I have searched for days trying to find a way to have the date show up in my notification bar. I know there are tons of apps and widgets for the home screen, but that is not what I am looking for. Is there an app out there that will let me do this?

My wife and I both have HTC Hero's (Sprint) and recently have been having problems sending and receiving pictures in our text (from each other as well as other people) If I send a picture to her, her phone will vibrate and the notification light will blink, but nothing will show up.
Now if I send a second picture the first one will show up on her phone, and if I send a third, the second one shows up and on and on. It happens the same way if she tries to send me a picture. The phones worked fine when we bought them in December. This problem has just started in the last month.
Why doesn't the notification panel pop up or show while in other apps... and this is off topic but why is my keyboard lagging so much as I type this....any way when I get an email or something I have to go to the home screen then the notification panel...hmm I love this phone I just wished It multitasked as well as the pre....

View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed DamageControl v2.08.1 on my cdma Hero the calendar and date are 24 hours off! Time is correct but it's the next day. When I did a back up of this install it even used the wrong date on the backup. I have a bunch of small issues that I think with patience I may be able to work around but this clock/date thing has me puzzled. Also has anyone figured out how to put a custom city in for the weather widget and not one of the ones listed but for example a small town (any town) some where in the USA? I could do this on my 1.5 but this weather widget acts like the clock and you can only use their listed cities.

I think because its a HTC phone it is made with the black bar, but is their anyway to extract the APK from any other android phone if such a file exists and just install it on the Hero, I really prefer the white one.

I just noticed that for some reason, when I try to link some of my Facebook friends with their respective Contact under People, they do not appear in the list. I then go back to the FB app and I do see them in there.

Since the last update, in my people app, which lists all my contacts, anyone with a facebook profile shows up twice. There are two identical entries, one after another, listed throughout all my contacts.
This is a gigantic PITA since it's effectively added another %50 to my contacts, making it more difficult to scroll thorough and choose a contact.
I'm not sure if this question has been addressed or asked yet, and I couldn't find anything using the search feature, so I'll ask anyways.
Sometimes I get email notifications (using HTC Mail) and I open Mail and go to the new message, but all that shows up is a timestamp of "Wed, Dec 31, 1969 7:00 PM" with no subject, body, or even sender. It's like the email didn't download or I can't view it for some other reason.
Its working when u click it but doest show that i downloaded it. no way to unistall.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to backup my contacts so I can update to 2.1. Currently, the contacts on my phone are split between Phone (people who I call) and Google (people who I email). My google contacts are really messy and disorganized because it is every single person I email. Currently, I have my phone only showing the phone contacts I had synced from my computer. But in order to export the contacts now, it seems I have to export them all together. When I sync it back after I update, they will probably not be split between phone and google. Is there any way to show only contacts that have a number assoicated with them so my phonebook isn't that messy?

For some reason, when I get mail it will from time to time show up in the email app. It always shows up in gmail, but every now and then, it will also show up in the mail widget. The question I have is, why will HTML mail only show the attachments/pictures in the mail widget. The same email will not display in gmail. How can I get gmail to show HTML images?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know, there are already threads out there but I think my question is different...I am looking for a simple password manager just to show the usernames and passwords for about 30 frigging passwords for work...I downloaded KeePassDroid, but when you enter your stuff, it hides the passwords when you look them up...unless I am doing something wrong? I had a Blackberry before this (I'm never going back) and the password vault they had on theirs work t.It listed the usernames and passwords out in the open so you can get at them quickly. It was protected by a password to get into it, but then everything was open to plain view. Any suggestions?
View 10 Replies View RelatedOkay, I've spent 2 whole hours making sure that I'm not repeating a thread and I couldn't believe no one has made a thread on their fav widgets yet and how they use them! This is something similar to Khaag27's forum so plz dont hit me with copyright infringements.
To start out, I don't have a screen capture, so I can't just show you the screen shots, which I strongly encourage others to use if they have it..rooted bastards lol..but I'll tell you which widgets I have on which screens. I also know that widgets take up a lot of your battery, but I don't see many people using them on their screens. It's like why not?
On my furthest screen to the left, I just have 3 widgets, which are my personal favorite because they tell me all my interest in life! (well almost) They are Gaming Buzz, US Sports Buzz, and Mobile Buzz by AdMob. Great widgets that I've never seen others use.
Next is just my gaming screen.
Next is the SportsTap widget. Like to stay updated with my Rockets and the Black Mamba
Home screen is the second HTC calendar widget..smaller version..i have the smaller version of HTC's weather app, which I update manually..I have the Ringer toggle widget..which is great for quickly configuring your vib..silent settings..and I have the Bible Daily verse..which is great for starting my day off
Next is Tune Wiki, which I rarely hear about lately, and Pandora. I also have iSearch..which I never see either..I'm starting to think if I'm really the only one using these!!
Next is the toggle settings for wifi..gps..etc..then the contacts widget..the smaller version..
I recently removed the mail widget as I saw that this was hogging up a lot of battery and I don't like nosey people really lol..
sorry for the long post but as said, I don't have screen capture In other words, what are you fav widgets?!! which probably should been the title lol..
Plz share as I'm always looking for uses for my screens since I'm not a rooted user and patiently waiting for 2.1!!
Is there not a way to show the time of the missed calls? Or am I totally blanking and not seeing it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright well I got my Hero on release date(After going through 3 Pre's! ). Well so far I love it. Battery life has been just fine(And thats with the system at 100% lol), and the apps are amazing. But I have a question. I noticed there's two LED lights at the top of the phone. Yet I've only ever seen one light up! Is this how it is for everyone else? Only my left one lights up(green for texts, and amber for charging). And my friend's G1's Scroll Wheel also lights up, and was just wondering why ours doesn't.

I don't have Android creature, because I am out of the Google test area. My app shows Time Duration using the DatePicker Dialog twice

Please email me and I'll attach the tDurator.apk for you. I need feedback about the working state of the app when rotating the Nexus 1 device, but anyone having at least Android system 1.5 (level 3 on the SDK) can run the app. The app is signed for release and in not harm to the phone.
Does anyone else have this issue when setting dates in the calendar or with contacts?
When I set a date, Sense UI brings up a date scroller wheel, where I use a virtual wheel to select Month, Day, and Year. After setting the desired date, I hit OK, and I'm brought back to the previous screen (calendar or contact I'm setting a date for). The field then shows the date I set as being 1 day prior to the date I picked. However, when I save and come back, the date is fine.
Wish I could take a screen shot to make this easier to explain. Not a massive issue, but it gets confusing sometimes since I think I selected the wrong day.
Has anyone else had issues with input boxes not displaying what is typed? I have tried the stock keyboard, better keyboard, and am now using swype. They all do it and its random. I regularly use Google Talk and will be chatting for a little bit, hit the end button to lock the screen, come back 2 minutes later and it won't take anything I type. It usually comes back 5-10 minutes later or if I reboot.
This has been going on since 1.5 and continued in stock 2.1 and is still there rooted using Fresh 2.1.
Is there a way to get the internal memory widget to show available room on my sd partition?
I thought I saw in the screenshot thread that someone had, but I cannot figure out how.
