I have my yahoo mail account set up to my hero I never get my mail pushed to the phone I have set it to 5 minute push 15 minute push etc etc .. but works fine if I manually check it, all my mail is there. I alsohave my yahoo account set as default. When I set it up I assume it was done properly hence the reason I can receive the mail if I refresh it myself ...are there any other settings that I may be missing?

Not got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

Please verify your username/password." I've tried the username with and without "@yahoo.co.uk" and double-checked that the password is correct.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched quite a bit and haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem.I've been using the built-in Mail app on my Hero for the last month with my Yahoo e-mail account (it's a Plus account, using the POP settings provided by Yahoo)...with zero issues. Yesterday, I noticed that I wasn't receiving new messages anymore. I've got the program set to update every hour, and even when manually clicking refresh, the phone would not download any new e-mail messages from my account (and wouldn't send either). There were no error messages though, it appeared to be synced up (the time would show up next to the sync symbol in the top left corner of the app.I knew my settings were correct, so I figured I would just try to delete the account and set it up again. I selected "delete account" and after giving confirmation, the message on the screen said that it was deleting the account but it never finished. The program wouldn't do anything, figured I'd try to force it to close with my task killer but Mail didn't even show up as running. Next step...shut the phone down and powered it back on. Opened Mail up and the account was no longer showing, however there is still some memory of it somewhere as when I attempt to set it up again it tells me that there is already an account with that e-mail address.I can get around that by setting up a new account and changing one character in my address until all the settings are entered in (and then go back and change it), but I'd like to find out if I can address this problem head on (without a hard reset).

I am a Yahoo PLUS member, so I set it up as the yahoo mail site said to (plus.pop.mail.yahoo.mail etc). When I do a manual mail check, it takes FOREVER to download the emails! What is going on here? gmail is super fast to download, but the yahoo takes 5 minutes sometimes. i dont understand. I dont want to use the IMAP either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for about 4 months now, and other than the battery issue (I do use it a lot) I'm pretty satisfied. However since Thursday last week, I've had the SAME phone number call me, have someone jabber at me, and then hang up! I looked up the area code, and it's in Jamaica! Today has been the worst, I've had 5 calls from that same number. Frankly its really started to get annoying. I called Sprint, and asked customer care if they can block that number from the account. And they can't do that. Apparently blocking that number is an infringement on their rights. On my Hero, I've been able to find that I can just push all those calls from that number to my voice mail, but I can't block it from my line altogether. Anyone else having the same or similar issue that has come up with another option?

When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

I just went to the email widget, typed in my email address and password, and it autoconfigured the imap settings. Worked like a charm. Yesterday it decided to "authentification failed, please verify your username/password"
Well, although my un/pw were right, I changed my pw just to be sure I wasnt being a dumbass, no luck. I googled the problem and heard some people changed to pop3 so I tried those settings, no luck. I even tried changing my preferred location to asia, lol, no luck.
I see this has been a problem for a LOT of people since the beginning, but whats really bothering me is I had yahoo for a month...problem free. So whats the deal with this? I am NOT paying for yahoo. this crap makes me crabby!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.

Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point.This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? I remember getting this with handcent and default text program but easily shut that off. Can't seem to figure it out with mail. Any ideas how to disable the default mail notifications without deleting the account in the default mail app?

I can't seem to access my yahoo business email account through the new Yahoo app. On my computer, I login with one login id and I have access to all of my yahoo email accounts, both personal and business. When entering my yahoo business email address and password at the sign in screen of the Yahoo app, it connects me to my personal yahoo email account.Is it possible to set up this yahoo app so I can access my business email?

View 26 Replies View RelatedSo, Yahoo released its own mail and messenger apps today. I tried it out for about 5 minutes. It seems like a slimmer version of their Yahoo Go! that they used to have for Blackberry. So far, not impressed. But at least its a step in the right direction for them. They should just allow mail setup using IMAP or convert to exchange servers. That way Yahoo folks can have their calendars and contacts all synced up.
View 30 Replies View RelatedAs you well know, Android provides push mail just for 1 G-Mail account. I use 1 g-mail account for personal use and 1 for business, and I find the other e-mail program included a real mess....
However, a couple of days ago I heard that Google provided sync capabilities with PUSH gmail on other devices (Iphone, Blackberry -they had it already - , Symbian, and Windows Mobile).
So what I did is I took the Windows Mobile instructions found here: Google Sync : Set Up Your Windows Mobile Phone - Mobile Help
And plugged the settings into my Active Sync e-mail ("work e-mail", the one HTC included in the MyTouch 3g and puff I suddenly got push GMail for my second account as well.
Beware:
-you cannot archive like in Gmail and you will have to test the different features (does it delete from the server? do folders work?)
-as of now, only my incoming e-mail works. Outgoing e-mail acts like it's working but it doesn't send and doesn't show in the sent folder.
So I downloaded the Yahoo mail app and it seems pretty nice. My only question is is there away to regulate how often it checks for mail. I have searched for it but can not seem to find the option anywhere. Thanks for any input.

I deleted it and then put it back on the phone and I have the old emails but no new ones will transmit. Any solutions? thoughts? I am using mail droid to get mail from this account now but I want to use the main email function for this phone!
