Can somebody tell me how to install a apk file which i put on the sd card on to the phone, i cant find find it anywhere on the phone. I have browsed this site and i think i have to update from 1.6 to 2.1 but if i done this how do go about finding the file on the phone.

So after getting back from my short vacation I decided to write a step-by-step guide which also includes screenshots to make it easier for you First of all I will explain how to install the original HTC keybaord, then I will tell you where to customize your own HTC keyboard for those of you that prefer it customized How to install the HTC keybaord on your Xperia X10Before you start, make sure your phone is set to allow apps from unknown sources. To enable this, go to Settings > Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is checked 1. Download the HTC Keyboard here2. Open the zip archive and copy the files to your desktopAT&T users will not be able to install this keyboard using steps 3-8 as they cannot side load apps. If you are an AT&T user, scroll down to see the instructions at the bottom of this guide explaining how to install the HTC keyboard. When you have done that, go to step 9 3. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable, drag down the notification bar on your Xperia and tap "USB COnnected" then tap "Mount". When I download it, the X10 says Google is "protecting" me by not allowing me to install any app that is not from the App Market. I don't want to be "protected"! Is there any way to turn this message off? The only reason I got this Sony, instead of an iPhone, is because Apple won't let you choose your own browser.
