How To Check If Current Time Falls Between Time Period

I'm not very experienced in Android, however, I am trying to develop an application. Within the application I want to check if the current time falls between time ranges
pseudo code

What I use this for is I may be listening to a Netflix or HBO GO movie (yes I know, "listening") and I want the phone to shutoff after 30 minutes.
I was having a hard time finding any app that does this. Google searches just showed me results of shutdown problems, and the apps I came across were to reboot the phone.

Feb 1, 2010If I do the incorrect pattern enough times, will it lock me out of my Droid for an extended time period? How long? How many tries do I get? The reason I ask is because, the Droid (ANNOYINGLY) suffers from a slight lag when brought out of sleep mode. Basically EVERY TIME I try to wake it and quickly enter my pattern, I will be halfway through it and it will hit a lag spike I guess and stops reading that I am touching it, and the first half of the pattern I was entering will be counted as an incorrect pattern, and as I continue to finish the pattern, the second half will be counted as an incorrect pattern. Basically, I use up 2 tries, and I would hate for this to happen, and then I go to enter the actual pattern and I just make a mistake, and use my last try up. So do you get only 3 tries?

By calling show() method more than once, I hoped this would give a similar effect to lasting for longer time with some flickering, but I didn't see any difference. Is there some limit to the number of times that show() method can be called on the same Toast? e.g. just once per toast instance and further calling has no effect?

I know there are other financial programs out there that will allow you to keep a checkbook on your phone, but I don't want the checkbook solely on the phone, I want it on the desktop too and microsoft money is already there and works great. Some of these other apps out there will sync with ms money if you download the file in this format to your sd card, hold your tongue to the top of your mouth, move the file to the computer via USB, move your tongue 90 degrees to the north, change the file format and then import it from within money. well, you get the idea. I don't want to have to do all that.

My first one VZW just kept making excuses and wanting to do factory resets and delete apps because in their words that was the problem. The tech guy on the phone told me that they could only replace it with another eris again so here I sit with another POS that continues to lock up. I have been unable to make calls 80% of the time. What a joke On average I have to remove my battery 3-4 times a day to get it to work.
