All incoming calls go directly to voicemail when I am listening to music on my Hero. Is there a setting I haven't found to address this? Or an app?

So I was cycling home from work listening to some music on my Desire through the headphones via Meridian music player. During the trip home the music muted for 10 seconds or so and then re-started. I checked the phone and noticed that I had a missed call. My phone was set to vibrate only. I didn't feel it vibrate in my pocket whilst cycling. When I've listened to music before I've always heard some notification through the headphones when a call, text or email has come through but I can't be sure that the phone was on vibrate on these occasions.
Can anyone confirm that when using the headphones with the phone on vibrate you will not get an audible notification when a call, text or email comes through? If this is the case its a bit annoying because if its an email I am happy to wait till I get home but if its a call I want to take it straight away. With no audible notification you have no way of knowing whats come through.
When my friends call me, my phone starts ring between third and fourth free signal on theirs side, then the time I am realizing it rings and it's in voicemail already.very annoying.what makes this in-acceptable delay?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a contact setup and have enabled the option to have their calls go directly to voicemail. I've got every number I know for this person listed. Seems like that's all I really need to do. So why am I here watchinghearing my phone ring right now on my desk and yes it's from the contact in question? I mean we've all got at least 1 person that we just do NOT want to talk to when they call. I can deal with a voicemail and call them back when I'm ready. But when I reach for my ringing phone and I see that contact's name. all I can say is WTF?

I am trying to simulate my phone being turned off. If the caller hears even one ring, it will be assumed I am hitting ignore. Does such an application exist?

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Back Beat stereo bluetooth headset for my HERO. After listening for a few days I got a warning stating that my internal memory was getting low. Soon after that, I could not receive text anymore. I did a hard reset on the phone and the memory was restored, but this is the only way I could get the memory to come back. Is there any way to restore the internal memory without doing a hard reset and loosing everything?

I downloaded the Advanced App Killer to close that when I'm done listening to songs. I like having the widget, but maybe there's another app out there (with a widget) that can be used in place of the preloaded one, that will actually STOP, instead of just pause?
Pandora does it too, but I think there is a setting that shuts it off after a certain amount of time being paused...
Although there are a few threads about calls going straight to voice mail in other phone sections, I have yet to see one here. From what I read, there isn't a solution, but I still want to ask being that it is now happening to my Sprint Hero. Anyone know what causes it, or if there is a setting one can change to stop it.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI purchased the HTC Hero from Sprint around a week ago, and it came with a stock 1.5. Had no issues at all, so today decided to try out the leaked 2.1 RUU. Updated without a hassle, but I've been experiencing some issues. This led to me repairing the bootloader and then trying DamageControl 2.08, and now finally fresh 2.0d. All installations went perfectly, nothing to call home about.
It cannot automatically detect my timezone, and it has no clue as to my location for weather nor other features. When I enable the GPS to go onto Maps, it locates me as around 1,000 miles off the west coast of Africa, whereas I'm in Pennsylvania, USA. I can call my phone from another line, but no response on my phone (no calls received, nor missed calls). When voicemails/messages come in, they flood in (10 new messages, etc, that have all stacked up).
I'm using the Wireless Tethering that comes with Fresh 2.0d, and I used PDANet/EasyTether prior to now (as my sole internet is tethering). I'm wondering if this could have at all affected it. Even with tethering disabled for a good hour, still nothing can reach me. If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be greatly appreciated. (Perhaps a radio update?)

View 2 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I get a phone call, I get the Accept / Decline Buttons on my phone. Other times, I don't get these options and only a choice to slide the screen to unlock to answer. This has been annoying, sometimes difficult to answer, and at times I have missed calls. I read in another post that I can simply click the: Green button / Red Button on the phone to answer or send to voicemail.
Question: Why is it that on some calls I get the Accept / Decline and on other calls I don't? I'm not sure if it has something to do with calls numbers matching my contact list vs. unknown numbers. Sometimes I get it, other times I don't. Is there a way to set my phone to get: Accept / Decline every time?
Before the update, I had a screen similar to the alarm clock screen - an arc to pull down that would answer the incoming call.But after the update, I could have sworn there was a different screen. Like instead of that arc-bar, there was a green and red "answer" and "ignore" buttons. I just discovered this today, and it has been mentioned in part before but I thought I'd share myself because it is an extremely useful feature, not to mention i had seen posts in the past that claimed this was not possible.Any app that produces sound, be it NAV, Voicemail or the music player can stream through your BT earpiece. I discovered it when my phone pocket dialed a strange combination of '?9797**' I have no idea how to reproduce a '?'After some reading I found that ** or p (pause?) will open the BT connection. The easiest way to enable it is to save a call contact shortcut of 'p' on the home screen. Just hit that icon prior to using whatever app you want and it will play through the earpiece. Hit the icon again to close the connection so you dont run into battery issue.Note you can dial ** to achieve the same (which will change into a p) however it will not work if you create a contact with **, you must create it with a p

View 22 Replies View RelatedI have used my Hero in 2 different countries and I get the same problem: Regardless of signal connection, I miss half (a guess) of all calls made to me. People tell me it finally dials after a few straight-to-voicemail tries. This didn't happen with any of my previous phones (Nokias and Motos), in both of the aforementioned countries. I really hope my rubber case has all to do with this because I bought the phone from eBay (i.e. no warranty).

It's sat on my desk, enjoying full signal. All of a sudden it chimes up that it's got a new voicemail. No missed calls, no nothing, just a voicemail.

I'm super happy with my new Hero. But I use an external compact camera to make pictures.
Is it posible to connect an external camera to the HTC hero using a USB cable (and an app)?
This would be supercool when we are on the road without a laptop.
Just talking on the hero when another call beeped in, screen came up showing who was calling. I hit the Decline button which is supposed to send the call directly to VM, but it only made the screen go away. I kept getting the beep notification that another call was trying to get through and then the choppy dial tone hang up signal after the call eventually made it to VM.
