This is really annoying and concerning. Anyone having this problem and not using a task killer? Obviously phone on / off fixes, but worried about missing call.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed a couple days ago that some of my sounds aren't working on my Droid X. Ringtones, alarms, notifications work. Audible touch tones, audible selection, keyboard typing and some other sounds in games are not working. Also, when rebooting the "droid" sound isn't playing (not sure if that was taken out with froyo.) About a week ago these sounds were all working so I know it wasn't the update that killed them. And yes I've looked and made sure that all the checks were selected for these sounds.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had my Droid since lauch. The GPS which i use a ton geocaching and with the google maps has been flawless. Now all of a sudden the GPS has stopped being accurate. It always says im half mile to where i am, google maps/navigation doesnt work, and neither does any program i have that uses GPS. Always says the GPS Signal is not there. Any tips or has anyone have had this happen to you?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have already done a factory reset once before because the phones ringer stopped working. The "FVE" said it was something I downloaded from the market and basically made me reset. It really is not a big deal to do a reset since all the contacts can get synced to your google account. I just don't want to have to keep doing this fix.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a Droid about 2 weeks ago and I'm having a few small problems after coming from using Blackberrys for years.
1) After the phone goes to "sleep" and the screen locks, I'm not getting any ringers or notifications. I've missed a number of calls with my phone just sitting on the desk. It rings fine if the screen is on.
2) I use an IMAP/POP3 email address (.edu email) and my gmail. The POP3 will push to the phone OK for a bit(maybe 3-4hrs?) and then I don't get notifications anymore. If I turn the phone off and back on, it will check normally for a while before stopping again. have the check interval set to 30min.
Just starting to play around with the new X. I tried the car dock on my first trip with nav without having the charging cable plugged in. Nav seemed to stay on the turn-by-turn screen just fine, except that the screen kept timing out (as expected running on battery). Today I also plugged in a charging cable. Nav started out working fine, but then several times during my trip the X inexplicably switched away from the turn-by-turn screen to the directions screen (or to the "maps" top-down screen). I didn't see anything in the options, and can't imagine why the thing would be switching. Also, I just updated to the latest Google Maps application (last night, between the two nav tests), so maybe that had something to do with it....

Every so often (at least once a day) the Screen Timeout setting will change so that it's not set to anything (no bubble filled) and screen will not turn off spontaneously. It, in fact, seems to turn the screen on when this happens. I find the screen on when I had physically turned it off. This is wreaking havoc with my battery life.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe SetCpu suddenly stop working with my Droid X 2.2 OTA. So I decided to troubleshooting by clearing the data, clearing the cache, uninstalling, reinstalling, un-rooting the device and re-rooting the device. I'm able to get other "Rooted Apps" to recognize permission ,but SetCpu wont even ask for permission during the installation process after picking "Auto Recommend". After "Auto Recommend" it just goes into the app and all I can see is a blank black screen. I'm able to launch the widget app once in a while but it seems like the program is working in the background. I have emailed the dev about this rare problem and sent him some logcat one being the installation process and the other one is adding the widget to the home-screen and then launching the app through the widget. I'll be including those attachment if someone with android code skills willing to help me solve this problem. Edit: I did a titanium backup of SetCpu when it was working fine 10/6/10. I did both the app +data restoration and on restart of the device it is able to ask for root permision and it shows the SetCpu bar notification icon. This tells me that the app is working in the background but when I launch it up all I'm able to see is a black screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI went to check my call log this morning and noticed it was completely empty. Not too big of a deal but still somewhat of a hassle. Then as I started getting calls throughout the day, I noticed that all of my contacts had their ringers reset to the default ringer instead of their custom one. I haven't seen or heard of this problem anywhere else. I know people have had their messages completely wiped but this seems to be only Phone data.

I've had my Droid for a few days now, and I'm loving it, but it seems to really be having problems with my wifi at home. Whenever I use it on my wireless here at home, it basically seems to make the wifi stop working on both the droid and my laptop. Everything works fine for awhile, usually until the droid goes to sleep, and then I can't get to the internet on my laptop, or the droid. The signal is still fine, but it doesn't go anywhere.

Everytime I tried to google it I would just get a list of all the sound/music formats supported by android, but never just the format that the stock sounds are in. Is it different for different brand of phones. I didn't think it was, i figured all android phones used the same file formats, but you never know, so I figured I would ask. But either way, what file format the notification/alert sounds are in.
Just in case it is different for some phone makers, I am currently rocking the LG Revolution.
Well the problems started 3 weeks ago when i noticed whenever i move around the headphones inside the jack, the music stops or one of the ear buds stop working. so i thought it was the headphones since skullcandies don't last long. i got a new pair and listened again but it STILL HAPPENED . (btw, the phone is not rooted)
The Phone still plays media fine without the headphones, so i thought no big deal. NEW PROBLEMS started to occur. The phone would NOT PLAY Media files whatsoever. (games, music, notifications, APPS ) every time it happens i have to restart the phone.
I just got my droid eris yesterday, and I like it but i don't have any sounds at all, but can make and recieve calls and talk without a problem. I pluged in my head phones and could hear the application i was trying to use but when i unplug it nothing..HELP
View 9 Replies View RelatedI saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an application that must create a database and if that fails, then no sense moving forward. I've built an AlertDialog and show() it but it never displays. The logic falls through and then barfs because of the missing database.What is the right/best way to throw up a message and halt the activity? The code below executes fine (meaning the show() occurs while debugging and it falls to the next line) but the UI never displays this alert.BTW I realize the throw might not be the most graceful but I'm not even getting that far so.

Now the 'message' alert continues to go off and I can't stop it; I finally had to mute it. I have rebooted and even removed the battery and it won't stop.

However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I realize I have an email, text, whatever, so now I want the .mp3/sound to stop and not continue to play the duration of the clip!

All calls were clear, however today when I got home and made a call the call was not clear and had a background noise that sounds like a shower or white nose. All subsequent calls I make have this background noise and I tried rebooting the phone, putting my sim card in another phone (call was clear on other phone), and tried factory resetting the nexus. The noise still persists.
I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem and what you would suggest I do.
Tipping I can stand all the pains of the Droid Eris, But the keyboard issue I've been having is on top of the list. The keyboard randomly stops working. I go to respond to a text, or search the Internet..And the keyboard shows the flashing line as if to type, But it wont type. I will randomly enter letters and the spell check box still pops up. I restart it, or remove the battery but once i turn it back on and try typing again and still same issue. Then 5 min later it works. Its random. Annoying. And Ideas what could cause it? or fix it?

I was listening to music, and did not like the fact that when I had a notification, or someone called the phone's speaker would sound along with my earphones. Would like to make it so that the sound only comes through the earphones, but I did not find anything in the settings menu.
