motorola Droid 1 running UD8. Having trouble with my apps that are on the SD card not appearing using LauncherPro. Getting to be very frustrating. Appears that LauncherPro loads faster than the SD apps. I have been successful in "Restarting" LauncherPro in the "Setting, Preferences" tab. When LauncherPro restarts the apps are then their for use. This does not happen very often when I aas I go on. Very, very frustrating to have apps on Droid and not being able to use them. Any help will be appreciated. Ready to move on to something else if I cannot get a working runnaround. This is what the window with the SD card apps that do not work looks like. Problem:
If I boot up the media player and select a tune, it plays but I cannot hear it
If I fire up a youtube video, it plays but again I cannot hear it
The only thing that works believe it or not is turning the thing off and on again. However a while or if I exit the youtube app or whatever it then looses sound again.
I just noticed a very unpleasant thing about the wildfire - while listening to music (or when playing any other sound), I can hear subtle hissing in the background. It is almost unnoticeable when I'm outdoors and there's noise outside, but it prevents me from listening more quiet music like jazz at home.
Can anything be done about it? Do you people also hear that (you have to be in complete silence and use decent headphones - the hissing is easy to notice as it disappears after 2 or 3 seconds after you pause music). I was so happy about my wildfire - I have 16gb sdcard so I thought it would make a great mp3 player.
i picked something as the default (ringtones) and want to be able to pick from my music for notification sounds. how do I switch it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSince I installed 2.1 (betas and now official) the notifications mute any music or podcast I am listening to through the headphone jack. If I'm using the internal speaker, the notification plays, but the music or podcast is still audible. Is everyone else having this happen, and if so, is there a workaround?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed a couple days ago that some of my sounds aren't working on my Droid X. Ringtones, alarms, notifications work. Audible touch tones, audible selection, keyboard typing and some other sounds in games are not working. Also, when rebooting the "droid" sound isn't playing (not sure if that was taken out with froyo.) About a week ago these sounds were all working so I know it wasn't the update that killed them. And yes I've looked and made sure that all the checks were selected for these sounds.
