Is everyone seeing this issue? When I plug in my Hero to the charger it lights up then goes to low light and begins charging. But it stays lit the whole time, should I be worried about the screen being burned?

I would like the screen to stay on (on whatever brightness it's normally set at) when connected to external power. I've found the Settings/Applications/Development "Stay Awake" checkbox, but the screen still dims down after 30 seconds, though it doesn't go completely off.Is there a way to keep the screen on?All the WinMo phones I had had two separate profiles one for on battery and one for when on a charger, and you could set the screen brightness and timeout independently for each power profile.The reason for this is that I have a dashmount cradle of sorts that I use, and I generally put the phone in it and plug it in when I'm driving any sort of distance. I do things like look at the phone signal, see if new mail comes in, etc. while driving, and it's just reassuring to look down at the phone and see it doing something without having to hit the power button.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am on my second Moment because my first one failed the Sprint signal test But on that phone i had it set up so that when it was plugged in charging, the phones screen always stayed on. But I don't remember how I did that or what setting I went into. I also have Open Home installed and running on the first phone and now my new phone, i've searched through and through all setting for the phone itself and for Open Home and can not find how I changed it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a new Sony Z1 Compact (Great phone by the way!)I wanted to make use of the magnetic charging port so picked up a dock, a couple of cables and a couple of USB -> Magnetic charger adaptors.The cables works absolutely fine and charges away very happily.My dock, and my USB -> Magnetic charger adaptor however both try to put the device into Dock mode.
That in itself works OK, but the problem comes when I want the screen to stay "OFF".The phone will constantly wake itself up - about once every 90 seconds or so.The screen comes on, and then times out and goes black again.It's almost as if someone was pressing the "power" button.
As I was writing this I have been trying using the "Daydream" feature to just show a black image.This also doesn't work... every 90 seconds or so it will return to the home screen before fading back to the daydream screen.
I used to own an HTC Magic, and whenever I used the GPS the "My Location" blue dot would always stay in the middle of the screen, like a real GPS.I now use a Telus HTC Hero, and not only does the screen not follow the blue dot, it turns the screen off after a minute. How do I make it so that it stays on and follows the blue dot?

It never did that before I did the Froyo update. Is this normal?Keep in mind that I have the setting where the screen doesn't go to sleep (black) while I'm charging as I like to glance at the time and such on my phone while it's charging.Even then, those lights never stood on before, just the screen would.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had this phone for a week now and today it developed something new. When I plug in the battery charger, the touch screen becomes almost entirely non-responsive. When I attempt to slide the Lock Screen away it either won't move or I can get it to slightly move but it bounces right back or even sticks halfway. If I unplug the charger and wait about a minute it's back to working fine again. I've removed the battery a few times now to see if this helped but nothing seems to help. It didn't do this till today. Anyone else run into this problem and if so how did you remedy it?

View 24 Replies View RelatedThis is only a problem when I make calls which require entering a number to select an option(i.e., press 1 for...).I know the screen times out(?) when on calls normally and that it will light up again when it senses the call has ended, but if I have to see the keyboard to press a number to make a selection, pressing the power button to bring it up usually takes too long. By the time I get the screen up and press a button, the system on the other end doesn't recognize it. OR, I'll press the power button and it won't come up at all.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSeveral times now my Desire's screen has just stayed black when pressing the power key to unlock it. It's like it's in a deep sleep with no way to wake it. If you call it the screen will not light up but the phone will either ring with no way of answering it or just flash the missed call light. The call can still be silenced or rejected with the buttons.
So my question is this a hardware or software issue? I'm inclined to think software because pulling the battery then rebooting solves it, until it happens again, sometimes the same day others a few days later. I always switch the phone off at night to give it a fresh start each day. I do not use any task killers or obscure apps. Phone has minimal virgin mobile UK branding on it, and running firmware 1.15.405.4 with no option to update to the newly released version.
I click on the HTC clock, then the little moon button to put it into bedside mode. From what I recall the clock used to move around the screen to different places but would always remain on.Now after about 15 seconds the screen shuts off and I have to unlock it again. Whereas before the screen would always be on and wherever I would touch it would wake up without having to unlock it again. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with my camera today, and finally figure out how to take decent pix, but after scrolling through my album, I tried to go to the camera again, but now everytime I try the screen is black. And it stays black even after I remove my battery. A few times, I couldn't even get to home--the screen just stayed black.
Now it's still black when I go to the camera, but at least I can access home without having to remove my battery. I called Bestbuy and they said I can exchange, but I'm afraid I might get one with a messed up GPS. :-( Will Bestbuy fix it or make me exchange? Will Sprint fix it even though I'm still in my 30-day trial?
1) How can I make my phone not turning on the screen when it is locked and i get an sms (via the built it messages app), but light the led light with a custom color (and of course, play a tone). I've tried "LightFlow" but it didn't work, the screen has still gone on when I got an sms.Mention that with 3rd party apps (e.g. whatsapp and wunderlist) the thing works great, the screen is black, the led is on, and the air molecules near the speaker start oscillating harmonically.
2) I know that even without any sdk manipulation, my phone still lets me move some downloaded apps to the sd. I had downloaded a 1.5 GB game and kept in mind that I use 3.5 GB of my internal storage. Luckily enough, this game is movable. I moved it to the sd card, and after the process had been done, I checked how much storage I use on my internal storage - 3.5 GB.The button changed to "Move to device storage" but it seemed that the game had not transfered at all.Mention that I tried the "adb shell pm setinstalllocation 2" thing, and it didn't fix it, so I reversed the process with the "adb shell pm setinstalllocation 0" command.
Every time I open up the task killer, I see that Sprint Navigation is always on there. I have gone through all the settings and could not find anything to why it keeps opening.
My GPS and Wireless Networks setting are both OFF
I'm assuming that this is the reason that my battery is dying so quickly.
Have it plugged in and set for stay on while charging and set to full brightness, but it keeps dimming after a few seconds. Doesn't go off, but dims significantly until touched. I want it to do what I say, stay on whatever brightness setting I have while charging, period.
