View 10 RepliesI have yet to see this problem mentioned in this forum and it's very specific problem which is hard to describe but I will do my best.
Problem: Opening messages app takes me to my last conversation and auto-opens the softkeyboard.
I've found only one work-around for this. It goes as follows
Workaround: Start the Hero up and wait until you have at least 2 text messages. Open the notifications window and click the "new messages" notification. This will open up the messages app showing all conversations then click Home. Once doing this, no matter what you do, clicking the messages app will always take you to all conversations rather than the last conversation you had open.
If I access the first new text message, upon starting the phone, in any other manner than stated above I get the problem where after viewing a specific conversation and clicking Home, I open the messages app and it goes back to that specific conversation.
My trackball is getting dirty and its noticeable when the light is on. Is there any way I can turn off the light permanently? Maybe an app? Anything?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since I rooted my phone to Fresh 2.0D and learned how to do the Live Wallpapers hack as well, I have enjoyed my phone so much that I am changing my mind about getting the EVO. I am one of those geeks that has to have all the newest toys but since I've rooted and installed a custom Rom I find myself comparing my phone to the EVO and slowly realizing that my phone can be just as good. It really was the tethering thing that changed my mind. I think I will get the EVO once someone has learned to root it and do amazing things with it but until then, I am keeping the Hero. I truly love this phone.

Here is his explanation if anyone needs it...

I've tried about a dozen "mono" apps and have found nothing that will do what I want. I have also tried the Droid Incredible and my current phone the GS3. I have a 2011 BMW and for some reason they didn't include a2dp in their stereo system. Nothing I do will force the stereo to play music or notifications, or read out lout texts through the car speakers. The only thing that will go through is phone calls.
I've accidentally discovered something interesting. If I am on a call through Bluetooth in the car and navigating at the same time, the navigation voice will come through the cars speakers as well.So what I need is something to trick the car into thinking my phone is on a call, thus triggering the Bluetooth to transmit phone sounds through the speakers, this way I can use a text message reader, music, whatever.
So the app/hack would need to emulate whatever the phone does with Bluetooth signals when it starts a call. All sounds the phone makes should go to Bluetooth.....which it seems like its already doing while on a call.
Is there a way to observe a bluetooth pairing and then be aware of when the connection no longer exists? Basically I want to observe when my phone connects to another device and what that connection is dropped to that I may execute an action based on that connection.

I was cleaning all the crap off my phone I don't use anymore and I believe I accidently removed the bluetooth software that allows it to connect to stereo bluetooth headsets. I can control the player with the headset, I can make phone calls from it, but when I try to play music there is no sound.
I was trying to reset the phone using RUU, but it reboots the phone and then says it cannot reconnect after that and the software shuts down. I can still sync with outlook, so my driver is not the issue. I am out of ideas.
Is there anyway possible to reinstall just the bluetooth portion of the rom?
First, I still can't forward emails properly. If it makes any difference this is an exchange email. All forwarded emails are still sent as an Eml attachment, and still get a bunch of jibberish texts.
Second, Bluetooth is still not working properly in my car. Don't know what compatibility issue is there.
And just to throw it in there, I'm posting from my handset and on screen keyboard, it is typing very very slow, better with the slide out but damn...
Installed the XDA keyboard so I could access Speech-to-text input. Works great except that the "Hide Keyboard" button doesn't appear after I disabled the "Smiley Hack" per instructions I'd read. I never use smileys but often use the hide keyboard function.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if the Hero supports Bluetooth GPS? I've read where this is only supported in 2.0+ devices. If you're running a 2.0+ ROM, would this mean you can run a Bluetooth GPS or does it also need to be supported by the Bluetooth hardware in your phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedGiven post count, join date... i'm more of a lurker. However I'm looking for opinions of others for an OC ROM. Day one I got the phone I was on Fresh 1.1, then wanted some 2.0 flavor and up'd to Fresh 2.0d. I love the ROM, with the exception I want to be able to use SetCPU (For OC and UC abilities) I don't use Bluetooth or Facebook/Twitter so any issues with OC roms directly related to those issues are not a problem. I prefer something less buggy and not in development phase. So what do you recommend, and why?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a work phone with bluetooth and 3G internet capiblity that I don't pay for but the phone SUCKS! I have my personal Sprint Hero rooted and flashed to Pageplus. I would like to tether my Hero to the work phone thru bluetooth and use the 3G internet from the work phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bluetooth'd my Hero to my laptop and here's more info on it.
1. The speakers on the laptop serve as a wireless speaker system when you make or receive a call.
2. The speakers also play music from your Hero.
3. Transfer files to and from the Hero
4. Send a fax
5. Tether!
6. PIM sync (hello WinMo users!)
7. Wireless printing
I've performed all of these functions without a hitch. So the Hero looks as if it's a better phone than anticipated... at least for me anyway.
I just got a new bluetooth headset, and I set it up with my Hero only to find *gasp* no voice dialing? The whole point of having the headset is to not have to look at the phone while driving! The owner's manual of the Hero says it supports hands free profiles, as does my headset(obviously) but there's no voice dial. Unbelievable!
View 10 Replies View RelatedTwo issues I would appreciate help with.
1. How do I stop this message? "Bluetooth Headset Disconnected" I get it very often on my Hero. I have the phone paired with my 2009 Toyota, and leave the Bluetooth turned on on the phone all the time, so I don't have to remember to do that each time I enter or exit the car. I have also paired my phone with my wife's car, but she uses her phone with her car most of the time. Is there a way to stop this message? It has been hours today since I used my car, and I continue to see this message pop up on the phone. It does go away after a few seconds, but it is annoying.
2. When I go to Bluetooth settings, there are 3 devices shown, CAR MULTIMEDIA, CAR M_MEDIA, and HANDS FREE. I think our two cars are called CAR MULTIMEDIA and CAR M_MEDIA, and another one that I once paired with a Garmin GPS called "HANDS FREE". Is there any way to delete that 3rd device? And is this causing the above message?
Has anyone tried to pair with a Bluetooth keyboard yet? I saw someone doing this with a pda one time in a coffee shop. It looked like it could be very handy at times.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a htc hero and I am very impressed with the phone and the os as a whole but I am having one small issue. I have a pair of bluetooth headphones and when I go to pair them I get an error that says "There was a problem connecting to NS-BTHDP." (ns-bthdp == headphone name). The weird thing is, the phone says its connect to phone audio, even though I never entered in the passcode. So I go and try to listen to music/podcasts and it plays through the speak phone.. but if I go to make a phone call it goes through the headset.I have no idea what the problem is, as these worked fine on my old gen2 ipod touch.Does the hero have limited bluetooth connectivity, or are the headphones not compatible? I would like to know more about the error, does android os have an error log that I can look at? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

View 12 Replies View RelatedCan anyone recommend me a Bluetooth headset for my Sprint Hero? I had a couple that worked really well with my Moto Q9c (WinMo 6.1) but don't seem to have all the same functionality with the Hero (controlling calls, etc.).
So I figured I'd look around for a new headset. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
So I've read the threads about the ROM leak causing the SMS problems, and so far I've not paired my Hero up with the bluetooth dialer in my car. The problem is, I really like using the bluetooth dialer in my car to accept and place calls - tapping on the touchscreen while driving is going to get me killed.
So is it safe to pair the phone with the car bluetooth, or is that type of connection what is going to cause the phone to stop receiving SMS?
Since Bluetooth is sketchy on the Hero, I figure it would be useful to have a list of peoples' experiences with different devices. If you have a Bluetooth device, please reply with it's manufacturer, name, the exact OS you are using, and how well it works. I'll try to keep this post updated.

I purchased a new Sprint HTC Hero a couple of days ago.I have been pleased except for one small problem. While I can get the Hero to connect to my Chrysler Uconnect handsfree system over bluetooth, it does not seem to transfer the phone book over to the device. I cannot find an automatic or manual setting to send the phone book over.I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?
