Apr 4, 2010I am at work and i cant figure out how to turn off the ringer sound while keeping the sms sound everytime i turn the ringer off it for a to silent mode.

Jan 17, 2010My Gmail account works great, and I have my aol and yahoo acounts set up no problem (well the yahoo was a little problem but got it to work so thats all that matters). I have 2 other email accounts that no matter what I do I can not get them to work. One is my works email which is handled by a company called network solutions. I can get the incoming server setup fine but I can not get the outgoing to work. The other is my school email which is some sort of msn email account variation (username@email.itt-tech.edu which i log into through msn.com). I cant get anything to work for this accuont.

Jan 10, 2010Long time blackberry user and I just traded in my tour yesterday for the Droid Eris. Let me just get this out of the way first and say WOW what an awesome phone this thing rocks the casba better than any blackberry I've ever owned.Ok now that I've got that out of the way here is my deli-ma and if this has been posted and answered before please forgive me as I did conduct a search prior to this I just couldn't find a thread that related to my scenario.Ok so I work for a huge IT company and when I was on the BB I had a rule setup with my BB desktop manager that any emails that came through with the word PAGEME in the body to forward that email to my phone as a level 1 message and cause my phone to explode in the process. (btw the PAGEME was added by our BES so that will no longer be an option for a filter) so what I was wondering is this, is there a way with this phone that I can setup a similar rule whether it is something that I have to configure on the phone itself or in say Outlook with a exchange rule. Whatever be the case I am open to anything all that matters is that we can make the phone do some god awful sound when a page comes in so that way I can at least assure that my phone will at least wake my wife up so she can kick me and wake me up . The positive thing is that the page will only be sent to me so whatever rule we'll be creating will be specific to me being the only recipient. And yes the page does come through as a email. I can change the pager address to be mynumber@vtext.com thats not a problem but I'd rather leave it going to my regular email that way I get the full page instead of just the first 160 characters.

Sep 11, 2010I've had my Droid since November and I guess I went into autopilot since because I never had a problem doing this. But now that I had to replace my phone, I no longer know how to set any 'ole mp3 file as a notification or ringtone in other programs.
For example, I used to be able to go into the messaging or Google Voice app and from there choose the "select ringtone" and then be given a list of apps I had that let me browse through ALL of my mp3 files. Now when I choose "select ringtone," I'm only able to access the system ringtones and notifications.
So what app do I need to download that'll enable me to browse through all audio files for any app's notifications and ringtones?

Jan 21, 2010So my wife just tells me (5 days after the last day I have to return my phone) that lately the sound quality when I call her is terrible. She has trouble hearing me and mainly hears a bunch of background noise while my voice is kind of faint. My signal strength doesn't seem to make much of a difference. On my end calls sound great. Just trying to see if anyone else has had any complaints. She claims it was better before. Not sure what's going on but I'd hate to think this phone sounds terrible to the people I am calling.

Dec 16, 2009Is it just me or does it seem like your phone misses more than just an occasional notification for things like google voice, gmail or various small items while the phone is asleep? For some reason my phone will be asleep for just a short time, then I click to wake it up and my notification shows up then, but if I hadnt woke the phone up it wouldnt alert me even though its set to check and notify. This happening to anyone else?

Motorola Droid X :: Sound Notifications For Text And Email Stopped
Aug 16, 2010I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.

Mar 30, 2010Quick question about Handcent and the notification sounds. My wife's Droid was doing the whole "droid" sound everytime she received a text up until tonight and it stopped. Same with emails. For the past two weeks it has been fine, but now all of the sudden it stopped. Anyone have any idea? I went through and checked all the settings and they look good, but still nothing. I even uninstalled Handcent and tried reinstalling it and still nothing.

Nov 13, 2009I'm a big music listener. My Droid is basically playing music 24/7. I wonder if anyone else gets ticked off when you are listening to music, and interrupted with a notification. For those who never used an iphone, the music would fade a little, you'd get a short message tone, then volume would adjust back up.
The music player on the Droid just cuts off, beeps, and goes back to music. Another thing that would be awesome is, when the phones locked and playing music, you hold the home key and the music player pops up so you can forward, or whatever without unlocking, going to app, etc.
