After I did the update my phone doesnt ring it goes straight to voice mail very annoying. I checked my settings and didn't see anything wrong.also when I call someone sometimes it doesnt ring and all I get is their voice mail anybody got anything?

I've had my Hero for about 4 months now, and other than the battery issue (I do use it a lot) I'm pretty satisfied. However since Thursday last week, I've had the SAME phone number call me, have someone jabber at me, and then hang up! I looked up the area code, and it's in Jamaica! Today has been the worst, I've had 5 calls from that same number. Frankly its really started to get annoying. I called Sprint, and asked customer care if they can block that number from the account. And they can't do that. Apparently blocking that number is an infringement on their rights. On my Hero, I've been able to find that I can just push all those calls from that number to my voice mail, but I can't block it from my line altogether. Anyone else having the same or similar issue that has come up with another option?
View 13 Replies View RelatedOne day about 3 weeks ago I missed a few calls from a friend because the phone did not ring.I had a special ringtone assigned to the person, so I checked to see if there was something wrong with the person's Contacts entry that would make the phone not ring.When I looked, the box was checked where it says "Send calls directly to voicemail".I know that I never checked that box intentionally, so I unchecked it.That was about 3 weeks ago.Yesterday the same person called 3 times and the phone never rang, so I looked at the Contacts entry again and, sure enough, the box was checked again!I carry my phone in a holster on my belt, so it can't be that the box was inadvertently checked by the phone moving around in my pocket.Has anyone else had this experience?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

It then started with the process and the screen said it was downloading.........2 days later, every time I go into voicemail ..it says it's downloading. I tried to cancel...1 day later it is still cancelling. How can I get out of this screen?

I keep reading that each app has a setting that allows one to select a unique sound, but I am not able to find this setting for the stock email app, or the voicemail app. The only options under email settings are:
Email notifications - ON or OFF
Notification sound - ON or OFF
Notification vibrate - ON or OFF
Under Voicemail settings, I see NO choices for notifications.
How I can have different notifications for voice mail, text messages, FB, etc.
View 4 Replies View Relatedshould the voice mail icon have a number on it like the email or text icons if you get a new voicemail? If I get a notification, it only shows up on the task bar. I was also experiencing not recieving texts. I have since done a reset which fixed the text issue (and sleep-for now), but not the voicemail. Should I take the phone back? I fear its anotjer software bug, not hardware. I love this phone, but I'm getting very annoyed that it can't even do what its suppose to.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI finally changed the voicemail system on my Hero from Sprint's "visual voicemail" (which is misleading because it doesn't transcribe voicemails) to Google Voice. It's nice to see my transcribed voicemails now. However, when I actually want to hear them (if the transcription didn't work well), it only comes through the external speaker; the speaker on the back of the phone. I went into Google Voice settings and under "Voicemail Playback" I tried the only two options: "Play via Handset" and "Play via Speaker." Unfortunately, both play through the speaker phone speaker. How do I change it to the phone speaker? I also can't adjust the volume, so the whole world hears my voicemails through the external speaker.

There is no prompt to activate the default system greeting that reads your phone number back to the caller. For example "You have reached the voicemail box of 123-123-1234" Now I am required to record my own name or greeting. I just got off of the phone with Sprint and they told me due to "Visual Voicemail" that I have been switched to a new voicemail system. Can you confirm that you no longer have a prompt for the System Greeting?
View 7 Replies View Relatedalright, my dad's phone (post update) is at 100% awake time. it wasn't pre-update. my phone is also sitting at a higher awake time post update. i first thought the culprit was the mail app running more often. i have to force close it more frequently now. well, my dad complained about his battery again and i checked the awake time. 100%. he also asked me which programs were essential and i told him to kill the mail app. he said he keeps it open all the time cause he uses it all the time. sooo, now it is looking more to me like it is the mail app keeping the phone from sleeping.

Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........

I loved the feature in Sprint's V-mail, that allowed me to connect directly to another Sprint users V-mail. It was a great time saver, allowed me to just leave the message & get on w/ my day (ok I admit it, it was mainly used to avoid talking to my mother when I knew she was in a bad mood)Since I got the Moment, even when I call my v-mail directly, said option is no longer there. Borrowed my g'friends phone for a minute, and the options is still there for her. I checked Sprint's forums, and couldn't find anything about them changing the v-mail with the Moment.

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. A couple of nights ago I was prompted to enter (record) my own "greeting" and now I cant find the option to revert back to the default one. I tried all the options after calling my own voice mail but cant seem to find the default greeting option. Also, I stopped receiving voice mail notification (the numerical number of voice mails I have next to the voicemail icon) after the software update. how do i get that to work again?
