I just rooted my replacement Hero and rooted it. Flashed CM6 and it just keeps reloading the Cyanogen (mod) screen that has the circular arrow surrounding the Android. I've left it go for 45 minutes and still nothing more, it won't boot up completely. I've tried Wiping everything and for some reason I can't find my Nandroid backup. I can't seem to do anything now. How do I wipe this clean again and start over?

Here's an interesting thing that just occurred for me. I used kitchen to push the stock android keyboard to my phone and removed the LWPs so when I went to reboot my phone it locked up at the boot screen where the little android emblem is hanging off the HERO while waving it's hand. I'm running Fresh 2.0d just in case that matters at all.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI rooted the phone a while back and was using fresh 1.1, probably over a month ago. Recently I've been missing incoming text messages and now not receiving my exchange emails, so I figured I'd go ahead and update to 2.0d (sticking with fresh). I downloaded the zip and flashed it but it didn't boot up (waited over 30 minutes) it just stayed on with the animated HTC text. Multiple attempts with the same results. Even tried Damagecontrol 2.08 and it boots and and I even get the sprint animated logo but stays at the htc "quietly brillant" and goes no further.

When I turn my phone off and try to boot into recovery mode by holding down the Home and Power buttons, I get a picture of a phone with a little red exclamation point beside it that will not go away. I eventually had to take the battery out of the back of it to get it to go away. Put the battery back in and it works fine but I would really like to install that Rom.
I have a Sprint Hero that I have rooted and in trying to do a Nandroid backup have found myself unable to get to recovery mode. I hold Home, hit power and the system hangs on the initial HTC screen until I remove the battery. After that the phone will boot into the regular OS just fine.
Now I am kinda stuck here, without recovery mode I can't even restore my phone back to stock can I? It's not urgent since my phone works normally otherwise.
I installed Aloysius 2.0.8 rom last night and now all my phone will do is show red, blue , green and yellow colors the boot animation going back and fourth all night it will not let me do anything it seem like it is suck. Is there anything I can do to puy my old system back on the phone? I tried the hold the power button and volume down key but it just does the same thing over and over and I can't do anything with the phone. Is my phone just a brick now or is there a way to make this thing work.

I was just recently installing last.fm and I guess I pressed something that caused my phone to slow way down, pretty much froze up, so I rebooted it. It booted all the way up and then rebooted itself again and now it won't go passed the white htc screen.

This will bring you to a menu that gives you the option to erase user data or not, choosing yes will reset firmware to factory and you will lose ALL settings, including wallpapers, ringtones, etc, but your sd card will remain untouched... if you brick your hero this should help, but im not claiming responsibility if it doesnt.
Is it possible that someone who still has 1.5 on their Hero to copy all the needed files for the COMPLETE boot sequence and post it so I can download it? Someone has already posted the HERO logo with the android waving but I would like the whole boot loop.

I cannot boot into recovery either, tried that many times as well. My only option is a screen that I have not seen before that asks if I want to clear all data and then reset the device.

I've done it about ten times now; it has happened every time. I'm running the stock Android 2.1 ROM from Sprint. <Background> When Android boots, it preloads a huge number of apps into RAM. Essentially, it's starting JVM processes and loading the classes of applications without actually executing any of their code. Android does this to reduce the lag you would feel when activating one of these apps. These preloaded apps are said to be EMPTY. There's no real penalty for preloading these apps since they're loaded in the background in otherwise idle CPU cycles and their processes will be terminated as needed to free up RAM for applications you begin using. </Background>
Although it should be impossible, one of those preloaded apps is preventing the Hero from sleeping. By process of elimination, I have found which one it is: Footprints.............
My G2 Touch refuses to boot up and stays stuck in the initial logo screen. I removed the battery and switched it back on holding down the VOL DOWN button. The display shows:

View 3 Replies View Related1st time poster long time lurker. I have done a search on Google trying to find a solution or at least a reason as to why my phone is behaving this way. Search produces nothing. This week my phone started behaving strange. I will get a call, but the caller ID no longer displays. Suddenly the screen starts to flash and I have to unlock the screen in order to see who is calling. By the time the screen is unlocked the person has already hung up. I have not done anything (add new programs) in the last 2 weeks and I am not sure why this is happening.

Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

View 48 Replies View RelatedI went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.

Why the Hero doen't show the 2.1 Lock screen, and instead it shows the default one. Any App or something. I'm a Newbie, and I'm running 2.1 Sprint Update if someone could explain step by step.

The only app that seems to keep the screen from going dim is Navigation. If I use an app like Google Maps it goes dim and then dark at the set time. I would like it to stay on specifically when it's got the charger hooked to it. It will only go dim with the charger on but I'd like it to stay bright. Or do I have to change my setting to "never turn off" everytime I want it to stay on?

I pushed every button possible. I could not get it to stop and i could not turn the phone off. Finally I had no other option but to pull the battery. Any one else experience this with the new 2.1 update??
