im on rooted hero what would happen if i did a factory reset! having problems with phone lagging and not performing straight away, may be cause flashing roms all time may be clogged up, would it be still rooted if i did.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have 3 accounts set up on the phone, blueyonder(virgin media) hotmail and gmail. I use my blueyonder account for my job and it is important that emails reach me in a timely manner, i have come from a blackberry so no probs there. The porblem i am having is the dont always come through straight away, i have the phone set to check server every 5 mins, yesterday evening at 18.00 i received 9 mails all at once which had been sent from 14.00 onwards in the afternoon. I have also have had it when emails have come through a day late. Does anyone get the same problems, is this a phone problem or a virgin media problem, i suppose it could be a connection problem but i have wifi at my home and this was on from when i got home.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got fed up with slow responses, graphical fripperies that get in the way and occasional incompatibilities and have now dumped the HTC user interfaces as I wasn't using their widgets anyway, that's all you really lose. Even HTC's home app has an annoying "overshoot" for effect when scrolling from one screen to the next, which just gets in the way. Looks nice at first but gets annoying after a week or so. Am now using stock Android and the phone's a lot quicker.

People tell me it finally dials after a few straight-to-voicemail tries. This didn't happen with any of my previous phones (Nokias and Motos), in both of the aforementioned countries. I really hope my rubber case has all to do with this because I bought the phone from eBay (i.e. no warranty).

I have been flashing roms a long time, since the days of sholesmod. Things have gotten easier, developers add great tools to roms to make switching over even easier, but there is one thing no matter what rom i run that i notice. Typically after 2-3 days after rom and kernal settles in, no matter what rom( I have tried almost all) i get so many redraws and home screen lag that i am starting to get tired of having a slow phone. I know your going to ask how much memory i have left on the internal(normally roughly at least 90 mb), Did i wipe boot/system/ data/cache/ yes before every rom install religiously. Am i over clocked? yes normally run in the 1200s, my droid is a beast at accepting every kernal/rom i throw at it. Lately i have been running lfy 1.7 and UD 2.0 in the last month and they start off so fast and impressive and then just get so lagged after a few days. I typically use launcher pro, although i have used adw alot, some roms work better with one or the other. I always use titanium backup, i always let the new rom install its own system apps and never use backups from other roms.I can deal with some lag at times but my biggest thing is app draw re-draw and when i have more than say 5 widgets running it gets so bad. a big culprit seems to be beautiful widgets, yes its pretty much my favorite of all. I am looking for any good advice from all the amazing helpers in these forums. My current set up is UD2.0(first time with UD) i still am running the stock kernal but looking for best advice on working (non-boot-looping) kernals to try that have ulv and interactive governors.

But since yesterday, I have not heard any rings. Calls are going straight to VM. I thought it was a Google Voice thing. GV is known to have this problem in the past.) Then, I disabled my cell number from GV and calls are directed to the Verizon VM. I have not changed any settings.

So I'm looking for an app that will autosync the photos on my phone straight to dropbox.
I was using dropsync and I really like it, but dropsync autosyncs the stuff from dropbox to my phone as well. I have files that I just simply don't need on my phone and would just prefer to have my phone upload to dropbox.
I guess what I'm asking for is an app that auto uploads, but doesn't download (or requires manual download).
I have now been using the samsung galaxy for a week now and there is only one factor that is letting down the phone for me and thats the lagging. I have no complaints about the camera even though its without the flash, the internet speed is top notch and the innovative swype makes life so much easier. However what irritates me is the time it takes to access an app or returning to the home page. It must take 30 seconds or more before the screen is loaded which is annoying when you want to do something in a hurry. This also occurs when someone is ringing me and I'm trying to answer, the phone freezes for 10 seconds. I,ve only downloaded around 10 apps so surely that cannot be the problem. I've got a week left before I have to come to a decision whether or not to keep the phone or return it back to vodafone and would like some advice or reassurance about this problem. Also out of interest I would like to know if anyone has encountered the same problem on the iphone 4. The one area in which the galaxy beats the iphone 4 is the price considering what you get with both however it may be worth it to use a phone that dosent lag.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've rooted my phone in 2.0.1 because I've failed a few times to get the 2.2 update to work properly and installing 2.1 upon rooting takes too much time when you fail over and over.
With that said I tried installing 2.2 via the recovery. It unpacked installed etc. Then when it booted it now had a new opening splash. It just said android with some light going over it as if it were loading possibly? But it would blink as if to boot into something and just pop back up like it was resetting.
Then I noticed on mydroid they mentioned installing an update.zip file in order to use the sprecovery. Tried that on 2.01 then tried installing the 2.2 recovery via advanced recovery etc. Still just the android name continuously. I've succesfully gotten smoked glass working on this phone before. So I know my way around a little.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong? All the guides I'm finding have dead links so its been a real pain to find a straightfpward step by step.

I received my Desire on Saturday, I'm not very happy with the battery performance at all so far. All automatic updates are off and 3G/Wifi disabled. Yesterday I unplugged it at 0630 (at 100% battery), and despite very little use it was totally drained by 4pm. Today I haven't used it at all (as a test) and it looks like it's only going to be fractionally better. When I check the Battery stats for today 'Cell Standby' is at 74% and 'Phone idle' is at 18%. My question is, 3 days into ownership is this poor performance normal or do you think there's a problem with the battery?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II, running Cyanogenmod in an early version of Kit Kat (4.4).
My internal SD card is a little odd as in that it has an emulated SD partition inside of it (though I'm not totally sure if it's inner workings). This happened after I first installed Cyanogenmod. What do I need to have ready before the reset? (I want to install the carbon Rom on my phone).
Confirmed with a friend in a different state, and also from a person with a Crackberry. Data connection lost is the error. Looks like they'll be going the way of Squalor-Mart and performing a Rollback?

I got the Droid from Verizon a couple days ago, and about two days ago I rooted it, and I'm now using Bugles Beast 0.9 with a 5 slot Chevy 1.2ghz kernel. I keep the CPU set to 800 because i feel like 1200ghz is burning up the battery unnecessarily when I'm playing games. However, I can't figure out why sometimes when I'm returning to the home screen, no icons will display for about 5 seconds (usually when exiting a program that eats up a large amount of CPU). Could it have something to do with Set CPU settings?
