Has anyone else noticed that the voicemails on this phone sound TERRIBLE?I just got the phone last night...it pulled in some already existing voicemails and I've gotten two or three new ones since, and they all sound worse than anything I've ever heard on a cell phone. Do I just have a lemon or does anyone else have this issue?

I've had the same ringtones on my past 3 phones, on my first 2(both samsungs) they sounded terrific, CD quality even. But on my Hero they sound like garbage! Is this because of the speaker? Or is there a better way to do it?

When I called my voicemail I had almost 50 messages. Can anybody help me and tell me how I can start receiving voicemail notifications and visual voicemail again without having to call my number?

Im using Brainfuct #12 which i read should get rid of this but its getting to the point sometimes that the screen times out before it even recognizes im touching the screen to unlock it. any input would be great. on the 10/9 nightly
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhere I work is on Sprint and has bought Hero's for the office people. Most seem to like them. I like mine too(my own). However, my Hero has horrible reception. There are a few places around where I work that are dead zones. I drop calls there EVERY time. They NEVER drop there. We even went through there on the way to lunch the other day and all of us made a call to see how reception was on each. My Hero dropped the call and the rest did not. I have updated everything and still nothing. Sprint seems to be unconcerned. How can I get them to swap phones or something. I actually purchased from Best Buy. I was on 1.5 and have switched to 2.1 and it is the same on both.

Right now my phone makes the same sound whether I get a email or a text message. Can I make one have a different sound than the other? If so please tell me in detail how. I only see one notification sound area.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use Slacker and Pandora every day in my car on the ride to and from work, via bluetooth.Every Froyo rom I've tried (CM 6 alpha, the straight FRF57, FRF84, etc) sounds terrible.Its like the highs and lows are WAY overboosted and distorted.Because this has been common to every rom I've tried to date, and it is always fixed by reverting to my rooted 2.1, I usually do that.But I'm tired of missing out on flash and chrome-to-phone. Is there a sound fix?

View 1 Replies View Relatedthis is mu 2nd hero phone and both will now not allow sound to come through headphone. At 1st the sound comes through great then np sound at all through headphones.
Today at lunch, I am walking outside aneto into 7-11 andfeel my phon3 vibrare and then no sound throuth the headphones. It's like the headphones are muted. When headphones are plugged in there is no symbol showing heaephones are plugged in.
Is there a way to set say a ring tone or song clip as the sound that goes off for your alarm or is it just the basic 5 or 6 options that you can only choose from?

I can play it on the phone just fine but even when i open the file from the phone via comp i have no sound, video plays just fine .. Can anyone help please

HTC Hero - no sound or vibrate for text notifications I have had my Hero for about a week (first Droid!). I am no longer getting sound or vibrate text notifications. I get sound for email notifications, but no vibrate. The LED indicator is working fine. I don't really care about the email notifications, but I need the sound and vibrate for texts! I have checked the forums and found several threads where downloading Sound Manager resolved the issue. It didn't work for me. I have also checked Settings> Sound & Display > Notification Sound. There is a tone selected. I tried a battery pull as well.

I've tried searching for this issue but have come up with nothing, so if it's been posted, please point me in the right direction.I've had my Hero since January (Sprint) and this only came up in the last couple of days. About a week ago (05/28/10) my Hero froze and Sprint issued me a new phone which they updated to 2.1. On Thursday (06/03/10) I noticed the sound when I use my touch screen is much louder than it used to be. I'm almost positive the new phone wasn't quite this loud when I first got it. The sound I'm talking about is not the 'tone' sound as I've disabled that, but the 'ticking' sound when you launch an app or shortcut. Does this make sense? Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Is there a way to make this sound quieter? I'd rather not disable it completely as I like a little bit of feedback that a button has been hit.

View 8 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
Does 2.1 get rid of the default notification? Can you choose a different/custom notification sound for the stock email app that isn't the default notification sound?

Also, every time I receive and incoming text my phone also vibrates. I've looked under notifications and can't find any way to change this. I'm about to pay the restocking fee and get a new phone.
