I am running darchdroid 2.6.4 at the moment and it has setcpu already installed. well i might have messed with the clock and now i know the phone is wayyy underclocked. (unuseable) so how can I get rid of Setcpu and go back to default clocks? its running too slow to get into RootExplorer. I know how to push an apk thru adb but have never deleted one. is that what I have to do? Is there a link explaining how to do this?> and can I do it with the phone in recovery?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi rooted my hero and flashed zen. it worked ok but i wanted to try a more vanilla ROM so i nandroid backup and flashed darchdroid. didnot like it at all and want to go back. try to do nandroid from phone, but it tells me error, use adb? how do i get my phone back?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I rooted my phone to Fresh 2.0D and learned how to do the Live Wallpapers hack as well, I have enjoyed my phone so much that I am changing my mind about getting the EVO. I am one of those geeks that has to have all the newest toys but since I've rooted and installed a custom Rom I find myself comparing my phone to the EVO and slowly realizing that my phone can be just as good. It really was the tethering thing that changed my mind. I think I will get the EVO once someone has learned to root it and do amazing things with it but until then, I am keeping the Hero. I truly love this phone.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been reloading the phone today after putting the "offical" RUU on post having the pre leak. I rooted 2.1 sucsessfully. I wanted to put Gallery3D.apk on the phone via adb push. I have it in the tools directory and had pushed it before. Now I get a failed to copy / permission denied. Not sure what's up. Last time it pushed to the pre leak no problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally opted to try Fresh's new ROM yesterday (really sweet!) but am having a problem with how it is handing gmail emails. With Fresh 1.1 I would typically receive my emails moments after they were sent, and before they would show up on my computer.
But on 2.0d they are showing up 20-30 minutes later. I've looked for settings and can't even seem to find a frequency setting.
I'd love to get this working and if it's possible could see this as my everyday ROM! But I need my emails promptly. Anyone know what's going on?
One other thing, I noticed that I can't set ringtones for people. Not a deal breaker but has anyone else noticed this?
On a side note, the calendar is AMAZING! I'll hate to have to go back to Fresh 1.1 for that reason alone.
Is anyone else's push email from Gmail broken? Mine is. I've played with the settings, restored to the stock rom, sent myself an email from the computer, but the notification never comes up. If I go into Gmail, the mail is sitting there for me to read though.
View 39 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for about 4 months now, and other than the battery issue (I do use it a lot) I'm pretty satisfied. However since Thursday last week, I've had the SAME phone number call me, have someone jabber at me, and then hang up! I looked up the area code, and it's in Jamaica! Today has been the worst, I've had 5 calls from that same number. Frankly its really started to get annoying. I called Sprint, and asked customer care if they can block that number from the account. And they can't do that. Apparently blocking that number is an infringement on their rights. On my Hero, I've been able to find that I can just push all those calls from that number to my voice mail, but I can't block it from my line altogether. Anyone else having the same or similar issue that has come up with another option?

I am coming from a Pre, which had a very nice notification system. The new email notification would show the sender, subject, and number of new emails. You could then click to either go to the mailbox, or directly to the latest new email shown at your discretion.
I have set up both GMail through the GMail app, and an Exchange server through the Mail app, but the only notification I get is "New email" without specifics. Also, clicking won't bring me directly to the new email, but to the Inbox.
Installed the XDA keyboard so I could access Speech-to-text input. Works great except that the "Hide Keyboard" button doesn't appear after I disabled the "Smiley Hack" per instructions I'd read. I never use smileys but often use the hide keyboard function.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI once had a samsung jet which was great but it was on orange and i wanted it on 3 because i recieved a better signal and wanted their push email. But when i put my three sim into my now unlocked Jet i found that i lacked 3's certificates and couldn't tether or get 3's push email.Anyway this made me decide to upgrade to a 3 hero to gain their functions however it seems their are no "certificate" needed and the hero seems to have its own push email service and can tether easily.SO my question is if i debrand my hero and thus can ugrade to 2.1 android will i still recieve free push email and be able to tether? as i guess if i change my rom it might be hard to go back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a TELUS HTC Hero and a few days ago I was visiting Seattle. While roaming on AT&T my Hero would not do push for my Exchange mail. When I checked the update frequency it was set to "As items arrive" but the field said something like "Sync disabled while roaming". I find it really stupid that this isn't a user setting. Has anyone else found this? The other odd thing was that I couldn't send out mail via Exchange while roaming.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have my yahoo mail account set up to my hero I never get my mail pushed to the phone I have set it to 5 minute push 15 minute push etc etc .. but works fine if I manually check it, all my mail is there. I alsohave my yahoo account set as default. When I set it up I assume it was done properly hence the reason I can receive the mail if I refresh it myself ...are there any other settings that I may be missing?

Ever since upgrading to custom roms a few months ago, I seem to be susceptible to WAP Push Messages.
These are like text messages but the icon is a little globe with a download arrow and a 'W'. Its basically a text containing a web link. "He Me In My Teen Bedroom! Free" was the last message I got, but without the censorship.
There seems to be no option other than to delete the message, go to the web link or view the message details. (Phone number, time of day it arrived etc.)Does anyone know how to stop these annoying messages?
after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

Anyhow - I need to know if there is some way to push data to the phone from a server. I'd prefer to avoid using SMS to push (user charges), or constantly polling the server (lets see, every 5 seconds = 12 times a minute, 720 times an hour, over 17000 a day)
Please Post all Sprint Hero update rumors here. This not to be confused with the " Official 2.1 Thread. I would also sugest to our ever so patient moderators to move any post of this nature to this thread. Let's clean up the forum and when the update is out out we can get rid of all this with one flush.
