View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm facing a weird problem. Whenever someone calls me, his/her image appears black from the halfway down. While calling someone , it is okay but the problem occurs only during incoming calls. I've tried installing the stock ROM but still got this problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOften I'll be busy browsing or writing a message or whatever and I'll be interrupted by the full-screen incoming call display.
I'm looking for something that automatically puts incoming calls in the background, ideally just in the notification bar or something without interrupting the current app.
It's particularly annoying when I'm writing a message in Opera for example and an incoming call wipes the message because Opera doesn't have a proper restore state.
I don't want to block calls all together, just make them less intrusive.
I found a program called backgrounder, but it didn't seem to work, and from the youtube video I saw of it, a full screen still appears to pop up on an incoming call.
Has anyone figured out how to hide your outgoing Caller ID on the EVO? I need to be able to do this in order to use my phone for work calls without giving out my personal number to everyone that I call.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen an Android phone receives a call it automatically checks if the call exists in its own contact database. I was wondering if there is a simple way to access that information. I have a PhoneStateListener that performs certain actions during a ringing state, and I want to check if the incoming caller is in the contacts list.
Is there a way to do this without going through the Contacts ContentProvider?
Suppose my application xyz stores a few contacts(just like in the address book/ telephone book). Other contacts are by-default stored in my Android address book. Suppose I receive a call on the handset with my app xyz running in the background. All I need is to fetch the Caller's name from the application xyz and display this name as" Akash Calling..." instead of "+91... calling..." assuming that caller's details are present in the application say, his name and none of his details in the actual address book. Is this feasible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the screen locked. I get a call and I can still answer it and see the number and contact without unlocking the screen. This might be the same for texts, not sure yet.
I did some Googling and there seems to be a setting that can change how much the screen lock blocks. I think I checked everywhere in the phone but don't see this option. It's a ZTE AWE phone with jelly bean.
There's aparently simple ways to bypass screen lock if a phone's lost, but I still want it fully locked.
I ported miui us over to the att s3. One issue I have is when an incoming call takes place it does not show the "1" like it should 1-555-555-5555 instead it shows +55 55 55555.

When I receive a call or a text message from someone it displays their phone number instead of their name that is in my phone book. How do I fix this as I have tried goggle and the user manual and can't seem to find it. Before I synchronized my Outlook contacts it was working fine but since adding my Outlook info I can't tell who is sending me a text or phoning unless I recognize the phone number.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy sister and her boyfriend each have their own mobiles, but they share the same land line. When someone calls me from that land line, caller ID always shows that it's my sister's boyfriend calling me, when 90% of the time it'll be my sister. Is there any way to change the default caller (in terms of caller ID) for a particular land line when a land line is shared among contacts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just switched to the Incredible from BlackJack on AT&T. On the BJ there was a function that would allow me to toggle between hiding my phone # or having it displayed on calls to people w/ caller ID. It would read the setting from AT&T network and allow me to change it directly on my phone.
I prefer to not display my number when I make calls. However, about 20% of my calls are to fed/state/local gov buildings. In many of those cases they do not accept calls from numbers that won't display on caller ID. In those cases, I would just switch the setting.
I can't find anything on this type of capability in the Incredible documentation. According to VZ support, this can be done but only by calling support each time.
Is there a way to fix this? it will show the number for about 4 or 5 seconds before the contacts name pops up... and sometimes, the contact name wont pop up until i have already answered the call.

My ex has a crazy girlfriend and no matter how many times I change my phone number she somehow gets my number and finds me in those apps but I don't have her number to be able to block her from finding me. Is there a way to hide myself?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to hide my phone number when calling out? I came over from BlackBerry, where there is simply an option to "hide" my phone number on outgoing calls... but I can't seem to do this with my Eris. Someone once suggested that I prefix my contacts with *69... but that seems to prevent caller id from working properly, which just trades one issue for another.
If possible, I would prefer to be selective with who I do this with (it's okay for personal contacts to see my number... but it's not okay for business contacts to see my number).

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently switched from T-mobile to Verizon, and just picked up my nice shiny new HTC Incredible phone. It works great, with one exception.Whenever I get an incoming call, the phone just shows that I have an incoming call but doesn't show the caller's phone number, or the name if they are one of my contacst. It doesn't matter if the call is coming from a land line, a Verizon mobile phone, or whether or not they are on of my contacts, each time all it shows is incoming call, and nothing esle.I probably have some setting screwed up, but so far I can't find it.
