Having just purchased my X10 yesterday and starting a new contract with a new number i would like to send my new number to all my phonebook contacts. I cant seem to work out how to add multiple contacts or indeed to "select all" as i have done on previous phones. Any help would be most welcome.

I am not v ery clear why I can;t select multiple files and share via bluetooth. And why they call using bluetooth as Beaming in this phone.

If I choose edit, in the edit menu are same numbers gor google, sony sync and phone contacts. Even if I try to filter them, they are there.
I have an x10 (which runs Donut 1.6) so maybe the newer versions of android have addressed this but....
When selecting text on a touch screen, it sucks because your fingers block your view of the selection courser. I am not a huge fan of the magnification bubble that I've seen as it also blocks some of your screen.
I would like to propose a new selection behaviour that behaves like smearing paint on a sheet of paper. To select several words from a paragraph you would start the selection process (This would most likely be from a menu item "select text") and then touch somewhere inside your desired target. Then you would smear the selection highlight to one end and then smear it the other way to expand the highlighted area. You can smear back and forth as many times as you want always expanding the highlight until you lift off the screen. If you select too much, you need to cancel but I don't think this will be a problem often.
This behaviour is very similar to the current selection function except that when you start moving the other way it leaves the highlight at the max position you reached so you can go the other way and select where that max position should be.
With the current method if I don't place one end of my highlight correctly, I have to start over. This usually happens multiple times which is annoying.
Does anyone knows how to select text or copy it from emails on the X10? I work a lot with emails but some of my contacts can only use SMS so I have to keep copying info from email to sms, wich with this very high tech wonderful phone that I am having fun with, seems to be somehow impossible? Is it me and my bad tech skills or its the phone?

First of all it doesn't give a dropdown list of my contacts So I manually input by selecting the first letter of my contacts names. Only limits it to several, i'd say about 10/12 people. Then when I send the message, in the notification I get a message saying sms failed. Only 2 people seem to recieve the actual SMS. This is really frustrating.

At present to delete these pictures I have to go through each picture individually. How can I delete the entire contents of each folder? I do not seem to have a tag feature where I can tag all of the photogrpahs that I want to delete in one go. Any ideas?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have two groups of contacts "MyContacts" and "Utilities". When I set up synching I selected to copy "All contacts".
Unfortunatey, when I look what's on my area on sonyericsson.com/wportal I see only the contacts from the group "MyContacts".
I.e. the site creates a false feeling of security - if I need to restore my phone from this site I will irrecovarebly lose lots of data.
I don't know is SE forgot to test their function or Android-hackers don't understand the features of the contacts.
All area of handling the contacts stinks seriously, and mkes you wander if the Android people ever used a mobile phone :
1. X10 does not accept contacts sent via SMS (VCARD-format), (or via MMS or bluetooth)
2. X10 does not sync with Outlook where most of business people have their contacts, and maintain them when receiving corporate mails etc.
3. The only way to get the contacts is to export from PC to a csv-file and import to gmail, and then sync to the phone. This is not that flexible due the export via csv. I.e. If I create cntacts in the phone they will not reach Outlook.
After updating my phone i noticed i cant find half my contacts. how can i get the contacts back to my original ones

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my X10 mini pro for about a month and now I can't stand some of the "features" anymore. First, I thought people where crazy, sending me the same sms two or three times in a row. But now I've realized that they aren't, it's just my phone that receives them over and over again. It is the same thing with notifications. If I set a reminder in the calendar, the reminder pops up in my notification bar sometimes five or six times before I get to angry and delete the whole event from the calendar. Is these problems specific to me or do anyone else recognize them?

When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have sprint, my phone is an Epic and i love it! however when sending even a simple text i select "new message" the "to" box comes up. i have to start typing in a name to get contacts with similar names to start coming up, which i then select. then i have to repeat for the next contact...i have had cheaper phones that have allowed me to select recipients from my contact list. i have a friend who has Verizon, but has the same andrion platform (i think its a fascinate) and when she clicks on the "to" box, she gets a drop down menu that includes the word "contacts", as well as "recent calls". she clicks on that and goes right down the list selecting recipients...this is standard on her phone, as she did not dwld an app to allow this...MY epic wont do this...can i change a setting or something.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNow before I get flood of 'get handcent' and ' get chompsms' responses, I'm letting you all know that I have used both, and I have found both either don't show or don't save pic messages. I'm a promoter so I need to use pic messages, so don't mind the stock messenger since its the only one that works right with pic messaging. The only problem I have with it is that I can't select multiple contact from my list to text at the same time. How is this not a stock feature? If it did that, I would delete the other messenger apps and save very valuable space on my phone.
