I'm a Hero owner, and a couple of days ago I noticed I haven't received any voicemail notifications for about 2 or 3 weeks now. When I called my voicemail I had almost 50 messages. Can anybody help me and tell me how I can start receiving voicemail notifications and visual voicemail again without having to call my number?

I rooted my phone and put fresh 1.1 on it a couple days ago, it received calls after rooting, but recently it stopped receiving calls, and it never received texts or visual voice mails. Gmail still pushes new email to it, and the internet works fine to update things and look at websites.
I tried to restore with nandroid and it took fresh off of it but it still doesn't do text, don't know about calls but i doubt it. also when i rooted it i removed sprint tv, nascar, foot prints and a couple other stock apps. after i found it wasn't getting texts i removed advanced task killer, but it didn't have any effect.
I hearing them tell me that they called and left me a voicemail, I decided to call 1 on my phone and lo and behold, I had more than 40 missed voice messages. NONE of which I was notified or had in my visual voicemail. When all is said and done, I haven't received a visual voicemail or a notification of a voicemail since June 30! What is wrong with my phone and how can I fix it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that the voicemails on this phone sound TERRIBLE?I just got the phone last night...it pulled in some already existing voicemails and I've gotten two or three new ones since, and they all sound worse than anything I've ever heard on a cell phone. Do I just have a lemon or does anyone else have this issue?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just received a mandatory update for my Visual Voicemail app. It downloaded and installed without a problem. I think I had read about this update somewhere a few days ago. It kept on shilling an add-on service from Sprint for voicemail to text transcription service. I do not mind being asked once about a service because I can just decline. However, this advertisement insists on on rearing its ugly head every time you restart your handset and go to use the Visual Voicemail app again.

Am I missing something or can I only use the google visual voice mail with my google #? I cannot seem to figure out how to pick up my voice mail when people call my cell phone.

What I want to know is, what do people think about the Sprint visual voicemail that comes on the Hero as it compares to google's VM. Besides transcription, are there any benefits? Are there any downsides?

I've flashed gapps, and vvm and gapps is working great, vvm not so much.. am I doing something wrong? I've gotten 4 texts to tell me I have voicemail but I'm not able to get them w/vvm. I love this theme and I don't want to have to change it due to vvm problems!
I just want to know if I am having a problem or if their Hero does not support this feature? My BT works fine for everything else I have tried but will not let me listen to VVM playback.

I have noticed that when I listen to voice mails through visual voicemail they sound scratchy, quite, computerized or fuzzy, but when I go to the phone and dial my voicemail the sound quality is great, loud and clear!
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a voice mail, it shows up in the visual voice mail application like it always does. Everything is normal EXCEPT ... When I play the voice mail I hear nothing. The time bar moves as it is playing, but nothing can be heard. This has been happening for the past 3 days. I then have to access my VMs through the traditional "Dial #1" portal. I love visual VM though, and would like to fix this. Does anyone know what the problem might be and/or have had this problem before?
Note: I am not using a task killer, and I don't even have one downloaded on my UNROOTED Hero.
For the last 2 weeks I have randomly not been receiving text messages. Also just today I had a friend send a picture with text and I saw the pop up, went to Chomp SMS and clicked on the play button to play the slide show. Once I tapped the message, it disappeared. I can no longer find the picture or the message that went along with it. It is very frustrating because I know people are trying to send me photos and messages and I am not even getting them or they are disappearing before I can get/read them. I even checked the original Messages app and the missing texts/photos do not show up there. Is this a Sprint issue or a Hero issue? And is there a fix?

It will show 0 I will refresh and still none, however I will check it on the computer and there are several. I have it polling every hour?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi know there have been some issues about this already, but none of them have been able to help me. i'm currently flashed with Fresh 1.0 and Gumbo Kernel, but i am definately not receiving all of my text messages. i've tried handcent, didn't work. i've tried chomp, didn't work. i've tried the stock app, didn't work. i've also tried updating my profile and prl, didn't work. If there isn't a solution, i might just go ahead and join the bandwagon and flash the Leaked 2.1. But i love fresh 1.0. btw, can anyone direct me to where i can download the 2.1?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor a while now, I don't know exactly how long, my phone stopped receiving pictures in text messages.I get a notification that a new text msg is in, but when I click on it, it just says "downloading".Once in a blue moon the pic will appear after about 20 minutes, but most of the time it never comes up.I am using Handcent, but I get the same result with the stock messaging program.The one thread I saw said that a hard reset had to be done.I really don't want to have to do that.

View 5 Replies View RelatedHTC Hero by Sprint, running 2.1.6...I notice that I get my gmail updates almost instantaniously during the day, but at night I will get one and if I don't touch the phone, I won't get another until I start using the phone again.Is this some sort of "sleep" feature where you will not recieve gmail notifications while you are not using the phone (over night), or is it just my imagination?? I have noticed this numerous times over the past couple months, although I have not really been putting this theory to a controled test.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero for three weeks or so. After updating the visual voicemail after the initial purchase. Everything was fine until I received a text a week ago informing me that X sent me a voice SMS message and I had to call 408.970.0000 to listen. There was no notification on the visual voicemail native app that anyone had called me. Upon calling this number, I had four voicemails from the preceding few days that I never got. As of today, 11/15, according to the native voicemail app, I haven't received a VM since 11/4. In actuality, I've received many.
After calling sprint and explaining this to them and having "tech" support tell me to "disable WiFi to get my voicemails (!?)", I went to the sprint store. Several call to their support and their own tinkering resolved nothing but an overnight ship of a new Hero due tomorrow. Now, I do have handcent installed after having awake/up time issues (see other posts) with the native message app. Could this be somehow related?
I'm not getting texts, I'm in "hybrid mode" and have sent the "allow all" text to 9999.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't really understand how spam texts work (although I am thinking about getting into it since I know how much everyone loves them). For the many months I have had my Hero, I don't think I ever received one. However, in the past week I have been getting at least one every day, sometimes at 4 AM. I have to leave my notifications on because that is how the answering service contacts me.
Now, all of this has started since I loaded Fresh 2.0d. I doubt there is any connection between those two events, but could there be? Is there something about the new ROM that would make it more susceptible to spam? Second, I know that with email spam I just delete them, I certainly don't want to respond to them by checking the "take me off your mailing list." If I blacklist a spam number in Handcent, that doesn't send anything back to the sender indicating it is an active number, does it? It doesn't hurt to blacklist, does it?
My sprint HTC hero for some reason will all the sudden stop allowing me to get text messages and mine that I send don't seem to reach the phone I am sending it to. It will stop working out of the blue and start back up. The only reason I know that it stops is because the person I am texting shows me that they never received a message from me and I never got one from them. My phone does not tell me I cant receive or send it just stops and I never know. When it starts working again it does not ever send the messages I didn't receive.
