Sprint HTC Hero :: Not Getting Any Notification Sounds

Sprint HTC Hero :: Rintone And Notification Sounds?
Nov 3, 2009I love my hero, but I really am a noob when it comes to all of this. I used to just used Myxer and Phonezoo to get my ringtones.
1. Can someone post a walkthrough to get new ringtones onto the Sprint HTC Hero?
2. Can you get tones through Myxer still with the Hero?
3. Also is there a way to have different notification sounds for txt, emails and voicemails?
Update...figured out a much easier way...after I did some searching and figured out how to add the folders I started using phonezoo and just saving the files on my computer and then transfering that way. Also using Ringdroid works to create some from music already on my hero.

Jan 6, 2010Has anyone found a good website for downloading Notification sounds? I know you can create your own with ringdroid etc...but I am lazy and I just want to DL some to my computer and trasfer them to my phone.

Oct 16, 2009Basically I want to set a different notification sound to each of my different email accounts that I have setup in the mail app (not the gmail one, but the one where you add IMAP accounts) I don't think it's possible since it seems like it should be a function of the mail app and not the system...but there's no place in the mail app to set a sound (that I can find).

Aug 13, 2009So the one of the first thing i did when i got my hero was to stop the htc message service n went to chomp sms, awesome app. anyway i wanna change the notification / message sounds to something not in the default list. basically i wanna crop a music file on my phone and have it as a message tone like u can and i have done with my ring tone. i was expecting for there to be an option to chose what i set the tone as.
what i mean is, when ive cropped a file you get an option to 'set as ring tone' or set as 'contact tone'. no option for notification sounds. ive also played about in the chomp settings and i can only get a list up for default sounds. am i just being stupid and dont know where to look, or do i serioulsy have to keep the crap htc sounds? ive got a peter griffin soundboard, if i click n hold on a sound it pops up with set a tone and notification, and i can set that as my sound but i dont want that, i wanna crop a music file.
HTC Hero :: Find Out Causing Notification Sounds?
Jun 28, 2010Can anyone tell me how I can find out what is causing notification sounds?
My Hero will, at times, beep randomly, but leave nothing in the notifications bar. If I open a task manager I can see that HTC Checkin Service and Settings are the only things running. This process will repeat, whether I close the apps or not, and run the battery down.
Is there some kind of system log I can look at to find out what is causing this? It seems weird that the phone would make the sound but leave no evidence of a notification.
HTC Hero :: Cannot Get Text Message Notification Sounds To Work
Jan 19, 2010I absolutely cannot get text message notification sounds to work. At all. It stays on the stock sound. I can change it to any of the preloaded stock sounds and click ok but when I get a text it still plays the stock sound. I also tried using custom and that didnt work either. I have searched and searched and found nothing. And I am using the proper folder structure on the sd card for the customs. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Im getting very frustrated.

Feb 25, 2010SO i pushed the volume rocker down all the way to silent on the sprint hero for my weekly office meeting, thinking that the phone was completely muted, and then I opened up gang wars on the phone and it started BLARING rap music on full volume through the speakers!!! WHAT IS WITH THIS??? Would the stupid phone know to mute everything? Or did I do somethign wrong and not doing this properly? My old treo had a volume kill switch on the top of the phone and NO sounds would work. Is there any way to quickly MUTE all sounds without having to also go to settings sounds media and scrolling it down to zero?? also, even when i set the media volume down, a lot of times an app causes it to be set to high again. WHATS WITH THIS?

Oct 26, 2009Alright well I got my Hero on release date(After going through 3 Pre's! ). Well so far I love it. Battery life has been just fine(And thats with the system at 100% lol), and the apps are amazing. But I have a question. I noticed there's two LED lights at the top of the phone. Yet I've only ever seen one light up! Is this how it is for everyone else? Only my left one lights up(green for texts, and amber for charging). And my friend's G1's Scroll Wheel also lights up, and was just wondering why ours doesn't.

Apr 3, 2010i'm having an issue with my calendar notifications and looking for some help.i'm running the default calendar app that came with the phone and it is properly synched with my google calendar. the synching is working fine; in fact everything is great in that regard. the problem lies in that when i update something from my computer.say, i'm on my home pc and put in an event, even though it shows up in my phone, my phone does not give me a notification of the event.i have done a couple 'test events' and it appears that when i update an event from my phone, i get a notification.but when i update an event from my pc, my phone does not give me a notification.

But this time when I came back to it a few hours later the LED was blinking green>orange>green>orange>green>orange

I also was wondering if there is any way to "theme" the notification bar. I would really like to make it transparent, but I don't want to use open home or ahome. I am sure there is an image sitting somewhere that I can change? I just rooted my phone a few hours ago.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Gmail App / Unable To Get Notification
Oct 16, 2009I am realizing sometimes when I get new gmail, I don't get the notification even though notifications are set to ON and auto-sync ON. I check my gmail app and the new mail is there but it says Inbox(0), NOT Inbox(1) like it should be even though the new message is bolded in font like it should. Then when I delete the message it says Inbox(-1) This might be the reason I don't get a notification sometimes. Has anyone else encountered this?
