Is anyone else using GV with their HERO? My incoming calls are not displaying a caller ID. Anyone else having this issue?I just checked and even if I call my Sprint # directly I have no incoming caller ID displayed.This must be a Sprint issue and not Google Voice.

I have read a couple of threads that touched on this ring issue, but was unable to find any that had a solution or work around.Since the 2.1 update and the OTA update, many times when an incoming call comes, the phone doesn't ring. If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Hero from Sprint around a week ago, and it came with a stock 1.5. Had no issues at all, so today decided to try out the leaked 2.1 RUU. Updated without a hassle, but I've been experiencing some issues. This led to me repairing the bootloader and then trying DamageControl 2.08, and now finally fresh 2.0d. All installations went perfectly, nothing to call home about.
It cannot automatically detect my timezone, and it has no clue as to my location for weather nor other features. When I enable the GPS to go onto Maps, it locates me as around 1,000 miles off the west coast of Africa, whereas I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. I can call my phone from another line, but no response on my phone (no calls received, nor missed calls). When voicemails/messages come in, they flood in (10 new messages, etc, that have all stacked up).
I'm using the Wireless Tethering that comes with Fresh 2.0d, and I used PDANet/EasyTether prior to now (as my sole internet is tethering). I'm wondering if this could have at all affected it. Even with tethering disabled for a good hour, still nothing can reach me. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be greatly appreciated. (Perhaps a radio update?)

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I get a phone call, I get the Accept / Decline Buttons on my phone. Other times, I don't get these options and only a choice to slide the screen to unlock to answer. This has been annoying, sometimes difficult to answer, and at times I have missed calls. I read in another post that I can simply click the: Green button / Red Button on the phone to answer or send to voicemail.
Question: Why is it that on some calls I get the Accept / Decline and on other calls I don't? I'm not sure if it has something to do with calls numbers matching my contact list vs. unknown numbers. Sometimes I get it, other times I don't. Is there a way to set my phone to get: Accept / Decline every time?
Before the update, I had a screen similar to the alarm clock screen - an arc to pull down that would answer the incoming call.But after the update, I could have sworn there was a different screen. Like instead of that arc-bar, there was a green and red "answer" and "ignore" buttons. But now its the arc bar again.can someone shed some light on this?What does YOUR screen look like when receiving a call?

Probably just like most people on here I have been pretty miserable with my phone since updating to 2.1. In my case it is mostly because of all the caller lag problems everyone ellse has already stated, and because of eratic behavior with bluetooth in my car.I have been scanning the threads every few days and I haven't seen anyone complaining about the caller lag problem in a while, is there a fix that I have missed, or have people just gotten borred of complaining and are acepting it.

No matter what 2.1 rom I load, I can make/receive calls ok for a few minutes.... then suddenly I cannot hear anything - no matter if I am making the call, or receiving the call. Have to reboot in order to get it to work. AFter rebooting, same thing. Everything works for a few calls, then I cannot hear anything. Anyone else experiencing this? I tried loading the Fresh audio fix, but it did not fix.

On the BJ there was a function that would allow me to toggle between hiding my phone # or having it displayed on calls to people w/ caller ID. It would read the setting from AT&T network and allow me to change it directly on my phone.
I prefer to not display my number when I make calls. However, about 20% of my calls are to fed/state/local gov buildings. In many of those cases they do not accept calls from numbers that won't display on caller ID. In those cases, I would just switch the setting.
I can't find anything on this type of capability in the Incredible documentation. According to VZ support, this can be done but only by calling support each time.
One thing i miss about my N95 is how it would speak the name of the incoming caller, is there a app out that does this? or a way to make this happen on the HTC Legend?

I left the outlook contacts on the phone (just in case), but switched the View item in people to only show the gmail contacts. Whenever I make or receive a call now, the caller ID lookup always tells me I'm calling or receiving a call from one particular user, who is not the caller/callee. View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had issues with input boxes not displaying what is typed? I have tried the stock keyboard, better keyboard, and am now using swype. They all do it and its random. I regularly use Google Talk and will be chatting for a little bit, hit the end button to lock the screen, come back 2 minutes later and it won't take anything I type. It usually comes back 5-10 minutes later or if I reboot.
This has been going on since 1.5 and continued in stock 2.1 and is still there rooted using Fresh 2.1.
I'm having a very annoying problem with my Sprint HTC Hero, as follows:
When an incoming call comes in after my phone has been dormant for a while (screen off), I am often unable to answer it, because the phone just hangs for about 5 or 10 seconds. That is to say, the phone rings, and the screen lights up and displays the caller ID, but when I try to drag the slider down on the screen to answer the call, nothing happens -- the screen is basically frozen up. It hangs like this for a few seconds -- just long enough that I'm unable to answer the call in time.
Does anyone else have this problem? Do you guys think this is a software issue or a hardware issue? And, most importantly, does anyone know of a fix for this?
