are the screens on the x10 truly capacitive?? is there a difference?. hardware, software? only asking because being the user of an i pod touch they are very different. with the x10 being much less responsive/error prone/over sensitive?. also reading this questions the type of screen Capacitive sensing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . especially the 'advantages' part about cleaning with cloths and accidental command inputs. which, im sad to say is wrong, because mine does, and also when in my pocket it has had 'accidental command inputs!' lalso if i squeeze the side of the phone it will input somthing random. all of which doesnt happen with my ipod touch!. so could the x10 be a mix of capacitive and resistive?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWell I encountered a really weird and not pleasent experience with my x10 today. I had it charging overnight like probably everyone who has one does and than I unplugged it to get started for the day. However, when I unplugged it from the usb cord, the screen got locked and flashed. So I turned it off and turned it back on. Well when it came back on, I had LOST everything that I had setup on my 3 screens! No icons, no nothing! Everything was gone except for the wallpaper or theme, which was the same I had setup. I did have ADW setup as my launcher, but all my launchers were gone as well. When I held down the center button, which would normally bring up my launcher option, it brought me to the homescreen.
So now I have to go through and resetup all of the icons and screens. Not a big ordeal, but what is troubling me is why did it even happen?

Is there a way to put a shortcut on the main screen for the battery level? I have been unsuccessful so far. I don't think the shortcuts option will let your drill down that deep to place that specific shortcut on the main screen.

I tried googling and they said that I might need to change the region of my phone. How do I do that? Also, I can send pictures via bluetooth but I cannot receive any files nor pictures from them. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've checked the "orientation" box in the "sound and display" settings menu, but the Home and Menu screens will not auto-orient when my X10 mini pro is rotated. It only works when the keyboard is slid open - applications don't seem to have this problem. This is a recent issue, probably in the last couple of days. i've tried reinstalling the software via PC Companion and SEUS, in addition to a "factory reset," but they haven't solved anything. Is there something wrong with the accelerometer or is it a software issue that can be resolved with the next software update (2.1)?

I know you can't do it in TouchWiz, even though if you press on any of the home screen indicators (the dots at the top) you can fast path to that screen. I tried launcher pro - but could not figure it out - that could be user error. The reason I want this, is to keep my home page clean and have a few icons at the bottom to get to certain pages without having to scroll. (examples music, tools, car, shopping).

But when I do this there is no Sony Ericsson option.
The Droid OS comes with only 3 home screens for adding shortcuts and widgets. Any apps in the Android Market to add additional screens?
View 34 Replies View RelatedI was surprised that SONY is not providing a software which enables the user to sync the Xperia X10 mini pro directly with your computer (e.g. Outlook).
After wasting a lot of time I generated an account at Sony webpage and managed all my accounts including "birthday" but now I found out that the
phone is not creating a corresponding calendar entry and therefore my phone is not reminding me for any birthday.
So I did some modding (unfortunately) to the framework-res.apk file and it worked the first time and a few other times but then I changed something and now when I turn on the phone it freezes at the "Sony Ericsson" screen before the logo. What do I do?
I tried pushing the backup framework file but it says "failed to copy framework-res.apk to /sdcard/framework-res.apk: Permission denied
However, when I use adb devices, it does show my device as being attached.
So what can I do now?
I was also able to pull files...
Also tried manually putting the framework-res.apk in the sdcard and then using adb to copy it to the framework folder. Doesnt work. Saids that the directory cannot be open for read. I guess the device cant read the SD card until it boots up.
I saw that there are already a number of discussions about sony erricson synchronization but I cannot find one for this specific message: Synchronization failed. It wouldn't tell me why it failed, it just spits out that generic message after I click "Finish" in the Sony Ericsson Sync Client Wizard.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'd like to use my X10 to keep all of my contacts' postal addresses in instead of the tatty old address book I carry in my handbag(!) I didn't fancy typing them all into the phone, so thought I would use the Sony Ericsson sync and put them into the pc first via the PC Companion sync application, and set up the sync to transfer them into my phone. I have tried a test run adding only a couple of addresses to my contacts on the pc, and adding one to my phone, but when I do a sync, the addresses don't transfer either way. I know that the actual sync is working because I added photos too and they transfer....... I must be doing something wrong that is easily rectified?
