Jul 30, 2010I'm getting ready to put a new rom and its suggesting to put RA recovery 1.6.2. currently i have 1.5.2 and i know how to push it to the phone. My question do I delete the RA 1.5.2 on my phone then push or do I just push 1.6.2 and is that it? Is there more steps after placing a new Recovery Image.

Rotating the phone is super quick, with no lag like the normal rotation. Will the rotation be more like it is on floating image with 2.1? Or can Dev's take anything from this app and make the rotation orientation better for normal use on the hero?

May 8, 2010I rooted my phone last night following the guide and the help of a wonderful forum member and it went smoothly. I'm still on 1.5 and will stay here awhile 'till I get the nerve again to do a 2.1. I need to get used to the fact that I did just root my phone.
With all that said I have root explorer on my phone. I was going to use the list of safe apps that can be removed and I was going to cut and paste them into a backup directory in case I do something wrong. Does this sound safe and cautious? Or I was thinking about using Fresh Kitchen but I think I have to have that Rom on my phone and I don't want to go there yet. I would appreciate any suggestions on the safest way and easiest way to get rid of those apps.

I am running a rooted phone Fresh 1.1 and I am using pre-kitchen. Problem: I have tried deleting IM multiple times using Kitchen, but every time it reboots IM is still there. Debugging is on and I have made sure I am logged out before I tried uninstalling. Also, I am trying to get rid of GTalk since I am no longer going to use it either. But it does not show in the Market > My Downloads. Is there any other way of deleting it that you may know of?

Settings | Applications | Manage Apps
And noticed there's not always an option to Uninstall on these and some others.
Is it possible to remove, delete, uninstall, or get them off the device?
Is there any way to remove the pre-installed Sprint programs?

Sprint-Nextel
NFL
Nascar
Are there some "core apps" or "core programs" that can't be removed?
A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
