View 17 Replies View RelatedThis phone has a great feature that i wish I had on my Pre. After searching for something in google it allows you to search for it with Sprint Navigation. Problem is that when I hit Sprint Nav it says the destination is "null" and I still have to manually type it all out which sucks for driving. In "maps" the destination address is already filled in. Is there a way to fix this or a setting needed to have the address input automatically in sprint nav?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to put in an address this morning in google navigation to use for the first time and it had several addresses cached that I had searched on my laptop when looking up stuff on google maps. How do I clear these cached addresses out of my phone?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI recently just rooted my phone to 2.0d and added the live wallpapers to it. Well after I added the live wallpapers my google navigation wasn't working properly. Whenever I try to use it, it doesn't show my route like where I'm going. It looks like just a black screen in the middle and the voice doesn't work.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan anyone confirm if Google Navigation can be used to just show your progress/location on a road while driving, without having to have an actual destination input?I know this was shown on a few of Rob's videos as not being possible, but just wanted to confirm if anyone had any further info on it.
View 30 Replies View RelatedWhat is difference between "Navigation" and "Sprint Navigation" apps?Newby to the smart phone, and am still trying to understand this "app" stuff. The "Navigation" app is a blue arrow, and is the one I use for map and voice navigation. The "Sprint Navigation" app seems to do the same thing in a much more belabored manner. Are these both Sprint, or what? Why two similar apps?Is one supposed to do something that the other doesn't. I don't get it.
View 15 Replies View RelatedA client of mine also has an Eris and I was helping her get her navigation system set up and teach her how to use it. I wanted to put the google navigator icon (the blue arrow) on her home screen but could not find it anywhere in her apps. I did find the google navigation (map icon) app and set that up for her. So, my questions are: What is the difference between the two? How come I couldn't find the navigator app on her phone (on mine, it's under "programs")?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI haven't rooted or flashed a new ROM to my phone yet, but I'm thinking about it.After reading Fresh 2.0d seems like a good one, especially since it doesn't have all the bloatware with it.The only app that I want from the bloatware is the Sprint Navigation.I saw the file to reinstall all the applications back, but I only want the Navigation.Does anyone know how to flash just that app to the phone and skip the rest of the Sprint bloatware?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI went to use Sprint Navigation today, and received this message "New version of Sprint navigation available. Upgrade now?" Has anyone done this upgrade? If so, please let us all know what differences you see, and do you recommend the upgrade? I'm currently using Sprint Navigation Premium v2.8.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just discovered that Sprint Navigation was on my phone. I was with a friend of mine driving and told her I needed to get a GPS (with all the times I'm getting lost, etc.)She has a Palm Pre and told me I have Sprint Navigation.I had no clue.I've even heard this was exclusive to Sprint. With all the marketing, and talk about 2.1 with GPS Navigation, how could I not have known about this wonderful App on my Android HTC Hero?
View 23 Replies View RelatedI've been wanting to get a dedicated GPS unit for a couple years now, but could never justify the cost over other things. In comes Sprint navigation. Wow, this thing is just as good as my friend's Garmin! Except it's built into the phone which means one less device to carry around. GPS lock is near instantaneous and directions have been spot on!I'm thoroughly pleased I didn't waste the money on a dedicated unit.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWondering if anyone else has had this problem. I travel extensively on the road and always use the google nav. The problem is when a phone call comes in within 30sec. to a minute at the most the Evo reboots itself. This has happened to three different phones. I drive a vehicle equipped with bluetooth and have synced my phone to the car and the same thing happens when I get a call and answer through the car while using google nav. Was also wondering why the heck google didnt think about automatically muting the voice on the nav while in a call...it's so annoying while talking to hear the nav voice talking in your ear. The other caller can not here it but its very loud in your ear while trying to talk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedA not so helpful pop up help box I selected on the navigation screen tells me I can pair my BlueAnt ST3 with the Sprint Nav but doesn't tell me how. I searched google and the forum with no luck. My phone is already paired with the BlueAnt for calls. Does any one know how to get the Sprint Nav audio to the BlueAnt instead of the phone speaker?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt takes a good 1 minute to log in. Then it takes another minute to route an address. Maybe i'm just impatient, usually used to quicker searches with Google, which also has its share of lag when searching while driving.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use Google Maps Navigation from within my application. I've found on the net it can be done with this intent : Intent i = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("geo:"+lat +","+lng)); where lat and lng are the latitude and longitude. Unfortunately, I get a SecurityException :'(. Can someone tell me which permission I should ask ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'd like to show you off-road GPS navigator utility, created for active people. I like no-map Garmin GPS handy navigators, so I created software, that has most functions of such navigator. TripComputer records tracks of your trips and stores your interesting waypoints. You can view them on map view, see stats like distances, speed, time, altitute graph, bearing, azimuth, and many more. Also, if you have internet connection, you can send your selected waypoints and find waypoints sent by others,to use in you own trips.
At this time, TripComputer does not use maps - because in off-road areas, maps are useless. However, topo maps will be supported in future versions. Also, I'm working on GPX files and some geocaching support.
I just got my replacement DINC and I can't seem to find the Navigation app to put on my homescreen. I already have google maps but I had the navigation shortcut on my old DINC and that was handy to have so I can just speak my destination after opening it, and now I can't find it. I have the latest update to Google Maps.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know the EVO is coming with sprint navigation. Have they blocked Google navigation service at all? Im doing research on this phone for a friend needing an upgrade.
View 13 Replies View RelatedNo OTA. No Google navigation but I still love my Eris!
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to put a shortcut on your homescreen that would open Google Nav with directions to that point?
IE putting an icon on the home screen that says "Home", tap on it, and Google Nav opens up with directions to your home that you've previously programed.
Using Fascinate if it matters
I made the switch to Google Navigation after using Sprint's Navigation application for a few years on my previous BlackBerry and love it! It's my primary GPS application. So, here's my query. While I was tinkering with it today, I noticed the option to choose an alternate route. We are going to be driving to LA a little later this evening and the default route Google Navigation chose was longer in both time and distance compared to one of the alternate routes (total of three routes). The default route gave said it is 332 miles and 6hr/9min. When I pulled up alternate routes, the second option was 325 miles and 5hr/49min. The third route was over 7 hours long. Do you guys know what methodology Google Navigation uses to pick the default route? Why the longer route?

Has anyone else noticed their sprint navigation messing up?Sometimes its slow, and when it isn't slow it recalculates and tells me i'm on a different road than i am.Sometimes it will just go back but sometimes i have to manually hit recalculate route.Someone else stated that they had this problem with their instinct also.My google maps location cannot be found either though it just keeps saying unavaliable and when i used the progra Where, i selected find me by gps and that doesn't work either.I hope this can be fixed or this would be a dealbreaker for me, i use gps ALOT.
