Is there a way to filter out messages coming into the phone from the exchange server? I used to do this on my Blackberry, but I can't make it work on the Hero. I receive emails for every engineering release that goes out at my work. On my laptop I can review the attached file, a SNP generated by Access. On the Berry and the Hero I can't, so I would like to not have them cluttering my inbox.

Running Zen and have noticed that my exchange account does not receive email when its set to "As Item Arrives" after a couple hours...
Its works for about an hour and then after the phone has been sleeping for awhile nothing shows up. Same thing happens when i have it set to pull every 5min. Help would be great...

I can sync with RoadSync, and with Touchdown, however thier interfaces kinda suck! (they don't populate the stock interface. ie: calendar, contacts, or mail) not only that, but they cost $!

I run a small business server (2003) with exchange 2003 integrated. By default, when installing, my exchange server is assigned a ".local" extention. Installation errors out all over the place if you try to use a ".com or net" etc. so even though I can add a public email domain to exchange ie: "mydomain.net", exchange still presents a certificate with the ".local" extension. Android dosen't give me an error log to confirm my suspicions; however when installing "roadsync" I get an un-trusted certificate warning AND the option to accept it. (similar with "Touchdown")
I've read a few "pre-reviews" of 2.1 and have yet to see any comments on better performance as it relates to syncing w/ Exchange Servers.Can anyone who has 2.1 loaded, that also uses an Exchange Server, comment on performance? I know that with 1.5, even though the settings are dictating the phone to sync upon arrival, there are times where it hasn't synced for more than a day.Just curious to see if this has been improved.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEveryone I tried to download an attachment from my Exchange email account, it shows a little clock icon spinning, then after a few seconds it stops and gives back an error: "Alert: Network Error". I tried to change the setting to various settings (such as downloading size, attachment download location, etc.) to no avail. I was able to download the same attachment from my gmail account so this seems to be exchange server mail related.
I have a Sprint HTC Hero phone with Fresh 1.0 ROM loaded. I am not sure if this is Fresh related but I vaguely remembered that I was able to download attachment before but I am not sure.
How do I turn on Exchange calendar sync? I can't find the option. I have my Exchange email setup and everything is working fine. When I set it up I told it not to sync my contacts and calendar because I usually sync my work calendar with Google Calendar Sync. However, I am now using Office 2010 Beta at work and Google Calendar Sync does not support it.
View 3 Replies View Relatedok heres the deal, i have my work email on my hero. i set it up before i rooted flashed fresh 1.1 and installed gumbo kernal. i installed nandroid backup last night and ever since, i can no trecieve or send and email. it says theres an authentication error. i called our customer support and all my info to set it up is correct. the acct is for yum brands in case anyone has anymore info.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently gone up from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0d. Everything is working great, but for some reason Exchange items are not showing up in the calendar. The exchange calendar is selected in the calendar selection option. Items added to the phone calendar as exchange items are synced to my Outlook/Exchange calendar, so there is some communication going on. However, my calendar stubbornly refuses to display the Exchange items.
Anyone know why this might be? I can't figure it out...
When I set my HTC Hero to sync with exchange "As Items Arrive", the phone is constantly synching and therefore my battery drains. Even when I turn off the phone, the phone uis still awake since it is constantly checking/sync-ing with exchange. I was under the impression that by selecting this type of sync, the items would be "pushed" to the device rather than the device constantly checking if there are new messages, contacts, or calendar eventsto sync. Is this expceted behaviour, or is there some other tweak I need to do? By the way, I just updatedmy phone yesterdey to the latest firmware, and the issue still persist.

So far I have tried Fresh 2.3.3, Darchdroid 2.7 and PureHero 2.3.I rooted for several issues, most of which have been solved, but my number one issue seems to still be haunting me. Good corporate exchange support! Sense based ROM's (Fresh 2.3.3 and stock) support Exchanges security policy and force you to enter a PIN, but bring up the keyboard. My company requires number in the PIN and therefore I have to switch to numbers and enter my pin on a keyboard. I can no longer chew gum and use my phone at the same time. Nonsense based ROM's (Darch and Pure) don't require the PIN and allow me to use a pattern security on my phone, but they don't let me overlay my exchange calendar onto my phone with my google calendar. They only sync mail and contacts. Hope this is where I am missing something. This is a deal breaker for me since I have google calendars for everyone in my family and exchange for work. Got to see them all in one place to be where I need to be.I have tried Lockpicker on the sense ROM's, but then I have no phone security. I have too much info on my phone to go with no security, but I don't want to quit chewing gum.Any suggestions? Is there ways to pick and choose some of the features in sense?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis has been one of only a couple of bugbears I'm experiencing with my Hero. While Exchange syncs perfectly for mail, contacts and calendars, it fails to display Outlook folders in the proper way. Does anyone else experience this?
I have something like 20 folders, most of which have subfolders, and then some of those have more subfolders. In Outlook, it's perfect (naturally). On the Hero, it seems to display them almost randomly - certainly not in the hierarchy they should be, or even alphabetically. With 100+ folders (some with the same name), this is a pain when on the move and relying on the phone to give me access to stuff.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
I've tried the 5 day trial of one of the Exchange apps (can't remember the name) but found it clunky and removed double-quick. Don't like RoadSync either. Plus, I don't see why I should pay for an app when the default one should do the job properly.
Also, on the subject of Exchange, is there any way to get tasks to sync? I'm having to use Gmail to "copy" tasks from Outlook (PITA), and don't really want to add a third party app to manage just those.
I guess it's a case of waiting a few months for some kind of update ... or is that me being a little too optimistic?
Like many other people, I have the issue where I cannot connect to my exchange e-mail because of security settings. I was able to resolve the issue the first time by using Lockpicker. I had to reset my phone, root, and install fresh rom again. Now I am trying to use lockpicker again, but it doesn't work anymore. I have tried everything I can think of and have searched extensively. Touchdown can connect, but there is no way I am paying for that when I was able to get the stock email app working the first time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having the following issue with Exchange. When I setup the phone initially, I was able to synch my email, contacts, and calendar just fine. However, I started noticing that my emails had a delayed vs my computer. My Hero was syncing only every 5 minutes or so (I do have selected the option to get emails as they arrive). Eventually, I went to settings, data synchronization, exchange activesync, and there is an error message that says 'Error occurred on the computer running the exchange server'.
It also seems that it hasn't synced the contacts and calendar in a while, apparently it stops after failing to sync email. The funny thing is that I am actually do getting new emails just not as they arrive, but as I said before, every 5 mins or so. Another thing is that If I click on Synch now. I do not get that error message and it syncs mail, contacts and calendar just fine, but again when it tries to do it on its own, the error message comes up again.
I know there's an EAS thread but I couldn't find a solid answer to this question - Does the Exchange ActiveSync implementation on the HTC Hero from Sprint support advanced security features of Exchange server mainly enforcing Pin Locking and enabling Remote Device Wipe via Exchange? I know iPhone does and the Palm Pre does after WebOS v1.1. I'm very interested in the HTC Hero but need to be able to connect to my corporate exchange server. It's a large company so I cannot have my device added to an exception list or anything.

I get m gmail fine, but another account I had set up on the regular mail function quit receiving email several days ago. I uninstalled the account, reinstalled it and got all the messages I missed. then yesterday, nothing. I'm hoping I just dorked up a setting, but I wanted to make sure it is just me and not a Sprint issue.

I can both send and receive emails, but I'm having some issues getting notified and receiving messages consistently. I have my update settings set to every 30 minutes, but often I will check the client only to see that it hasn't been updated for hours. Also, sometimes when I get messages there won't be an email notification or an unread count on the widget.

I deleted the acct to try and do it all over again only now it's not verifying my username/password or it says can not connect to server. Anyone else having this problem and i have hard reset and checked all settings for data sync. I have not seen this problem so i am thinking it a software problem. View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the HTC email service on a rooted Sprint Hero, Fresh 1.1 Gumbo. i have no apps installed that did not come with the ROM, my mobile is toggled on, i don't ever use wi-fi, and my email accounts are both gmail and yahoo (although my default is yahoo)...i think that covers any possible questions. anyhow the problem is sometimes my emails will not refresh at 15 minutes.

I am able to view them with K9 and the regular email app. I am running Fresh 2.0b2 I dont mind using K9 or the regular email app but they arent as cosmetically fine tuned as the gmail app. You would think that an Android powered phone wouldnt have this issue.
