Does anyone know where to get started if I wanted to change the lock screen? I can't find any information about what intent to hijack or anything like that.

I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

So my need is a lock screen replacement application that requires you to type in a password (numerical or letters) doesn't matter. I just hate the swipe to unlock and the tap home to unlock on the Samsung Moment. I don't care about looks so much I just want a functioning app to do what I ask.

View 49 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to create a lockscreen replacement at the application level that replaces the device's security lock, whether it be PIN, passphrase, pattern or face unlock, or potentially a new method? I know it's possible in the framework level, and have done it before, but I'm just wondering if it's possible to do it at the application level.
So far the few lockscreen replacements that I've tried only implement a slide gesture unlock lockscreen UI, and falls back to the device's security lock after that.
What is a good free lock screen replacement? I tried lockbot, but it changes style on every lock, and it has some weird bug where if I use the button to lock it, it goes black, then the unlock screen appears (screen doesn't turn off). I do not care much about theming it myself as long as it has a halfway decent theme to begin with, but I do not want to pay for it (yes, I am cheap :P ) and want to get rid of the lag associated with the default lock screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm hoping for some pointers. I simply want two buttons.. nothing more, to allow me to control my music.I know, I know. "Why not just use the music widget?" Cause it's ugly (in my opinion).With Bettercut, I'm aware that you can create your own shortcut, but you have to have the source code or some sort of.androidaction.blah in order to create it. I'm just curious if I could use that or if there's something out there that's better.I don't need to know the artist or the song that's playing, I just, well, I miss the days of double clicking my home button and hitting next or stop with my iPhone. That's what it boils down to. So, if there's a way to get the music controls on the lock screen... well, that would even be better.Anyone have some suggestions? I have searched and searched for some sort of resolution, but it's been to no avail. Or, I could have just been searching for the wrong thing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was using the camera this morning and after a few seconds the screen started flickering, it then turned a shade of purple and the view split so the bottom of the picture appeared at the top. I rebooted the phone and it was fine for about 30 seconds and then did the same. Second reboot and it appears to be ok. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? All software is as standard the phone has not been rooted (yet).

I have a samsung vibrant. Every time i plug it in its charger, the lock screen will not lock amd if m doing something, the sensitivity of the screen will be thrown of. It doesn't do that if i plug,it,in a computer usb, it doesn't,do that and charges normally. Is that a wide spread issue.

I am plan B and AVG security installed, both don't always work, I have pattern lock on the phone but even in pattern lock mode when i press and hold power button the phone gives me option to shutdown.
If someone steals my phone they will be able to shut it off without unlocking it since holding down power button still works. So is there a way to lock the power button from shutting off phone when the phone is in pattern unlock mode?
I cooked this up and wanted to share. By following the instructions here I was able to customize my N1 homescreen with the 3rd greatest British rock band; The Who! You will need ADW or LauncherPro and Desktop Visualizer and of course photo editing skills if you want to make a custom screen.

Maybe I double pressed the powere button after the power on had started, but as soon as the droid eyeball screen came up, all images on the screen were in negative. This continued through the home screen loading until I turned the phone off and restarted, getting normal colors.

A few days ago the GPS notification icon started popping up at the top of my screen at random without me even running an app that requires GPS. I have tried to kill any app that potentially uses GPS with taskiller, disabling GPS all-together, and rebooting my phone to get it to go away. The only temporary solution I have found is to enter and then exit google maps. That works for a little while but then, bam, out of nowhere the little satellite icon appears again. I don't mind if it is just a little glitch and my GPS isn't actually being accessed, but if it is, that is a serious hit to my battery life. I haven't noticed a dramatic change in battery life since it started happening but I do seem to get less time out of the phone. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is it a big deal and how do you fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wifes Incredible started shifting the home screen to the right without any touching. When its centered the screen begins swiping to the right as if a finger was there. In "all programs" it starts highlighting apps as if I was touching them but I am not. I have tried G-sensor calibration, keyboard calibration, restarts and the closing of apps but cant find where the trouble lies. Is it possible the touchscreen is now defective?

What I mean is that I need a phone lock for security reasons - however it is a pain to use it every time I turn the screen on. Is there a way to have it work only when you turn the phone on? Right now if yu don't have a phone/screen lock security set if someone steals your phone they take out the sim card and use the phone normally ... if you do have it, then you must use the password every time you want to use the phone (I hate it). I know the best thing is to have a secured access but I was just wandering if it was possible to do seomething different?
