Feb 14, 2010It changes to performance. I am not sure if it is changing when I powercycle or if it is just random.

View 3 RepliesI will be rooting tonight then putting fresh 1.1 on and then the gumbo kernel and want to use one of these two to speed up the phone. Which one should I use?
I am okay with paying 99 cents for the app so please do not count that against it. I am looking for overall performance.
I tried both overclock and setcpu for 528 max and 160 (or 245) min. Whenever I put my phone in sleep and turn it back on, it automatically goes to 245 min 245 max which is slooow. Could this be a problem with the rom? because Im using Darchlegend v4 2.1 rom. Im just gonna unistall for now
View 2 Replies View RelatedYou will need to flash an extra file, but you can now run your rooted hero at 528 (or slower if you prefer)

I didn't have anything to do with this, and I didn't find this link, I just posted it from my old thread about the overclock widget (thanks to whoever found this). I figured that people who don't check xda regularly (like myself) might want a heads up, so here you go.
Why won't my wi-fi stay connected after about 5 minutes of the screen being locked? It will come back only after I go into the settings and just look at it, don't have to select anything.

View 24 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open up the task killer, I see that Sprint Navigation is always on there. I have gone through all the settings and could not find anything to why it keeps opening.
My GPS and Wireless Networks setting are both OFF
I'm assuming that this is the reason that my battery is dying so quickly.
So I installed Advanced Task Killer so I can kill apps to get my phone to run faster. (Namely Stock SMS because of the non-sleep problem). But after a while, i open up task killer and low and behold.... the apps are open again. Anyone find a fix to this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using NFX 2.2....I enabled, or thought I enabled, apps2sd, my internal memory is still going down. I understand that email uses memory but, my folders are empty. Also, I do not see any of my apps on my sd card, which leads me to believe they are still in the internal memory. Any help or tips would be appreciated. I also tried to enable JIT via the gscript. Maybe I am doing something wrong with gscript. I found the script and saved it, rebooted phone. Please help....

My main clock won't refresh after the phone turns on or comes back on from airplane mode. The widget clock is working just fine, though. Anyone else seeing this and or know how to fix it?
View 23 Replies View RelatedOk, my phone worked perfectly before I installed 2.1. I did a hard reset before I installed 2.1. It ran fine for about 20 minutes while I played with all the new features (I really like 2.1 when its working) but literally about every 20 minutes when I check my phone, the damn thing is OFF. Its really pissing me off. So I turn it back on, and within 20 minutes its off again. Im about to smash this damn thing. I've reinstalled 2.1 twice, hard reset, soft reset, and every combination of the 3. WTF is the problem!?

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy hero downloads my POP3 e-mails. I'm using the standard mail app. I read them on the phone and delete them. Do those deleted e-mails stay in the phone until I delete them from the trash folder? Pardon me for being lazy, but it is a pain to delete them from the inbox and then go to the trash folder and delete them again! Has anyone found a way to permanently delete e-mails from the inbox?

I have a HTC Hero and I was wondering if there are any on-demand TV &/or Film services to download? Please, I love watching movies and shows on planes or while commuting, even if there was an online APK for the Samsung service.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been stressing out the last few days about it. i have a few choices but i don't know what i should do. a second opinion could help. i just got a evo from sprint last week and to be honest, the phone is absolutely gorgeous. i really love it. the thing is, i'm still in a family plan with my parents on t-mobile which they're paying and my mom weren't happy when she found out i branched off. my contract was already over with t-mobile and i've been doing month to month for a year. so my choice is to keep the evo and pay for sprint or return it since i'm within 30 days and stay with t-mobile. the sad part about t-mobile is that they don't have any good phones beside the nexus one and the upcoming samsung galaxy s which i don't like the look of it at all. i'm thinking of ordering the nexus one through google but i'm not sure if it's worth 529 dollars plus tax. i also heard it has a few problems so that kinda push me away from it. anyway, what do you guys think i should do? both sprint and t-mboile has good coverage here. i just find out t-mobile has hspa+ which is a nice plus(no pun intended.) and sprint is going to have 4g here soon. i don't know about t-Mobile's customer service but sprint is really nice to me. i don't know what to do lol. i have a job so i can afford the evo and sprint but with t-mobile i'll pay less since i got the family plan and i'm contract free. so android forum members. tell me what i should do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to own an HTC Magic, and whenever I used the GPS the "My Location" blue dot would always stay in the middle of the screen, like a real GPS.I now use a Telus HTC Hero, and not only does the screen not follow the blue dot, it turns the screen off after a minute. How do I make it so that it stays on and follows the blue dot?
View 5 Replies View RelatedDo you have to rip DVD's to watch a movie on say, the Droid Eris? Why isn't anyone making the android phones compatible with the Amazon Video On Demand Marketplace where you could rent and purchase movies, then watch just like our own form of iTunes? I'm a newbie, so if this question is out of left field and already easily addressed. Seems kinda crazy they make the phone work with the MP3 section of Amazon and not the video!

Ever since I got unlimited data plan my battery life reduced by 60%. Before I would charge my phone once in 3-4 days, with 3g on all the time I could barely go through one day.
"Data On Demand allows you to save battery by turning off your (2G/3G-) data connection manually or automatically if your device goes to standby-mode (display turns black)."
The best features of this prog is that when u put it on auto mode it will only disable 3G when ur phone goes to standby mode thus saving u a lot of battery.
I am building a android aplication which will be consuming a json file from the internet. This json file contains a list of news from a particular website. Each json object contains information such like title, summary, descripition and web links for the news thumbnail and the original image.
I will be displaying in a listview three information: the news thumbnail, the title and the summary. Here resides my problem. I dont want to load all thumbnails from the internet if they wont be displayed. What I am trying to say is that why download a thumbnail from the 30th news if the user wont scroll down the image. So, i will, initially only download the thumnails from those news that are being displayed in the screen and when the user scrolls down to see more news, as soon as the list item appers to the screen i want to download the image and then display.
Is there a way to achieve this? Is it possible to find out if the list item is on the screen? I have been searching all over the internet for a solution for this but i am running out of ideas.
after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
