ok, so last week, when i added a contact on my HERO it auto synced with my Google account and added that person to my list when I looked on my PC. Now it is adding them to the phone only and I can not find where the setting is to add them to my Gmail account,... any ideas anyone ?

I keep trying these different roms but always have to nandroid restore just to get my contacts back or else they are gone...google wont sync all of them and I tried the export contact app but it didnt save but half of them So what can I do to save my contacts without the nandroid?

I've only been an Android/HTC Hero user for about a week now, and have a weird thing happening with my Hero. I've probably done something to cause this, but, I can't figure it out.
I have several contacts in my People list, and most of them have multiple phone numbers listed with them. When I choose People, and then say my sister, who has two mobile numbers, a work number and a home number, I get a small detailed card that pretty much fills the screen and allows me to choose a number to call mobile, call home, call work, then it says send message to each number, send email.
But, say when I choose my wife, I can only Call Other, Edit Contact, Delete Contact and Send Contact as vCard.
It didn't used to do this. It used to give me these choices for my wife too. My wife has a home number, a cell number, a truck number, I need to be able to text her cell, etc. Basically, I need the same options for her as I have for my sister.
I have the same issue with many of my contacts. I don't know what happened to cause this. Any help fixing this would be much appreciated. Hopefully, I won't have to do a master reset to do so!
when i create or save a new contact it gives me the option to save to sim or phone. if i save to the phone how do i then add the contact to my sim as a backup and vice versa?

Anyone know where the Hero is saving "draft" SMS? I had started writing a text message when an SMS came in ... I hit the back button and got an onscreen message that my SMS was "saved as a draft." Am using the HTC-supplied SMS app.

I get the following error when trying to take pictures on my HTC Hero (Sprint) "Unable to save file to SD card due to insufficient file permissions" I have removed and replaced the card. It will work for about 15 minutes then the same error. I also backed up everything and formatted the card. It worked again for about 15 minutes then the same error.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my previous phone I could set different ringtones for those in my contacts list and then another ringtone for those numbers not in my contacts list so I could tell by the ringtone if someone was calling that was in my contacts list or not.On the Hero there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.I was also able to set different volume levels for various notifications (ie, louder for phone calls and quieter for email and sms notifications).Does anyone know if this is possible on the hero?

When I use LauncherPro my home screen (and other screens) are not set up the way I currently have them. I spent a lot of time setting my current screens so they are exactly the way I want them. Any way to save that config when switching to LauncherPro? It does seem faster so I want to give it a shot, but I'm dreadig setting everything up again- widgets, apps, etc.
