I've been wanting to get a dedicated GPS unit for a couple years now, but could never justify the cost over other things.In comes Sprint navigation. Wow, this thing is just as good as my friend's Garmin! Except it's built into the phone which means one less device to carry around. GPS lock is near instantaneous and directions have been spot on!I'm thoroughly pleased I didn't waste the money on a dedicated unit.

It was late and I was trying to figure out someway to delete the Sprint NFL App and somehow deleted the Sprint Navigation app. Is there anyway to reinstall it? I can't find one.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI haven't rooted or flashed a new ROM to my phone yet, but I'm thinking about it.After reading Fresh 2.0d seems like a good one, especially since it doesn't have all the bloatware with it.The only app that I want from the bloatware is the Sprint Navigation.I saw the file to reinstall all the applications back, but I only want the Navigation.Does anyone know how to flash just that app to the phone and skip the rest of the Sprint bloatware?

I was with a friend of mine driving and told her I needed to get a GPS (with all the times I'm getting lost, etc.)She has a Palm Pre and told me I have Sprint Navigation.I had no clue.I've even heard this was exclusive to Sprint.With all the marketing, and talk about 2.1 with GPS Navigation, how could I not have known about this wonderful App on my Android HTC Hero?

However Google Navigation knew about the new roads (1 extra before i knew, let alone tomtom)
How can they offer such great navigation for free when i have just paid ?74 for my tom tom map update and it's still out of date.! if htc/google can fix the issue of calls via blutooth whilst using HTC desire for navigation i tell you TOMTOM are history and thats hard to say after all these years!

Even though I am entering my correct phone number and the PIN the Sprint HTC Hero Nav app gave me, I am getting an "Incorrect Phone number or PIN" error message. Called Sprint support, they weren't able to login either.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI used to get stuff like "turn left onto such and such street." Now I get "such and such street" and I have to look up to see whether the arrow is left or right. So, I checked settings. I'm on "full audio." But, I set it to instructions only, saved settings, even rebooted the phone, then reopened the app, but no change. I set it back to full audio, saved, reboot, nothing. Still not getting full prompts, the way it used to.. NOTHING changed, that I can figure out. It just stopped working properly on Friday. I'm running Fresh 1.1 rom, but I flashed that about 2 weeks ago and the navigation prompts were working fine .. until Friday.

Every time I go on the market, browser, check my email, or send a text, Sprint Navigation is shown running in all of my 3rd party app managers. I have task killer so I can kill it as I please, however I would like to completely prevent it from starting up when i'm not even using it. Any ideas on how I can accomplish this?

Whenever I try to use it, it doesn't show my route like where I'm going. It looks like just a black screen in the middle and the voice doesn't work.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI rooted my sprint HTC hero and installed CM6 on it the other day, and everything is working great... except voicemail. I was using the Sprint VVM app, and that worked, but I got that annoying SMS message with each new voicemail, so I decided to switch to Google Voice (for voicemail only). It seems to work, except when my friends (who also have Sprint) call, and I don't answer the call, they either get a fast busy signal or they hear a voice say something like "Call cannot be completed. Goodbye" and then it hangs up.
Calling from land-lines and other cells seems to work ok? I just enabled Google Voice today, so do I need to wait a certain amount of time before it works Sprint to Sprint, or? Has anyone else seen this before? I should mention, it only happens on unanswered calls. If i dismiss the call before it's done ringing, it properly goes to google voicemail.
after installing 2.2 on my hero, everything was working fine, until now. im having problems with my text messages, they wont send under sprints network, if i put it in roaming then they send right away, but roaming has awefully slow (1x) network speeds, but if i put it back to the 3g network speeds of sprint then everytime i try to send a text it just swirls in circles (the little thing next to the message) and wont send. is this sprints network being down? or does this have to do with the 2.2 update?i dont think its sprint because my mom and sister arent having any problems with there phones from the same plan. but i tryed restarting many times, taking out and leaving out the battery, putting it in airplane mode and turning that back off to reset connection, iv tryed everything and cant get it to work, so idk what to do, and i dont understand why if it was a software problem with the 2.2 installation, why would they send in roaming but not on sprints network?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a rooted EVO and it has Fresh 3.1.0.1 on it. I'm trying to get a couple Sprint APK's (Sprint TV and Navigation.) I looked up info on Fresh 3.1.0.1 and it says it's supposed to be in a folder in the sd card(removed apk's or something like that) but none of them are in there. I've also looked everywhere for a place to download them, but have come up with no results.

I searched google and the forum with no luck. My phone is already paired with the BlueAnt for calls. Does any one know how to get the Sprint Nav audio to the BlueAnt instead of the phone speaker?
