I don't know if its all android phones or just the Sprint HTC Hero but is there any way to change the rings so they have a pause in between like normal phone ringers rather than a constant ring until answered?

Been trying hard since sunday to figure out how to add custom alarms to the alarm clock. I just miss alot of my alarms and want to be able to continue to use them on the Hero. so far everything I have tried does not work. I even created a "Media" folder with 3 sub folders "Alarms", "notifications", "Ringtones" even by placing them in these folders still nothing. I have been able to use the media player to add my music as a ringtone, however the music I have placed in the ringtone folder does not show up either in my phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone will freeze completely at random. It's happened two times so far. Once in the camera app and the second time on the home screen after I tried turning the screen off. I am using the most recent version of Cyanogen. It just does not work, at all. No input on the screen or the buttons. I have had to remove the battery both times. Is this a bug or something else. The home screen blacks out but the status bar is still seen. This happens at random too and it reappears whenever it wants to.
View 20 Replies View RelatedToday my phone started continuously re-booting itself. Only gets to the HTC screen and then re-boots. I have done multiple battery pulls with no results. I cannot boot into recovery either, tried that many times as well. My only option is a screen that I have not seen before that asks if I want to clear all data and then reset the device.

On my old phone, the ringer would have a secondish between rings. Now my Hero just rings rings rings with no pause inbetween rings. Is there anyway to put a slight pause inbetween rings??

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my Hero yesterday (coming from an iPhone 3GS). I have a major issue with the fact that if I am listening to music through the headphones and I receive a call, the music pauses. But when I remove the headphones to answer the call (I don't like using the headphones or any other bluetooth device to talk into) and am done my convo, as soon as I hang up the music starts blaring (leading to embarrassing moments etc).
Is there any way to make it so that it pauses after a call until I press play again? I tried every music player in the app store I could find but nothing did this, other than Astro Player which is not what I want in a music player (no organization by album, artist, playlists etc.)
I'm new to smart phones. I've never owned one before and now I'm the proud owner of a droid X. I'm confident in my handling so far, but I need some help with my knowledge of apps.
I want an app that will let me have rotating wallpapers and possibly rotating ringers. I want to be able to customize a little more. Does that exist?

I can't figure this out. I know how to change my "notification" ringer which is my text. I know how to change my standard ringer. I know how to assign ringers to contacts. Is there a way to change my ringer for Google Talk and Emails? I can't figure any of those out.

I was listening to music, and did not like the fact that when I had a notification, or someone called the phone's speaker would sound along with my earphones. Would like to make it so that the sound only comes through the earphones, but I did not find anything in the settings menu.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got a Droid about 2 weeks ago and I'm having a few small problems after coming from using Blackberrys for years.
1) After the phone goes to "sleep" and the screen locks, I'm not getting any ringers or notifications. I've missed a number of calls with my phone just sitting on the desk. It rings fine if the screen is on.
2) I use an IMAP/POP3 email address (.edu email) and my gmail. The POP3 will push to the phone OK for a bit(maybe 3-4hrs?) and then I don't get notifications anymore. If I turn the phone off and back on, it will check normally for a while before stopping again. have the check interval set to 30min.
I am new to the Droid, I was wondering I have moved music to the droid ( from Verizon ) from my computer, and just put them under the memory card, the songs are saved in the area of music, I can listen to the songs, just don't know how to make a specific song or ringtone as a text message ringer or email.

My question is this (I have searched everywhere and No answer), When you sync your phone, does it also Save the Ringers for the Individual Contacts? I remember with all my Windows phones before, when I would Hard Reset etc. it would automatically bring back saved Pictures and Ringers on each individual contact. If not, is there a way of doing it? Does the Evo back itself up as a say an iPod Touch does. (I like that just to be Safe in case of Hard Resets).

Im not willing to 'ROOT' my phone, im patiently waiting for 2.1.
I missed mytouch from when I had tmobile and got the Samsung intercept from sprint(back to my old plan) and I love it. However I've always loved on sprint phones being able to customize absolutely everything. I could make a ringer for someone when they call(which yes, I know how to do this on my android and have) but I also was able to make a special text/sms/notification ringtone for individuals as well. I only like hearing the message alert for certain people and then silent/vibrate for everyone else so it's getting frustrating. Are there any apps that do this? or any way to at all?

Anyone know where I can find, say, a Samsung or Sanyo ringer pack? Or a bunch of standard cell phone ringers? I've searched the android market and several apps therein and can't find what i'm looking for.
View 11 Replies View Relatedafter installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy biggest problem these days seems to be around the reminder tones for text messages, e-mails, calendar, etc. They only ring one time and it is this little bitty noise. If you don't hear it then you are out of luck unless you just happen to look at your phone. Is there an app where I can put different tones that will continue to beep with reminders until I acknowledge it?

Then as I started getting calls throughout the day, I noticed that all of my contacts had their ringers reset to the default ringer instead of their custom one. I haven't seen or heard of this problem anywhere else. I know people have had their messages completely wiped but this seems to be only Phone data.

1) After reading several reviews, it seems that in 4G areas/use the battery lasts about a half to full day. This is very concerning to me especially since I'm in a 4G area and would like to take advantage of it. Has anyone had experience with the phone in a 4G market and used 4G heavily in 1 day?
2) Are the ringers loud in addition to the speakerphone? Can you hear the phone ring at its highest setting on a busy street? I had an iphone 1st gen and even with the ringer at its highest volume, I'd miss a lot of calls.

I recently rooted my phone and was wondering how to install custom themes and lock screens for my hero. I am new to this as the title implies, so a link/instructions on how to install/create these would be what I'm looking for. View 1 Replies View Relatediv heard ppl who downloaded android 2.2 online and installed it themselves on there phone since its not being offered ota. but im wondering if its safe? the phone is not actually getting 2.2 ever, so doing this would be my own choice. but im wondering if it will run smoothly, better than 2.1 update 1, and if there will be any problems or if anything that may not work because of compatability problems with the phone. because some people have said that 2.2 isnt being released to the hero because the phone is not physically capeable of it do to software and hardware (such as space ram speeds etc.), and others have said they installed it themselves and it works fine, that its actually made to run using less space then 2.1 making it better.
