View 8 RepliesI recently performed the following, with the idea of upgrading from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0:
Downloaded the latest Fresh Kitchen
Downloaded the lastest Sprint RUU
Downloaded the latest Fresh 2.0 ROM
Installed the Sprint RUU as per instructions
My problem is now that when I try to root again so I can install Fresh2.0, the Kitchen, (and the pre-Kitchen), will not recognize the sdcard.
I'm new to rooting and i just downloaded the fresh 2.4 rom for my cdma hero. do i put whole zip file on card or just the image. and where on the sd card should it go. i have already rooted.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is for Rooted users with fresh rom using Pre-kitchen.Can someone tell me how to use kitchen?I have fresh 1.1, I downlaoded pre-kitchen to my PC and unzipped to it's own folder.I open the exe and the kitchen pops up. If I try to click "help" and send test message it says it's not connected. have I missed something?
View 8 Replies View RelatedIn a word, this combo is *awesome*. Very easy to install once I figured out the .NET issue with my windows pc (just needed to update the .NET stuff, @ windowsupdate.com, pretty easy), and very easy to use, though it sure would be nice if the "Kitchen Tutorial" section of geekforme.com was completed. I'm a clicker and tweaker by nature and I knew I couldn't screw up too badly (just flash it back to stock and start over if things turn sour) so away I went. There really is no need to fear with this (pre) Kitchen set up.The auto-root was FAST and very easy. Pulling unwanted applications and pushing files to the device, also simple. Even swapping the theme and lock screen was pretty easy. A good, solid tutorial on the site (which I understand is in progress) would have helped, but there are good people in this and other forums who are happy to help if one gets stuck.
I had rooted my phone previously and removed many stock applications, so I did not notice as large of a performance jump that most do coming from a stock device, but it seems a bit snappier, post Fresh.I have noticed that my battery seems to be draining quicker post Fresh. I charged fully before bed, placed the phone in Airplane Mode and set it on the table. When I woke up this morning, the device had dropped to 50% in 6-7 hours of no use. I don't recall seeing any threads talking about speedy drain post root/fresh, so I'm looking into it. There are no apps installed that I didn't have on the phone before I noticed faster battery drain, save for those installed with Fresh.I'd say it was due to me playing with it more, but I was sleeping... Unless I'm fiddling with it in my sleep... The phone shows an up time of 8hr 27min with an awake percentage of 81%. It seems I've missed something that's keeping the phone awake. Suggestions?
I recently rooted and flashed my phone with fresh everything works great, except that I was able to change my theme only once. I am currently using the brocks theme, I tried to use kitchen to change it to defresh lastnight, and it said the process completed, but the theme is still brocks. Is there something im not doing?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a tutorial on how to root using fresh-pre-kitchen? Also I want to know how to load the Fresh rom on.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on the nandroid backup my the process starts, then i think the phone goes to reboot during the process (I assume this is part of the process?) then I get a error icon on my phone a Triangle with a exclamation point in the middle, then I'm stuck, the phone wont reconnect to Fresh Kitchen. should I use recovery to fore reboot? help? One thought, do i have to use the USB to micro USB that comes with the phone or can I just use a standard micro USB to USB that I always use (the one that came with my digital camera)

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe Beta version of the MoDaCo Custom Custom ROM 2.0 for CDMA Hero online kitchen is now available!
The online kitchen is currently only available to my MoDaCo premium members (those who have signed up to MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus) as it is not yet running on an infrastructure that can support a huge number of users. This will be the case for the foreseeable future as the kitchen system is developed.
With that said, for those who can test the kitchen, enjoy! I've had this vision for a long time, so it's exciting to see the pieces falling together - both here and in the Android 'scene' - to make it happen!
This technology will be coming to other ROMs and will also be available for other ROM creators to use via our Chef's Team.
I have already remove some Sprint applications using Fresh Kitchen. However in my settings/applications/manage applications page, I still see a few apps that I cannot remove like SprintTV Widget and Flickr.I also loaded Root Explorer and wanted to try and remove some app/files that are cluttering my Hero. Any suggestions what I can remove, some stuff in the manage application page?also looking for the folder that has the stock Sprint ringtones, I don't use them and want to remove also.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI passed all the root tests in Fresh Kitchen and am ready to root. It is not clear to me if I need to wipe (I have stock ROM, don't think I need to wipe from what I read but want to be sure).Don't know if I need to have SD card mounted before starting rooting process. This is unclear in everything I read.Don't know when and how the backup process is done, after the Root or before? The backup process is unclear also.Don't know what RA is? I see it referred to but can't figure it out.I watched the videos on Fresh Kitchen 1.0.5.3 and am still unclear on the questions above. Are there written instruction on how to use Fresh Kitchen 1.0.5.3 to Root?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have been looking all over the forums for a list of premade themes compatible with fresh 1.1 that i can load through the pre-kitchen? all i can find is backgrounds and also i am lookin for custom lock screens but i cant find those either( would this be something i would make myself using metamorph?)
View 6 Replies View RelatedI will be rooting tonight then putting fresh 1.1 on and then the gumbo kernel and want to use one of these two to speed up the phone. Which one should I use?
I am okay with paying 99 cents for the app so please do not count that against it. I am looking for overall performance.
I tried both overclock and setcpu for 528 max and 160 (or 245) min. Whenever I put my phone in sleep and turn it back on, it automatically goes to 245 min 245 max which is slooow. Could this be a problem with the rom? because Im using Darchlegend v4 2.1 rom. Im just gonna unistall for now
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a app out there will back up all my phone contacts to the sd card?
View 5 Replies View RelatedYou will need to flash an extra file, but you can now run your rooted hero at 528 (or slower if you prefer)

[CDMA KERNEL ROM]Gumbo Kernel beta project + RAM hack - xda-developers
I didn't have anything to do with this, and I didn't find this link, I just posted it from my old thread about the overclock widget (thanks to whoever found this). I figured that people who don't check xda regularly (like myself) might want a heads up, so here you go.
Thanks you were so much help but i have some only a few more questions what is a flash rom? and will the rom do anything for my phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat's the best rom to flash on the hero, that doesn't have 15 second lag when trying to make a phone call.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo how exactly do I flash a ROM onto my phone? I rooted my phone using this guide: [GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero - xda-developers. It's a Sprint CDMA HTC Hero (duh. ) and running the 2.1 release. I'm very sure I've rooted it correctly; I've successfully tethered my phone for my laptop and iTouch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter using Fresh's 2.0d for the last month, I decided to try DC 2.08. I did a Titanium Backup, copied 2.08 to the SD, wiped the phone and the dalvik and installed from the SD card. After the installation, the phone boots up but is stuck on the HTC logo screen (the white background that says "quietly brilliant"). It looks like it is looping as it shows the sprint screen every few minutes before going back to the HTC screen. I've tried wiping and reinstalling, but I am getting the same result.
FWIW, I root using Fresh Kitchen's auto-root if that matters.
Any suggestions? Should I try to flash Fresh's 2.1.2?
I have a rooted HTC Hero (Sprint), Fresh, Gumbo Kernel that runs wonderfully. Lateley however, my phone is not reading my sd card. Im unaware of the class, but it is an 8gb scan disk minisd. It has worked for over a year. I try to copy my information onto my desktop to reformat the sd, but it stops in the middle of the transfer. I have tried to find info on this issue, and I apologize if a thread has already been started.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to view or search the contents of the SD card, using the phone ... in other words when it's not connected to a computer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, I was having problems with my Hero not playing videos that were on the sd card, also having problems playing videos on the youtube app. So, I did a nand restore. I also did the restore because my phone was being laggy after installing the DB-OC kernel to speed up the phone. So, I nand restored back to before I flashed the kernel. So it is now running Aloysius 2.1 LWP non-OC. But, now all of a sudden my phone wont register my SD Card, at all. I run Dark Tremor app2sd, and can use some of my apps, while others just force close, or hang. I shut my phone off, and put in a different SD Card, to see if the phone was not registering it, instead of it being the card itself. The phone didn't register the other card.
So, I put in my original sd card after turning the phone off again, and it still isn't registering, and is force closing many apps. Does anyone know what to do in order to fix this? I have no idea why it even started having this problem registering the sd card, as it was reading it just fine earlier. I would do a complete wipe of the phone, and sd card, but am not sure if that will make the phone register the sd card again. When I put my sd card into my laptop, the laptop read it just fine. Please, someone, help me fix this problem! Should I wipe the phone, and sd card, and repartition the card? Or should I boot into recovery and select "wipe data/factory reset"+"wipe dalvik-cache"+"wipe SD:ext partition"?
Can you format the card while it's still in the phone and the phone is on? Not from recovery, but just by mounting the card and formatting it through your computer?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I've tried and tried again using RA and other linux based programs (GParted) to get my 8GB card to partition for apps2sd. Everything always runs smoothly and shows that the card is partitioned correctly. But then upon reboot the SD card shows full fat32 memory (6.9 GB). No matter what I do, after reboot, the partitions never happen. When I used GParted, and then loaded the SD card on the phone it always says that the SD card is damaged and I need to reformat. I've done that and rerun everything to no avail. Someone please tell me this issue is that the SD card is corrupted and I should give up. Because I've followed everything to a T as far as partitioning. With that I'll say that I had no problems rooting my phone, flashing ROM's/RA's, etc, and have been able to do whatever I want as far as new things to load. I've finally decided after all this time to do apps2sd, and I literally screwed around for 5+ hrs today, trying to partition the SD card properly. Any thoughts?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I called myself looking/searching for this information. Want to get a larger SD card in lieu of the 2gb that came with it. Does type matter? Any suggestions?
